As someone who has lived VA wine country I understand VA wine. However, the wine served was old and undrinkable. I have never spent 100 dollars on food I could not eat. We were in and out in about thirty mintues and would not want to spend anymore time there. We recently visited Charleston & discovered this qaint little place in the French Quarter mainly due to the interesting name "Well Hung" that we learned has to do with bunches of grapes being "well hung". The food was delicious, but there is a TON of good food in Charleston. The wine was sub par, at best, and not worth the cost. We informed the waiter we had a peanut/tree nut allergy and she told the kitchen; when our charcuterie board (also delicious) it had ham with nuts in it. read more

Let me start with the server Abigail was wonderful and worked so hard to make this a nice dining experience. First they were out of cheesesteak potato skins that we were looking forward to. Then they came back and said they were out of portobello fries, but they charged us for them. The king st flatbread was delicious! The waffle burger was cooked rare-they didn't even ask how we wanted it cooked. Then halfway through there was a hair in it. The vegetable pasta was worse than frozen dinner. No flavor, no sauce, drenched in flavorless oil. I mean why no cheese, black pepper, or cream. Terrible! The mimosa flight was awful! Waste of $25. read more

Visiting from Boston for the month and had brunch last week here. It is a fun place. We sat outside and had a great view of the hustle and bustle down below. The food was terrific, waffle burger, fusilli Caesar salad, and portobello fries for an appetizer. Also had Bloody Mary's which were some of the best we have had. Our waitress, Brittany was terrific. She was knowledgeable about the menu and the drinks. She was very sweet and showed some of that real southern hospitality. We stopped into Well Hung for dinner tonight when passing through Charleston. We sat upstairs where it was cozy. It was a delicious dinner and what made it an even nicer experience was our server, Emily. She was incredibly knowledgeable about every food/drink item we asked about and her bubbly personality made it so pleasant! We ordered the jambalaya, the mahi mahi, and the salmon. Had lunch on a Friday afternoon. No hostess at the podium, so we walked up the stairs. We were told to sit anywhere and then we were moved because the table was saved for a food tour that was coming later. No one greeted us for 15-20 minutes after that. Finally, a server took our food order and after 45-50 minutes, the food came. No one communicated to us at all during that time waiting.
