We went here on a Sunday night. This location is small and the wait time is long (because they make it fresh) so good luck finding a seat during really busy times. The staff was very friendly and helpful. We ordered 3 burgers and the cajun tots. When the food came out we thought our order was wrong because several of the toppings were not visible. They came over and said they were on there. We lifted up the meat patty and sure enough, there was something were. I had the double with mushroom, lettuce, tomato, pickles and buffalo bleu. There was one ugly tomato, a lettuce leaf, 3 pickles, about 4 tiny sliced mushrooms, and a small dot of buffalo bleu. Another burger only had meat and cheese which was correct, the other barely had any mushrooms or grilled onions either. The tots were good and crunchy, the tot sauce was pretty good too. I was just disappointed in the toppings as you could not even taste them. The bun was soft too and I am not a fan of stick to the roof of your mouth bread. The food was not bad, the meat was good but the portion size of the toppings was just silly. Otherwise nothing was my first trip to way back Burgers. My girlfriend has been here for times. She swears by there burgers. Today I decided to try their Philadelphia cheesesteak. Overall it was very good, the bread was fresh the meat with tasty but there were less onions and cheese on and in it than I would like would have liked. Next time I'll remember to order it with extra onions and extra cheese. I also ate an order of their Cajun tater tots. They served the tater tots with a Cajon remoulade sauce. Tater tots we're good and spicy, the sauce added to the experience. This time my girlfriend ate the chicken caesar salad. Although I did not taste the salad or chicken, I did taste a little of the dressing on one of my tater tots. It seemed like good dressing, and she liked it. I'm sure we will be back. The staff seemed friendly and at the time we were there it was full of people. I would say that they need to spend a little more attention on their trash cans though and possibly clean their glass windows. Expensive, not that yummy and messes up the order every single time in a bad enough way I have to go back and wait for them to make food again. IE today I had ordered chicken tenders for my son but they decided to toss them in spicy buffalo sauce so I had to drive back through and wait 10 min for them to be remade. I would think after being open for a few years now they would have worked out these kinks but I purposely avoid this place and go maybe once a year when I feel like giving them another chance. Went on a Thrusday night had one car in front of us. When we ordered asked what type of oil they use in thier fryer (peanut allergy) . The cashier said he didn't know and when he went to check still didn't know. We ordered a Philly cheese steak, cheesy burger, Cajun tots. We sat in the line with the car ahead of us and a car behind us trapped for about 40 minutes. The person behind us got of their car went to go inside and check to see what was taking so long. Every time I come to this place, I always order the Buffalo Fried Chicken Sandwich. I love how the sandwich is light and does is not too fatty/greasy like other places. It's been a while we've been to Wayback burgers. The kids insisted so we came here on a Thursday night. The person at the counter was very patient and helped us with our order. I explicitly asked for a burger with only cheese and lettuce and the burger came with everything on it. I politely told them and there was literally no response . We went to the new location in Leander; absolute fail. The milkshakes were literally milk that sloshed around in a cup and one was 3/4 full and lukewarm. I asked about them and was told they were having a refrigeration problem. The manager came out and made another two, they were at least cold but still not to the standard of a $6.49 milkshake and one was still sloshy. I had the chili dog, chili was horrible and the split dog while a good plan was not grilled. Family had burgers and there are simply so many better options in the area. As a final insult to injury, the drinks are placed right next to people trying to order so you have to pry the 3 year old hanging from the counter to attempt a refill but that was all for naught as the iced tea remained unfilled for the duration of our stay. Slowly going through local places since we are new to the area. Reviews here are speaking the truth: the food is good but the customer service is not. The young man taking our order checked to see if they had cream or sugar for coffee - they do not and only have black coffee. He wasn't the issue here - he was very kind. We asked for food to go. A young lady brought the food out on a tray and we advised we requested to go. We were polite but she seemed annoyed she had to take the food back and put everything in to-go containers. Absolutely one of the freshest and most satisfying burgers in the Austin/Round Rock area!! Ingredients are so fresh and full of flavor. The service was professional and friendly. This is a fresh burger, not McDonalds. Give a few extra minutes to get a really top quality dining experience. They are easily accessible and plenty of parking. It is quaint and extra clean restaurant. The owner is especially friendly and genuine. She came by to get our feedback, and was very interested in our thoughts. I am not sure about some of the nasty comments others have made regarding this restaurant. Seems to be some really unhappy people in general. Honestly the burger is good. The customer service is not. When I downloaded the app for my first purchase it offered a free classic burger w purchase. I went in store to add a milkshake which took 20 minutes when there were 3 people in store. I got the email confirming the burger but when I went into the app it wasn't there. I just called to clarify and understand how I could order plus get my free burger. They told me I was lying about the email and it never happened. The manager was shouting in the background but wouldn't get on the phone to discuss. Way too many burger options around here to settle on a place that has little to no customer service. I have now been back twice recently after the place has been open for several months and gotten their act together and have now upgraded my review from 2 to 4 stars. Meals are now as ordered, as pictured, cooked well, and of reasonable proportions. Overall the food is very good. Still not as good as hopdoddys but good enough for a local burger joint.
