Had a fantastic brunch over Labor Day weekend. They had a seasonal creamsicle frose that went over easy, maybe a little too easy because two and I needed a nap after brunch. Everything we got was fantastic but their loaded fries were incredible. The only teeny tiny thing to note if you bring little ones is that their kids hamburger is served on a bao bun so be forewarned if you have picky eaters. Jalissa and Anthony could not be more kind and give amazing recommendations not only for their own restaurant but things to do around the city. Everything so good. The food was really unique and tasty. We didn't have a bad meal. The sauces were also amazing. The drinks were super tasty we loved trying different ones. They also have a good selection of mock tails for the non-drinkers. The outdoor area was so cute. They had heaters and it was enclosed, so even though it was a cold day we were super comfortable out there. The restaurant itself was so cute inside and out. The atmosphere is so welcoming, the staff is very friendly, there's plenty of food to pick from (vegetarian options included). The drinks were phenomenal and the little sliders/sandwiches off their happy hour menu were delicious! I really really liked the blackened grouper slider. My friends both got the burger and enjoyed it. I'm giving it 4 stars though because I didn't think the tuna tartare was very good and the okonomiyaki fries were good but not great. We decided on dinner here bc the menu has some really interesting vegetarian & vegan options, GF options and they had a dog friendly patio. What kept this entree from being 5 stars was the veggies - they had a funny taste to them - either odd flavor or it tasted like they were not fresh. My husband ordered the blackened salmon rice risotto and he really liked the fish. While the upstairs patio is dog friendly - it is very narrow and tight. Very sleek restaurant in Atlanta with great service and amazing food! We came for brunch on a Saturday. We did make reservations but it looked like we could have found a seat without. But definitely recommend for larger parties. We were sat immediately and the server was amazing- super friendly and attentive. She also made sure to ask if we had any dietary restrictions or allergies. I ordered the Caribbean iced coffee, which was so good. Perfect hint of coconut and cinnamon, and a great way to start the day. We also ordered the Peruvian tacos as an appetizer. The chicken was delicious and the tacos were so crunchy- highly recommend! For entrees, we ordered the breakfast sandwich and the chicken and waffle. The sandwich had perfect proportions of egg, hash brown, bacon, and sauce. The side salad was a fresh addition as well. My husband's chicken and waffle was fun and delicious as well! The bubble waffle was awesome and the chicken was amazingly crunchy. The fruit on the side was ripe and super tasty. We sat in the front of the building but it looked bigger when you walked towards the back and even had a nice little patio. Street parking is minimal, but doable. And we were in and out in an hour! I felt so-so after visiting Whiskey Bird. It's been on my list for a while now but I wasn't wow'd! Reservations are easy to make on Open Table. It is located in Morningside near Alon's Bakery! You had street parking options or you can park across the street for free! We had reservations for Saturday night and were seated promptly when we arrived. While I did not try out the whisky options, I decided to give many of their shareable plates a try!! We got the sampler - Whole Shebang ($26), which had 7 or so skewers to sample. This was my favorite part of the meal. The octopus, shrimp, peppers and mushrooms were yum. So flavorful. We also got the fries, the chicken gyoza tacos, ahi tuna gyoza tacos, the sliders and the Brussels. The food was good but not wow IMO. I can't express what my expectations were but I was hoping that I would be licking the plate clean. The tacos were too loaded and too saucy, sliders felt bao bun heavy (as compared to everything else in the bite I took). Again, the food was not bad, it didn't live up to the hype I had set it out to be. Now, would I be back - yes. Different day, different vibe and different experience. It could have been an off day for my taste buds or for WB but I hope my next meal is more delightful. read more

Visiting ATL from VA and this place exceeded our expectations! This place is a wonderful Asian fusion restaurant that's so relaxing and cute inside. There is a little tree inside covered in lights and paper cranes and just really sets the ambiance for a great night with good vibes. We had 2 servers, one in training, however she could have definitely done it all on her own. They both were super helpful in our selections with the menu and advice about the town (since we're visiting from VA). Their recommendations were delicious and we're glad we took their advice. The food was more than amazing. We started off with the Hong Kong sliders and it came with a side of their Whiskey Bird sauce and ranch. The ranch was my absolute FAVORITE omg. Service and ambiance was amazing at Whiskey Bird. If you're going to order anything here, get the Crispy Brussels Sprouts ($14). It comes with bacon, Chinese vinegar, takoyaki, bonito flakes, and Whiskey Bird sauce. It also came with a fried egg, but we opted to get our appetizer without it. This place also has the best Bloody Mary ($12) I've ever had! I ordered the Bao Benedict ($14) for my main entree. It consisted of two poached eggs, chicken sausage, and smoked Gouda fondue. Unfortunately, I didn't like it and couldn't eat more than half of it. The eggs were too soft for me, while the chicken sausage was hard and tasted off. Additionally, there was way too much smoked Gouda fondue over the eggs, which made the entire dish taste only of the fondue. The bao bread was also not as soft as baos generally are. Wasn't super hungry so a friend and I decided to split their yakitori--the whole shebang--and then the Peruvian chicken gyoza and the ahi tuna gyoza. The yakitori platter was a great shareable appetizer for maybe at most 2 people. For 3+ I would order another plate. For stuff like this there's of course some additives that you like more than the other. We really enjoyed the chicken meatballs and the shrimp so if ordering again we'd definitely probably get those two solely maybe. The gyoza tacos were...interesting. I wish the shelling was a bit softer as it kind of felt like biting into a cracker or a rice cake. Not what I was expecting for a taco. But they were still good. The grouper sandwich is made with a saltine crust, yuzu tarter and napa slaw. It's normally served with greens which we swapped out for fries. Even the bun is special, from Alon's bakery across the street. My favorite kind of brunch includes a bloody mary, and their's is wonderful. Even the salt and who-knows-what on the rim, is just right. We are not a super easy group to serve with foodies who ask a lot of questions and we share some costs across separate checks. UPDATE: Getting off the airplane and touching down in Atlanta and people have no idea how to deplane so I have a bunch of extra time to pre snipe my annual review of the best restaurant in the country. This is a review into the future of what's gonna happen a couple of hours from now: The Hong Kong sliders are going to bang per usual, the pretty or handsome bartender is going to make all of my cocktails with love and care and to perfection, and my server is going to be perfect and make the best suggestions on an already familiar menu. I'm going to pay a FAR MORE THAN REASONABLE price for yet again ANOTHER banging meal, THEN im gonna be mad about walking out the door and waiting probably another year to get it. If I had the funds available I would make sure I bought a home 1 minute away by walking distance in Atlanta so I couldn't enjoy this everyday. And before I leave please let me address the specific reviewers who leave anything inbetween 1 and 4 stars for things outside of a restaurants control like: the amount of people in the restaurant while you're there, or the parking situation. I can't say how I truly feel on here but you don't belong anywhere near a social media platform that lets you give your opinion. You're single celled amoebas. Bless this damn restaurant. Went for brunch. Website says brunch ends at 2:30 but the bartender told me they stop seating for brunch at 3. I went by myself so I think the bar service was great and she was attentive if I needed her. They don't have a big bar area but it's very cute inside. They do have a lot of tables and seem to have a back patio space maybe. Also able to order a drink from outside to walk with. I got the fried chicken breakfast burrito. It's incredibly large but I was able to eat half and saved the other half for later. It's very flavorful and filling. Comes with a nice side salad.
