I met some friends there, we had reserved a side room as there were 12 of us. Although the wait staff was knowledgeable and friendly they seemed to go away for longish periods of time after our food was delivered. I had the cranberry walnut salad. It was delicious! And a perfect light lunch.

[[HIGHLIGHT]]Walnut Grill in SC is a nice place.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]It's setup for a great happy hour and after work libations meeting spot.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I enjoyed the lunch special of burger and salad. I gigged them a star because the burger was ordered medium and arrived still mooing. Service was excellent. Past experience with Walnut Grill has always been good. Wish the WC location was still there.

Posting my experience from April. I ordered a fish platter off the Lenten menu. The fish was amazing, great batter with the right about of crispness. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Tons of seating arrangements for meeting up with large or small groups.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The wait time from getting seated to getting food was lengthy but allowed conversations with my group.

Our waitress was prompt and attentive. The options for lunch were many. My brother and I enjoyed our selections. The food was not only good but they were good size lunch portions. The tea was good and cold. For the money this was a nice lunch.

We came for happy hour and sat on the patio. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The patio is great. Well ventilated and it was cool on a warmer day.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Which is very nice. We had a few appetizers. The potstickers and deviled eggs. The potstickers stole the show. They were perfectly cooked with a great dipping sauce. The deviled eggs were good. But just a little bland in my opinion. I had a blackberry mojito and my husband had an old fashioned which we both enjoyed. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Great service and atmosphere!![[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

Smash Burger!! Cute logo imprint as well.

I do want to recognize something about the name, Walnut Grill. It really does have a nice ring to it, and I suppose the same could be said for the menu as well. Fairly priced food, creative recipes, and the logo is also chic and simple. [[HIGHLIGHT]]It's a quiet, simple place for eating out.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] It's got everything a normal restaurant would-salads, wraps, burgers, pizzas, actually-isn't that a point of a grill? Nevermind, good nonethenless. Our server was a sweetheart. This place is possibly understaffed from what I could tell, but she was running and dashing everywhere like mad. She works so hard and still puts on a smile, a lovely staff member. It's too bad I never got her name. Food itself was average in my opinion. It depends what you order, actually. I'd recommend things on the pasta options, and the appetizers are also filling. Portions are big. Be prepared to share. Dessert made up for the basic food, and the portion for dessert was just right. It's exactly what I look for in a restaurant! Although being nothing but in the middle, I can consider that a good thing, please come with friends though. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Seating is varied and you will also never finish anything by yourself![[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I did liked this place, but I don't think I will order the same as last time. I do hope my next visit is potentially better.

This place is my family's go to. [[HIGHLIGHT]]We love the outdoor patio[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]], I get the walnut salmon with veggies every time. The service is solid.

Erica's Famous Frojito......someone forgot to add mint! Not really a mojito w/o the mint!

Walk in and there are plenty of tables, a couple of gathering areas, standing room narrow tables, an outdoor area, and a room off to the side. I went for the Logboat Dark Matter which I have had before in a can and wanted to try on draft. I enjoyed it very much. You know what is great?! We hand a bit of a wait, but that was to be expected since it was a nice (but very hot) day out. The patio was busy but not packed. The hostess was aware that we had a large dog, but still placed us in a very odd spot on the patio - with high rise tables squished together. We also had a decent amount of sun, so we couldn't stay long as it was just too hot and we didn't have a lot of space. They did also seat an elderly woman at the high top table behind us, who came in with a walker. I found that odd too - to make her try ti climb up in the chairs. Thankfully we were there to help her. Service was ok. Our waitress visited our table a few times at first but then disappeared for a long time before we could get another drink or eventually our check. Aside from the seating and most of the service, our visit was fine. Food was good. My drink was very strong but still fine. It was definitely a different experience than i remember from the past, so I was a tad disappointed. I should have asked to be moved, but we had waited so long already, I didn't want to wait more.

There was live music on the patio and a great crowd, which gave the whole place such a lively, fun atmosphere. Our server was knowledgeable, attentive, and made sure we were well taken care of throughout the night. We ordered a margarita and a glass of Prosecco, and both came out pretty quickly. Our food followed shortly after and everything arrived hot and fresh! The sausage and peppers pasta was fresh and absolutely delicious. The pork steak was MASSIVE, bone-in, and incredibly tender--it literally broke in half when I picked it up to box the leftovers! The cornbread that came with it was moist and savory rather than overly sweet, which I really enjoyed. We also tried the garlic shrimp appetizer. The shrimp themselves were clearly good quality and cooked perfectly, but the sauce was a little underwhelming and could have used more flavor. It definitely wasn't a complete miss, though, because the shrimp weren't overcooked and still had a great flavor on their own. Between the lively atmosphere, great service, quick food, and generous portions, we had a really enjoyable experience. We will definitely be back!

A one of a kind dive bar that is great for Blues games. Originally a filling station in 1904, it converted into a tavern in the 1930's. Grandfathered with local liquor licensing, TGI almost went extinct in 2010 when longtime owner Frank Rodman passed away (RIP). In 2012 it was purchased by former Blues hockey player Jim Campbell and his wife, Jennifer (a Kirkwood native), who did a thorough refresh and renovation. Jennifer's great uncle actually owned the tavern earlier in the 1960s, so it was a natural return to the family. They have a full bar with reasonably priced drinks. Didn't see a food menu (need to confirm cause looks like maybe they used to) but bar snacks (pretzels and chips). Someone ordered pizza delivered which seemed like a good option. The vibe is like you are inside a house, with couches and a fireplace. They have a small back patio to enjoy nice weather and they do allow smoking outside. For games, there's Golden Tee, a jukebox, and steel tip dart board (which was kinda blocked by Golden Tee). If you happen to be in Kirkwood and feeling thirsty, check it out.
