This is a long-Term review. I've worked around the area for about ten years and to be honest I only come here when I'm really starving, desperate and I'm okay with being disappointed. They make a decent hamburger and fries because well, it's hard to get that wrong. There is only Wendy's nearby so there's that too. The food ranges from acceptably mediocre to downright deplorable. Do NOT come here for pasta unless you have a bottle of Pepto-Bismol in your purse or backpack. Dinners here are a crapshoot. The service is okay. Watered down powder mash potatoes. Overcooked pasta. Sliced ham or old tasting sliced turkey for breakfast. Chicken cutlets that taste like they've been in the freezer for one year too long. Canned or frozen vegetables. They are conveniently located. I ordered the Challah French toast with beef sausage and I added an order of home fries. The fries portion is huge! I almost couldn't finish it. The French toast was tasty, though I was a bit disappointed that it just looks like Texas toast, and not the fluffy, braided bread you imagine when you hear the word, "challah". The coffee wasn't so good though. No amount of sugar helped it. I'm sure tea would be a better bet. I'll go for that next time. All in all, a good breakfast. After experiencing the worst curial act from a waiter. I placed a simple order for my daughter and I. After finishing up our breakfast and having my coffee in which I didn't get to "my coffee". I left and paid. NO tips. The waiter stated, "you can't be hanging, please pay and go" I was in shock and disgusted to hear this. Keep in mind, total time approximately 50mins in between: sitting and few minutes deciding what to order for myself and my daughter, then waiting for the food to arrive, we eat and trying to enjoy the coffee.. Keep in mind; today's weather, cold, icy winter storm. They only had 2 out of 10-15 tables occupied, totally 5 customers dinning. There were no line outside people waiting, not even close of busy day. It was completely DEAD. It was between the hours of 1:50pm to 2:40pm. The waiter kick us out. I look around my surroundings and I see one female was done eating and working on her laptop. I started to realize what was happening. As a Latina female with a child dining and i see across from me a young Asian female dinning and done eating, quietly on her laptop, totally nothing wrong with it. She spend more than hour than my daughter & I. We're quietly sitting and I was on cell texting to fellow friends and family in the Law enforcement. He stayed, watched and stood near us to leave and pay and yet had the nerve to ask he can take my receipt and money to get me out ASAP. I said, no thank you I got it. I walked over to the lady and paid. He looked at me to see what I was doing..... while I'm zeroing out any tips and signing my receipt. Again, I left him no tip and left a nasty comment for he's act. Terrible service & Appalled. Located in Washington Heights; where's is primarily a Hispanic community and surrounded with clinics, hospitals/ medical field and residential buildings. I always order the same two things... 1-The nachos. They are huge, filling, and never arrive soggy; covered w lots of melted cheese, their yummy spicy chili with beans , and tomatoes. Served with salsa, sour cream, and guacamole on the side. 2- Cheesecake. Probably the best I've had in nyc. The bottom is a layer of delicious sponge cake, and the cheesecake itself is creamy and vanilla-y. Delivery is always on time if not early. Even when it's 2am. I came in with my girlfriend and place looked clean and welcoming. Reception host had us sit ourselves which was a little lazy of her but waiter attended right away. He got us waters and got our orders immediately. We ordered mozzarella sticks, waffle fries, chili bowl and lasagna. The chili bowl and lasagna was alright I'd give it a 7 out of 10. I am not a mean person, I just have to be honest :( I ordered chicken fingers and mozzarella sticks via seamless from this diner and they were inedible.... Disgusting would be the word that first comes to mind. I love diners, I understand them, I know it's not going to be a 5 star meal, but the low grade quality of this food was very bad. My cheese sticks were oil soaked, cold and limp. My "chicken fingers" were as thin as paper, tasted like plastic and made me nauseous. Very disappointed in this Diner. Since their opening i have been a loyal customer. Not keen on leaving a bad review on places but i have had 1 too many bad experiences here. Wouldn't recommend ordering their desserts, unless your into plastic tasteless sweets. The food in general is OK- the customer service is HORRIBLE. I ordered my food online one day and paid with my credit card. Something came up and i no longer wanted the food so i called to cancel the order i had placed only 8 minutes before. The man who i spoke with annoyingly told me "Next time don't order" i apologized and became upset but just requested to cancel my order. 5 minutes later he called back again to inform me that the order was ready and his manager would like to know why i cancelled my order, which is understandable.I explained something came up and i simply did not want the order. Again apologized that the food was ready but that i had called only minutes after placing my order. What upset me more is that after this phone call i received 2 more phone calls from Wahi, the final one being from the manager herself asking me yet again why i had cancelled my order. They gave me a very hard time in canceling an order. This is not the first time I've had customer service issues with them either. Another time i ordered online, we received an incorrect order, instead of a 2 scrambled eggs they sent us a scrambled egg sandwich. When we called to inform them of the error the man who picked up said "Well you shouldn't be ordering online" So why do they have an online service if they don't like their customers using it? Took about 20-25 minutes, and 2 or 3 more phone calls for them to finally decide they were going to fix our order at no cost. Just horrible horrible customer service. They will give you a hard time fixing an order error and an even harder time to cancel an order. Their motto seems to be "At Wahi, the customer is never right". read more

Had breakfast here on 02/14/16 around 5:00 am (If you recall, one of the coldest nights of the season). I had a glass of ice water completely spilled onto my coat/lap/pants. The waiter, I believe his name was Antonio, was very apologetic and tried his best to alleviate the situation. Everyone in the diner, including customers, employees and managers, watched Antonio make the best he could of the situation he accidently created. Manager did not bother making his way to the table, much less check to see if Antonio needed any extra help cleaning up. I am an easy going person so I appreciated Antonio's apologies and understood anyone can accidently spill a beverage glass over. However, since the right side of my pants (thigh and buttocks area) were completely soaked, I expected the diner to do the right thing and at least take the $1.35 coffee off my bill. No sir! How dare I think I would be given a free cup of coffee! lol . . . . I received a full bill. In addition, my co-worker did not enjoy her french toast. Possibly pre-made freezer french toast? My food was ok but I don't expect a diner to mess up a simple order of eggs, home fries and toast. We will not be back. This is my local greasy spoon and I wouldn't have it any other way! As it is a diner, they serve every type of food you could possibly imagine. That being said, they might be more successful if they had fewer choices, but did them fabulously. I love the convenience of WaHi, so I keep going back. Prices are very reasonable and the wait staff is hit or miss. There is one waitress who really keeps everyone on their toes, but if you don't get her, you are (usually) in for a long wait. Pros: The prices are good and there's delivery, which is nice because Washington Heignts isn't exactly the best of neighborhoods at night and they have online ordering too. The food is decent when you sit down--the portion sizes are hefty. It's a pretty basic diner. Cons: I don't know what it is, but their delivery is absurd. First, it's slow. We're talking almost an hour slow. Second, they give you shitty styrofoam containers and by the time the food gets to your place it's cold. Third, the delivery man is ridiculously rude. He called my girlfriend and then basically yelled at her on the phone because she couldn't hear him knock timidly on the door below instead of ringing the bell so she can hear him. Importantly delivery transforms the food into shit. I ordered a roast chicken that came with mashed potato and string beans: the chicken had a slightly grimey taste, the mashed potatoes were chalky, and the string beans had no flavor (no salt, no pepper, nothing) whatsoever and tasted like they were taken from a can then microwaved. The sweet potato fries were the worst I have ever eaten: a greasy stale mess. The soup (chicken lemonsomethingsomething) was a sea of salt and yellow shit. My girlfriend's toast clearly microwaved and soggy. Do I recommend this place? Sure if you're hungry for diner food late at night and have no energy to leave, but the mind to wait an hour for mediocre food. This is the perfect little diner tucked in on the corner of Broadway and 164th. If only I had known about this when I was working nights! The breakfast food is really good and considering I live for diner breakfasts, I'd say this place is a winner. The patty melt is another any time favorite (when I dont care about the calories!). I used to go to this place when it was called Georgia's. And they just reopened. First of all - they are planning to be opened 24/7 which is just awesome. For now they are opened till 12midnight and I went there twice since they reopened. Service: both times I has two different waiters, both very nice and helpful. Glass of water always full and food delivered quickly. Food: I really recommend Georgia's Burger - awesome! My friend ordered Twin Burger - this thing is HUGE, lots of meat, and tastes great. My other friend ordered turkey club-sandwiches, which were very tasty. The only thing we didn't really like was coleslaw - it's too sweet to my taste. Prices: very cheap. For example my Georgia's burger was $6.25. Yesterday we have got club-sandwiches, burger, cheese sticks and drinks - total $23. They do accept credit cards. Since the place just opened up (yesterday was they Grand Opening) give this place a week and I bet they will fix everything nicely. I recommend, and going there in 5 mins for my lunch :) P.S. they deliver. $10 minimum as I just find out. read more

I demanded a refund* to which I was told I would receive 50% off my next order. I demanded a refund again** and this time my demand was met with a question. "If I don't give you a refund, what're you gonna do?" I tried to reason*** by stating that I did not want any money off a future order because I was not going to order from them again. I visited here today, on a Sunday morning, and had a bad experience. The place was busy and I was with a party of 3, but we were happy to wait for a table. After about two bites into my home fries, reaching for my third, I found a sausage on my plate. I am vegetarian- what the hell was a sausage doing on my plate, hiding in the home fries? Who knows...anyway the server took the plate away but I had already lost my appetite. There had already been a long wait for the food (the server said our ticket had gotten lost....so people who came in after us already had their food) but we were looking forward to it still. It was not worth the wait and now I have to go get food elsewhere after my friends eat. I gave it 2 stars because my friends enjoyed their meals. I won't be coming back. So I've been to the diner several times and have always had an acceptable experience, nothing special but never bad. However, today I decided to order delivery online. Easily the most comprehensive and user-friendly website I've ever used to order delivery, from selecting food off the menu to the credit card payment. The food arrived within half an hour. We live only two blocks away, but still. Absolutely delicious as well. Still hot despite it being 40 degrees outside. And the price for two full meals (and drinks AND tip) was less than $30.
