    Mom's Meatloaf
    Dustin U.

I had Mom's Meatloaf with Mac & Cheese and Corn. I can't put into words how underwhelming this meal was. Hungry man TV dinner comes to mind. I've had better meatloaf in an MRE while I'm the Army. The staff automatically included a 20% gratuity for our table of 5, which seemed odd. Nearly $17 for this meal and a water. This meal made meI'd of been happier if we'd gone to McDonalds.

Price discrepancies, small portions, high prices, and adds and automatic tip. First time in Dallas and to this place, but I am not certain I will return or if it's worth it.

We ordered from DoorDash so the only ambiance was in my living room. But at least their service was excellent. The food was so delicious! It had such a wonderful flavor. I can't even describe the flavors, but it was such an incredible blend of sweet, salty, and heat. Walter's kitchen is a must if you're on a quest for flavorful food.

I had an early morning flight and was staying at the hotel next-door as it is very close to Dallas Love Field. There was no room service or restaurant in the hotel, so I decided to search for nearby restaurants. When I went to the Walters kitchen website, I read his story. I think reading his history is what convinced me I had to try his place. We ordered nachos and a chicken fried steak dinner. The nachos were excellent with the works, except for jalapeños. I asked for them to leave those off. The chicken fried steak was absolutely huge and it covered almost everything else in the to-go box! it was cooked to perfection with the outside being very crispy and the inside, tender and juicy. The gravy comes on the side and you can order white or brown. The vegetables tasted fresh and the mashed potatoes were real. So creamy with little chunks of potato. We travel through Dallas several times a year and usually stay at this hotel the night before an early flight. I will definitely be returning to Walters kitchen.

Discrepancy in pricing- menu should read two different prices pending paying cash or card
    Eric S.

Beware! The prices listed on the men are not what gets printed on your bill. For example, menu reads 14.95 for meatloaf but bill rings up as 15.55. 60 cents is not a lot, but this tactic repeated over and over for customers throughout the day is dishonest. The food is good and the service is okay- but the waitress was not willing to correct the bill saying "prices are lower if you pay cash." They should correct their menu. It's not right, fair or honest. If you choose to eat here, tripple check your bill. And don't even get me started on the Fox news being broadcasted throughout the venue.

What a gem! We found this place during the 2023 Winter Storm; one of the few places even open today. From the time we pulled into the parking lot we've been impressed. It was one of the few parking lots that had been cleared off today. Upon walking inside we were greeted by Jodie and she was a joy to have as a server and bar tender. The drinks were very reasonable and the selection would rival any bar in Texas. The food was delicious! Walter, himself stopped by our table and visited with us for a few minutes. The menu has a wide selection of food to meet almost anyone's food preferences and is based on the types of food Walter likes. We were a party of 4 and we had the spring rolls (4 to an order). These were so good. Then between us we had the Chicken Fried Chicken, the Chicken Fried Steak, and Kung Pao Chicken. The fried steak and chicken looked hand breaded and the gravies (brown and white) were creamy and seasoned great. The Kung Pao Chicken was served with steamed white rice and had just the right amount of spice. The sides were all great too, green beans, pinto beans and corn were just like Momma's home cooking.

I'm not sure why this place isn't packed because the food is reasonably priced, good tasting food. The waitress was pleasant and helpful with food selections. She knows the menu well. My husband and I ordered from the Asian menu since the chef worked for another Asian restaurant chain for many years. The sauces on the chicken dishes were homemade and excellent. Others on the restaurant had large portions of chicken fried steak that looked good, and by the expressions and n their faces, I think they liked it.

The receipt enclosed show the gratuity of a family 6 with 3 being under 12.... There was no option for us to decide our own gratuity......
    Ashely B.

Coming into the restaurant we noticed no one was in, but since we stayed in the hotel right next to it, why not. Totally outrageous for breakfast. No options of gratuity at ALL... the food was decent but not worth this much. Small business restaurants we have to do better. We will support you but not like this....

My go too spot now. Not only is the food great, but the service given by the staff and owner makes it even more the reason why I love it!

Food is good but up charge is unreal. Nickel and diming for everything. Good place but billing is pretty inconsistent.

It's one of those places that's easy to return to because the experience is consistently solid, not just the food. The cucumber and spinach salads are almost automatic orders for us at this point. They're reliably bright and well balanced, and come out quick. We also make a point to check out the specials whenever they're available. They tend to reward repeat visits and usually give us something new to talk about on the way home. What really keeps us coming back, though, is the staff. They're consistently well trained, kind, and attentive without being overbearing. Even on busy nights, things move smoothly and calmly, which matters a lot when you're fitting dinner into a full family schedule. At this point, Hello Dumpling feels dependable in the best way. It's a place we trust for a good meal, thoughtful execution, and a welcoming experience every time.

The restaurant has vibrant decor and murals that transport you to a diverse neighborhood. Every employee who helped us was approachable and kind, checking on us after we were seated and served, going as far as taking photos for us when we asked because we were celebrating our anniversary, and bringing out things we asked for once we were seated. It seems basic to say that, but the warmth and kindness was felt from each employee we interacted with, and I don't want to gloss over their good service. Our order: - Angry Pho Birria Platter - Elote + Chips - Strawberry Lemonade - Ube Horchata The pho (a little spicy) and bao (a little sweet with super tender meat) will make you want to do a happy dance. The wings could have been a little crunchier but they were sauced so it's understandable. The Bang Bang and Spicy Chili flavors were delicious. The Birria tacos were good, but we loved everything else on the platter more. The Elote + chips starter was authentic and yummy. The chips felt like an odd pairing, but it tasted good together! The Strawberry Lemonade was sweet but refreshing. The Ube Horchata was creamy and delicious. Not too sweet, and the ice didn't ruin it. Know before you go: - Arrive early! We got there when they opened at 11 AM on a Friday. Two other parties were already there and waiting to dine, as well. By 11:30 AM, a nice-sized crowd had rolled in. They had no problem getting everyone served quickly, though. - You order and pay first, grab a seat, and then they bring your food out to you. - Yes, the platter sizes are sufficient for two hungry adults to fill up on! You might even have trouble finishing it all. - Their online menu has awesome pictures of each platter option. The platters look smaller in person than in those photos, but as I said, you will definitely get full. - My husband, who is not a pho lover, loved the Angry Pho. - They are closed on Saturdays and Mondays. - They have gluten-free and halal options.

Literally a flavor bomb in every bite! They have an extensive menu with so many unique dishes. It was hard to order one dish so we just had to order it all :) The Saltado was the best I've ever had! It was so bomb! The fries were somehow still crispy even though it's tossed in this delicious sauce! Meat was tender and melt in your mouth good! I also loved the burger! We cut pieces so we can all try the different dishes, and I kept cutting pieces of the burger! I've also been on a burger kick lately to try to find the best burger and this one is high up the list! It was surprisingly hot for a good 15 mins. The meat was well seasoned and the onion, cheese meat and sauce all blended so well. Little bit salty and a little bit sweet with the grill onions. The wings were also crispy with this nice sweet chili sauce! Cooked to perfection! I really liked the curry pho! It's a green curry with a little kick to it. They have quite a few different vegan options and this is a dish that can be made vegan. You can dip the Birria tacos in this pho consume which is so fire! It's so good you just want to drink it up lol I added some of their habenero hot sauce and it was just the perfect birria bites. The phorrito is pho filling wrapped in rice and fried! You gotta wash all these delicious meals down with a lychee peach tea! It hit the spot lol it was so refreshing with the perfect amount of flavor and sweetness. This is a must try place if you're in the area!

I resolved to venture into the Uptown district, expecting a standard afternoon refreshment, but instead discovered a thoroughly exciting and magnificent sanctuary. I must confess, I have not dined out for an evening meal in quite some time, and I truly did not believe an environment could match the sheer, captivating wonder of the Dallas Aquarium until today. The exterior presentation and the interior architecture of this establishment are absolutely spectacular. The meticulous attention to Feng Shui within the space creates a wonderfully harmonious, elevated energy that I found immensely pleasing. Upon crossing the threshold, I observed an exquisite selection of premium delicacies, including pristine sushi and uni. A thoroughly charming gentleman promptly extended a warm welcome and graciously educated me on the venue's unique concept. To begin my late intermission, I requested a crisp Lychee Martini a preparation for which I possess an absolute weakness, and it was executed to perfection. While perusing the menu, I noted an array of classic staples such as lo mein and pad thai. I must be entirely candid: given the initial presentation, I fully anticipated a strictly Japanese concept, but the menu beautifully expands into a grand celebration of pan-Asian culinary traditions. On that realization, I selected the Pad Thai for my main course. The culinary execution was an absolute triumph remarkably fresh, perfectly balanced, and an absolute treat to the palate. I have become entirely enamored with this magnificent find and shall most certainly be returning for future upscale luncheons
