Commuter dinner. Ordered outer reef chicken burrito with sour cream guac & everything with. Comparable price to El Pollo Loco burritos. Flavor however a bit different but tastes pretty good. Portion is hoagie which may cause after meal coma - fight it! Was greeted immediately; after placing my order the cashier said it would take about 10 minutes & which it did on point. Lady from the kitchen brought my to go order out to me. Thank you that was kind instead of me going up to the counter. Interior decoration is cool. There's a breakfast menu & they serve beer. I have been here twice and my first time at this location. I ordered the steak bowl. It was about $12 with tax. I told my friend I was eating with that I could have had the same meal at chipotle for cheaper. The steak bowl only contained rice, beans, meat, and a small garnish of cilantro. Ive eaten here probably 50 times. Every experience was good, until the last time. I got a ton of bones in my fish tacos. Yuck. I know it happens, but I can't control the sick feeling in the pit of my stomach when thinking about it. I do live the blackened fish tacos and I also like the steak taquitos. The beer of the month is also a good offering, although now you're only allowed 2! Bah humbug. I'll eventually go back as I do crave their food. And it's fairly quick and convenient. So first time here but have heard so many amazing things. I came in and there was no one around to take my order. waited about 5 minutes and someone to come take my order. The order process was hilarious. It was my first time obviously, and the lady seemed frustrated that I didn't understand the different types of sauces. I asked for crispy fist tacos and ended up ordereing spicy tacos that were not crisypy and I have no idea how that happened when the lady took my order. BUT THE GOOD NEWS I loved the tacos, so tasty. Not exactly what I wanted, I wanted crunch to it, but overall they were pretty good enough not to complain or send it back. The beans and rice the came with it were pretty dang good as well. I got the shrimp burrito a la carte. Burrito is simple - just a good amount of tender shrimp, cheese, shredded cabbage, and a light red salsa. Tastes good, too. The Maui Onion Rings were a huge surprise. Battered sweet onions, fried crispy. They were extremely good. For $2.65, you get a good amount to share as an appetizer. This place is like a better rubios! I didn't try their fish tacos, but I should have. It looks really good! I was kind of low in money today so I just bought steak tacquitos. It was okay.. It was literally just steak inside a fried tortilla wrap. However, they was bigger than expected. Normally tacquitos are wrapped pretty thin, but these were a little thicker. They tasted okay, but they were VERY OILY! I asked for a side of their green sauce, and I have to say that was so good! If I didn't get the green sauce I don't think my food would of been as great as it was.. So I highly recommend getting the green sauce with every order! Customer service is nice! Oh where do I even start Wahoos...It seems to me that they have an brand identity crisis! Its supposed to be a Mexican restaurant? I have no idea! Please tell me why a simple protein bowl from what appears to be a Mexican food spot has to have those items in it. And it didnt have rice or beans!!! If I went for an Asian stir fry plate or spot then that mixture of items would make sense. After all that, the food had NO SEASONINGS! Tasted like old veggies & dirty water. I never thought there would come day that I would post a bad review for the Tustin Wahoos but my last visit was was far less then satisfying. The Wahoo's shrimp salad was small portion and you've obviously sunken to farmed raised crap. The fish taco was as dry as a bone and terrible. We also ordered onion rings (half of them were literally in pieces) and the chips for the chips and salsa (more like taco sauce not actual salsa) were so skimpy I had to ask for more chips which you were gladly willing to squeeze another $1.19 out of me. Everytime my daughter comes to visit with my grandson from Apple Valley she always wants to go to Wahoo's since they don't have any in her area. I started taking her there when she was 2 and she's 32 now. No usual greetings and nothing on the way out. You just lost a customer that has spent an incredible amount of money at your place consistently for 35 yrs. By the way we showed up at 10:45 on Saturday morning and were the only customer there when we walked in. How you cannot see this is amazing to me. Also, I wonder why they don't season their rice and beans, especially that plain bland rice. I am a food jerk. I constantly contradict places that are famous for one food item by ordering something else entirely off of the menu. You think you're so good, ehy? Well, take my order for grilled chicken tacos and impress me you fish taco serving place! Aha! The two item combo plate with fountain drinks for two people was over $17. I had the chicken tacos, no beans (since I didn't want black beans nor the spicy white beans either) and white rice . My son had the enchilada, black beans and the brown rice. I found the menu confusing. It appeared as though it was supposed to be for a sit down place, but you order at the counter. I mean, since when do you order appetizers at a counter? Hrm. The food came out fast though and it's delivered to your table. It was nothing fancy for the price with the majority of food on my plate consisting of mostly rice and lettuce but it hit the spot in between all the running around we did before hitting home. For Tustin, this place has a very beachy and sports oriented vibe to it. There were stickers, skateboards and surfboards mounted all over the place and a beach cruiser on top of the soda machine. Wahoos consistently performs here. The staff works hard especially during the Lunch rush. Had the carnitas plate aka Kalua Pig with rice and beans. Your choice of beans and rice. The carnitas is not like Hawaii Kalua Pig at all, rather Bar B Quey for my taste. Competition is fierce here so I don't blame them. Reminded me of the, also tasty, pork barbacoa at nearby Cafe Rio. I got Green sauce aka cilantro sauce and another pico de gallo aka lomi lomi salmon in Hawaii, without the salmon. For days when you don't really want to eat tortillas try this. read more

I just can't rate Whoo's more than two stars. The food is tasteless and overpriced. I guess I'm spoiled by Bear Flag but Wahoo's just falls short on so many levels...like taste and price. The employees are friendly here and there is plenty of seating. I had fish tacos which had very stale tortillas. There was plenty of food and enough beans and rice on my plate to make a huge burrito with. I will still avoid this place if at all possible. HIt up Bear Flag if you are looking for outstanding fish tacos. Granted, Wahoo's is a huge chain and it's hard to keep quality in check when you are dealing with a huge chain, but I don't get the hype of this place. read more

i love this location because service is always great :) my go-tos are the fish tacos with blackened fish, or the salmon bowl! Their pico de gallo is fresh and tastes amazing with anything on the menu i also add a bunch of tapatio to all my food for extra flavor and some spice! i get brown rice when i'm trying to be healthy but the white rice tastes sooo good. overall, definitely one of my favorite wahoos locations! read more

I really love this place, because it's Wahoo's totally unlike anything around like Rubio's or Baja Fresh more fresh without it being deep fried. I always get the chicken bowl (which isn't a bowl, it's a plate) or their fish salad. No matter which one you go to, the food is going to be on point. Here is what's different about this location. I think the HB is like too cool ya know, just don't feel like my scene and it is so freaking crowded...good luck! The South Coast Plaza Crystal Court one is dead during the weekdays so it doesn't feel lively enough for a Wahoo's. This location has a good mix....not too packed on the weekdays and weekends but lively enough so it's not just you and the staff. Plus the people behind the counter are nice and always go the extra mile. I definitely dig Wahoo's at Tustin! :) read more

I love Wahoo's....it's been a staple in my diet ever since I moved to Orange County. This isn't my "OG" Wahoo's, but it's right by my work so I come here often. This location is average size, has excellent staff, and really quick service even during the lunch hour rush. There are a lot of suits here between 12 and 2, but I generally opt to sit on the patio...no one is ever out there and it gets a lot of sun so I'm happy to have it to myself. If you're trying to eat clean, try the Wahoo's Salad with shrimp...good amount of protein, low calorie and low fat (get it with the cilantro dressing). Otherwise, the tacos, bowls, chip and salsa (guac is pretty perfect too), and Baja Rolls are all excellent choices. They serve beer here too if you're in need of one on your lunch hour. This is a definite go-to spot for me. Always will be. read more

Wahoo's Fish Taco is like Rubio's Baja Grill, only with sand-dusted hair and a bronze tan. The interior has more stickers slapped on it than a NASCAR vehicle. Every surfboard and skateboard company has their brand's sticker haphazardly plastered to a wall or booth. And why is there a low-hanging sign hitting my head? I know I'm not a Duke basketball center, so there is no reason why a sign should be playing a game of croquet against my face. No matter, the fish tacos were pretty great. Quality seafood propped up against a bed of cabbage is their flagship meal, so it wasn't much of a shocker. The carne asada burrito, on the other hand, had so much lettuce in it I felt like I was eating the complete produce department of a grocery store. The meat, once I got my canines on it, was well seasoned and lean of fat. A good experience, but nothing that sent me over the top. Wahoo's Fish Taco very cold and it has the metal chairs and even if you're wearing jeans you can still be cold and when you go there that also the tables are cold and if you get cold water you are even colder than before. Wahoo's is how do you guys have to mess not cheap and it is like $30 for one bowl and me on when you go there it's not that sounds that won't welcoming. The food at wahoo's also really good and yummy and it has a kids meal at least.They have a bonzie bowl available for adults so they can share the kids can have a kids bowl It comes with either brown rice or white rice and black beans are good or go Bonzo beans and it even comes with chicken or beef I prefer the beef because I am a beef eater and they have a lot of food items to. The first time I ever had a Wahoo's fish taco was in the 8th grade and since then I don't think I've ever found a better fish taco. I do admit though that this is a pretty limited review of Wahoo's considering I've never ordered anything from the menu except for fish tacos. When I was little, Wahoo's seemed like gross adult food. How could someone eat fish that wasn't deep fried, in the shape of a stick, that came from a box with a guy in a rain coat? Fast forward to full fledged adult hood and I get it. Now I'm like, "How can someone not eat Wahoo's and eat a frozen boxed fish stick?" I have come to love Wahoo's for so many reasons. Everything is cooked to order and is fresh. If you do it right, it can even be healthy. This is one of the few places that I go to where I actually feel good about myself after eating there.
