Fried rice in the shape of a heart
    Trish A.

The hubster and I ventured down to EG to meet friends for dinner. It wasn't until we arrived that I realized I had eaten here before, but it had been about 11 years before. Wasabi is a great little gem! Plenty of seating inside for small or larger parties and this is a terrific spot for celebratory meals. Their food is prepared fresh and tonight ours was done so by Michael in front of us on the hibachi. So fun! The flair, the scents, the fun, and the food were all wonderful. As you can tell I took pictures DURING our meal prep, but then gobbled up my dinner so quickly, I failed to photograph the delicious we were served. If you want a luncheon or dinner with fun and food Wasabi is the place in Elk Grove to go. I was grateful to be back...wish I lived closer!

This place is great and usually packed but we lucked out and were able to be seated immediately! Service was excellent, our chef, Jacky was fun, lighthearted, entertaining and cooked our food to perfection. My son and I each had the steak and scallops, my father had oysters to start and chicken, shrimp scallops for dinner.

Took my dad here for his birthday today. It was packed. Every single grill had seated guests. The business was bustling. For appetizers we got the deep fried shrimp, calamari, and veggie combo. It was a 5/10. Definitely had no flavor and calamari was chewy. Wouldn't order again. The Wakame salad was on the sweeter side 7/10. I ordered the scallops, steak, and chicken. My husband, my mom, and my dad both got steak, shrimp, scallops. We all got garlic bacon fried rice besides my mom who got steamed rice. Bacon makes everything better! Our hibachi chef was Tuan. Every time I've had him, his shows are good and the food is perfect. Today was nothing different. So much so, I had to update my review. Portions are great. Food is delicious. Entrees come with soup and salad. My son got a kids meal, which comes with either or. The Service was good. I'd say you're paying for the food + show because I wouldn't consider this cheap. Great place for celebrations! Come try this place if you haven't already!

Service was friendly and prompt. We sat at the bar since we only wanted sushi and sashimi. We ordered combo #2 with Hawaiian Roll, tuna nigri, salmon nigri and unagi nigri. The Hawaiian Roll was served without tobiko (menu said it comes with tobiko). The rice lacked the traditional sushi rice flavor (rice wine vinegar and sugar). We have not tried their teppenyaki, it does look entertaining.

If you're looking for a Benihana-type restaurant (teppanyaki style), look no further. This hidden gem in an EG strip mall is a great place to go to. This evening, Michael was our Chef, he was quite entertaining and funny. We had the steak and shrimp; shrimp and scallops; kids meal steak and kids meal chicken with the garlic fried rice. Everything was great and the servings were generous. Will definitely be back.

Chef Michael was funny and super sweet and great at his job. Food was amazing and flavorful. Severs could be better they didn't check on us much or refill drinks until the end of the night but our chef made it all better. Nice clean ambiance.

We've been here a few times for dinner and for take out orders. We were here on August 25th for our 24th wedding anniversary with family. The food was delicious and our chef Michael was polite, funny and did an amazing job cooking our food. Everyone we encountered during our dinner was polite and friendly.

I visited Wasabi on Sunday, 10/01/23, for an early dinner. I decided to order the Shrimp, Scallops, and Lobster combination dinner plate, which came with soup, a salad, and a choice of rice. I opted for the Bacon Fried Rice. Additionally, I got the Shrimp Tempura Maki Roll. Everything was delicious from start to finish! The portion of the meal was generous as well. The service could have been a little better. The attentiveness was lacking during this visit. Overall, Wasabi's food is fantastic. I do recommend coming here.

Ambiance Fun atmosphere with the grills. Place is clean. There is a small bar. Rate 5 Service Had to ask waitress a couple of times for low sodium soy sauce. She forgot something else. She was very nice. Our chef lacked passion, I don't think he smiled once, wait he did when he dropped the egg. He was just going through the motions. Come on man, u r suppose to entertain us. Rate service 3.5 Food Dragon Roll Very good. Spicy Chicken Great flavor Shrimp Cooked perfectly Garlic fried rice Tasty Grilled Vegetable Tasty Rate the above 5 Steak I think it was sirloin. I asked chef about the cut, he said it is from the shoulder. Not impressed, just ok. Rate 3. One last thing, ice cold beer in chilled glass.

We celebrate our daughter's 11th birthday dinner there with 8 of her friends. They were very attentive & very nice to the kids. We got in & out. And had a great birthday celebration. We loved they had a kids hibachi menu too!!! Made it affordable for a large group.

Expect to wait an hour for your food after you have been seated. We arrived close to opening at noon on a Sunday and did not leave until 2pm which is when they close for lunch. We sat at the back right side of the restaurant which is where the AC is blasting so it can get very cold when seated here. We started with the Ika Maruyaki (Teriyaki grilled squid) and for $28 this was a miss. No tentacles were served and the squid did not taste very fresh. It's really not worth the price point and I don't recommend it. The next appetizer was the toro roll and I think I need to order more sushi next time. The fish was incredibly fresh with a perfect amount of rice and high quality nori. I ordered the tempura udon - you really can't go wrong with the tempura here. It has a crisply light batter that is not too thick or oily. My husband got the tonkatsu curry and this always hits. The curry is so aromatic with the warm spices and the katsu is perfectly battered and cooked.

I loved it just as it ORIGINALLY was, but the upgrades are AMAZING... The main entrance has been totally remodeled and a beautiful bar has been added. They also changed the tv area, in the main entrance, to look like the windows of an airplane instead of playing destinations on the screen, which I LOVED, because it enabled me to see sky views of places I have never and may never visit. They were playing soccer, which I understand, because the world is watching the World Cup. One of my favorite things was the hot, moist hand towels given at the beginning of your meal. I LOVED it. I thought it was so elegant and sopisticated. I am not a fan of washing my hands and then eating from a public restaurant, touch on the door to enter and exit. Now they provide the hand towels at the end of your meal, but this is fine dining, I am not using my hands to eat, and I have a napkin, if needed. So, I would prefer to cleanse my hands at the beginning of my meal. I sat in the newly renovated area which looked like the inside of an airplane. Sooooooooo, DOPE!!! It was BEAUTIFULY done! Felt FIRST CLASS, all the way. The furniture was AMAZING and looked elegant and high class. Some things on the menu had changed, but that is to be expected. My meal was delicious. I loved the free glass of champagne with my 1/2 dozen order of Oysters, which were scrumptious. They also updated their front patio, where after my meal I enjoyed a cigar. Plenty of seating. Every table is covered by HUGE umbrellas. What I thought was cute and unique, when I had finished my meal and paid my bill, I was given a token. There are gift machines inside and on the patio. Eventually, I had to go find her and ask for the check, which is something I've never had to do at a restaurant before.
