I've eaten at What The Pho when they used to be in 99 ranch and I've ordered delivery in plano/murphy countless times. I'm usually too lazy to write reviews but they've literally never did me dirty when i order delivery from them. Their bun rieu is THE best I've had in viet restaurants cuz usually others miss the mark n the broth tends to be a bit bland but WTP's bun rieu is hands down the best for me altho i think they just took it down from ubereats. Love their banh khot but it's just similar to banh xeo anyway so I'd rather order that. Their bun cha hanoi is sooo good, i do add a little of the pho beef broth to the sauce and it goes well together too. Their banh mi selection isnt as wide in variety as when they used to be at 99 ranch but still better than the banh mis around. When u judge pho, u judge the broth. Their pho broth is amazingly seasoned even with no hoisin or sriracha. I used to be a bit skeptical of the authenticity in taste from the punny name but u def should take this place serious bc everything I've tried here has always been delicious. You would think delivering would lose some points in taste but nope, it's always been good--if its not hot enough to cook the noodles then i would just heat the soup broth until boiling. The duck spring rolls is a must and their appetizer platter is all delicious. Also other places rarely have durian smoothie so if u like it, they have it here. I love pho especially when it's 17 degrees outside and you're sick. I ordered pho to go from here. I ordered the chicken pho with beef broth, and it was probably one of the best ones I have had in a while. I also ordered eggrolls just to try it, and it was pretty good. If you're lazy, they are on Uber Eats, and prices are decent. I will definitely eat from here again. The servings are huge! read more

I've only had the Pho here. Their bowls are huge! It's so big I can't finish a bowl... You can't expect everything to be well organized and clean here. I mean, it's a small restaurant/food court inside a super market. Once you order at the counter and if you're eating there, you are given a water jug with water from I don't know when... some have ice in it and some don't. I'm guessing the ones that don't, originally did have ice but has melted since. I don't know if they clean out the water after every customer or not but I feel like it's a bit unsanitary... 99% of the time, I just get Pho here. Ideally you would want your Bean Sprouts, Basil, Lemon, Jalapeño to come with your food or before but there are often times it comes after you get your food or you have to ask. I think this is a chain from Bistro B?? The flavor is consistent because of that. read more

I went to pick up what I thought would be a quick togo order, but somehow beef pho and spring rolls took 25 minutes. It feels like I only even got the food that "quick" because I finally walked up to ask about it. It's a cheap pho place with subpar service. I would come back because this place is easy to order and food comes quickly. Quality was decent, but not the best I have ever eaten. However, I was also extremely tired and hungry so based on that -- I think the food was pretty good. It's more of a quick cafeteria eat than anything else. The inside is very basic and the neon says it all. I wouldn't invite your business partner here, but I would eat here if I was grocery shopping and in the area and needed some quick eats. I ordered a rice plate with grilled pork and my husband had a pho bowl. Everything was in pretty big portions and I didn't end up finishing my food. I have no complaints about food, although it was pretty packed at 9pm on a Saturday. Again, don't come expecting great service or atmosphere or you will be severely disappointed. I don't normally write reviews on food places inside a supermarket. But I'm making an exception here. It's a Vietnamese noodle place. What's impressive is the generous portion of food. I'm not sure. Perhaps they get the ingredients at lower costs since it's right inside a big grocery store. We've been here more than a couple of times. Every time we order the beef soup noodles. The size of the bowl is unusually big. Looks like it can hold a gallon of liquid. You won't believe until you see it. It's not just the big bowl, the items, like beef, tripe, and tendon, are also plenty. You definitely get more than you deserve. In addition to noodles, they have a good variety of items at the counter, such as Vietnamese sandwiches, shrimp spring rolls, desserts, and drinks. One thing that bothers me is the lights. They may think it's cute to have the flashing, spinning multi-colored lighting. But actually it hurts my eyes and makes me feel dizzy when I think about it. But once you start enjoying your food, it becomes something like "white noise". And you don't notice it any more. This place in my opinion screams the word "value" . The combo menu C was what I ordered last time and comes with a combination noodle soup, 4 egg rolls and one drink. All that only for 12 bucks. This place is cheap for pho if you're not really looking for high quality pho. The pho broth is just okay but they give you a big bowl of pho. I usually order the suasage spring rolls when I come here but the last time I came, they used withered lettuce (I can tell from looking at the lettuce while eating it). I left living in the 214, (469 if ya nasssty, 972 if you ain't..) and like a million great Asian places opened up. Now you got Indian, Chinese, Viet, Korean, etc. all up in the Frisco Mckinney area. Well mainly Plano, Frisco kinda sucks still. But point is, growing up there was not a whole lot of great Asian places to eat for an Asian person. If you were white and didn't care then the world was your oyster. You had a plethora of Chinese Buffets named after pandas or kings, and enough drive thrus dishing out sweet and sour chicken and General Tso's you would think the General was invading the Texas. All looked delicious and tasted that way. I also ordered an orange tea drink that was citrus and good. A bit sweet, almost too too sweet but good. All the food tasted fresh, well cooked, and unique in that although it presented all of what you would expect in Vietnamese food it just tasted I don't know.. more alive or young? But less creepy sounding. I guess maybe what I mean is it felt like unlike many of the other restaurants Viet or not, this place felt young enough still where they are trying to prove they are worthy. Like that they can hang and haven't gotten complacent...yet.. hopefully never. One more thing I must mention is the Bahn mi. My only regret was not ordering more. I ordered two to go for my later obesity. Cold cult classic and a pork one. The sandwiches like all the items were reasonably and fairly priced. Almost too good of a deal. Located inside 99 Ranch Market. It's a Pho place that's just okay but if you're new to Pho soups, this is acceptable. The price is very reasonable at $7.00 a bowl but there's a reason why they're cheap. It taste like they use instant pho cubes seasoning and not the actual fresh herbs more expensive restaurants use. The soup is dark which is a bad sign and the service is slow. Expect the wait time to be at least 15 minutes. This place ain't all bad. The Bahn Mi sandwiches are very good and the price is cheap. BOGO specials all the time so you get 2 nice sandwiches for $4.00 only. The meats have a curry seasoning and the French Bread they use is fresh & crunchy. We wanted to like this place based on the menu offerings but the food was subpar. The Cornish hen was extremely dried out as tho it was re-air fried so it was left mostly uneaten. The carmelized catfish had an unclean smell and did not have any of the flavor of the sauce in it. The fried calamari tasted ok but the oily batter was hanging on only by a thread. Yes, this place is inside of the 99 Ranch grocery store, and yes, it is good. My favorite part of the entire place is that you can seat yourself, get your own extra bowls, utensils, napkins, and to-go boxes if needed. You stand in a queue and get a number when you order. They give you a bottle of water with a number on it, which is how they find you. With kids, we can get our own bowl to share the pho with them. The staff is friendly and they have a permanent special, buy one get one free banh mis. I always get some to go for later. At $3.99 (so $2 each), it is a great deal. The pho is decent. The reason for 3 stars is that the dining area is dizzying. They have these disco laser lights that simply have to go. read more

I've been here twice and have had the lunch sandwiches, rare beef pho, and a cantaloupe/honeydew/watermelon drink. Get ready for some giant portions. What they lack in flavor, they more than make up with size. The noodles and beef are plentiful and the bowls are bigger than my head. I like the simplicity and consistency of What the Pho. Their food is always prepared well, large portions and very reasonably priced. I come here whenever I come in to town. Thank goodness my best friend lives close by! The other pluses are their cleanliness, ease of menu and ordering, and the variety of items that accommodate most everyone (even kids).
