We thought we were the only car in line, but we turned the corner and there was one car waiting. I thought they must have ordered a lot because we were waiting at least five minutes for our turn. Once they left, we timed a 10 min wait, but that's when we really started paying attention to the time. We weren't greeted right away or anything. Eventually, a woman with a beautiful fro came out and asked if we paid. No, "hello or sorry for the wait." Her tone was annoyed that we were there. She took my card and left it in the machine awhile and walked away. I HATE when employees do this especially when there isn't a line. She gave us our drink and still didnt know what was going on. Eventually, an older black woman came out and she seemed like someone in charge. She was very polite, but you could tell she was stressed. Eventually they did start to form a line of 3 cars. We ordered a medium 4 slider meal and one cheese fry ($17 something). It's not a large order. We finally were able to leave. I hadn't tried White Castle in 18 or so years. My teenage son wanted to try it. The food is so gross and soggy he didn't want to eat his other slider. I'm going to start this review off with the statement that Harold and Kumar overhyped this establishment. I ate in the establishment, not the drive thru, and it was terrible. The restaurant wasn't the cleanest, but it wasn't the dirtiest. I was particularly bothered by the soda machines as I tried three beverages at one machine and it didn't taste like Coke nor Diet Coke. Disappointing. I tried a beverage at the soda machine near the bathroom, and alas it did not taste good at all. The food wasn't terrible, as my partner enjoyed the sliders. Went through the drive thru yesterday and it was interesting because they have an automated system that you speak to to order. You do have the option to speak to a real person though if you wish. The line moved at a reasonable speed and the food was good. The lady with purple hair was working the drive thru and was very nice and attentive. The price is very reasonable and surprisingly the meals were filling! I ordered the Mac n cheese nibblers and they were forgotten on my order so i came back through the drive thru to get them and they helped me right out. However, they weren't the best. Quite possibly the worst White Castle in the entire company chain. A poor facsimile of what White Castle is... providing Arizona with a poor result that many wouldn't know any better. How does that even happen? Visit White Castle, in Indiana, Ohio, etc.... You get a consistent result. This is nearly a White Castle in name only. I just ordered as the only vehicle there at 11:45pm. Since the drive-through uses an automated attendant at the screens, I was not spoken to at all. Not spoken to when a live person took my credit card, by walking up to the car and out of the building... (Yes, White Castle frequenters... Walking out of the building and walking up to the car to take your payment. I told you it was odd.) Nevertheless, I was not spoken to when I was handed my drink, nor spoken to when my food was provided seven minutes later. I pulled up about 12:30 when they should be busy with a lunch crowd and tried to order and waited for 10 minutes with screen saying a team member will be with us soon and only 2 cars ahead of us. Wow what a huge disappointment!! I'm 62 years old and grew up in Michigan with a White Castle less than a mile away from my home. Growing up going there throughout my childhood, teenage years, and going there as an adult after the bar closed, etc etc... I didn't expect my first visit to this location 50+ years later to be exactly the same, but I didn't expect it to be this horrible either. The building was nice and modern inside, but the food was horrible!! Ordered a 4 slider combo meal with an EXTRA order of fries. I ordered at the self service kiosk to go. No receipt printed out from the printer after I paid. When they handed me my bag I looked in and saw only one order of fries. I called one of the employees over to tell him I ordered an extra fry, he looked up and told me no I didn't and walked away. No receipt to prove it. So I went back to the kiosk and ordered fries again. Another customer standing nearby was complaining to the worker that the printer paper is always out when they come there. Very suspicious... My fries were barely warm. The 4 slider buns were soggy, the meat was wafer thin, was halfway hanging off the bun, onions everywhere and everything was mushy when I bit in. Not to mention how TINY the burgers were too. No where close to the size and quality of the food I remember back home growing up. So over-priced for the size and substandard quality of food. The employees were all high school age and had no customer service engagement skills, no surprise. What a bad experience. Would give less than zero stars if I could. I have ben eating White Castle all my life being from Chicago. They can't go wrong in my eyes. I have never seen a WC this modern and big. I was driving through Phoenix (Scottsdale) and had to stop. Once you make your way through the maze of cones leading to Drive Thru, you can then place your order. I got there on a Wednesday around 1pm-ish. There were 2 other cars in line. I ordered and moved through quickly. The staff was really friendly. The way it was set up, everyone had a separate job allowing traffic to move smoothly. I was helped by 3 different people. The burgers tasted exactly the same as I remember. Not sure why they have received so many bad reviews. It's White Castle not fine dining. What are you expecting? The White Castle in Scottsdale is what one would expect; an eye-catching building with a spacious dining area inside. I hadn't been to one in a few years, but was glad to see the variety of choices on the menu. The staff was friendly and helped in making decisions on what was the best deal for my order (I went with the 8 and 10 Cheeseburger Slider Meals). The carry-out meals were good as expected; we don't live near Scottsdale but the next time we're in the area White Castle will definitely be on our radar for good eats! Been wanting to try this place and see if the hype was worth the wait! Monday around 5 we pull in to about 8 cars in front of us in the drive thru. After seeing all of the other photos and reviews that they waited an hour we were feeling lucky. We ordered the #9 shareable combo plus 3 small drinks. We spent about 15 minutes in line before we were pulling out. Park in the shade at the adjacent hotel to eat in the car. We still aren't comfortable dining in yet. 10 sliders with cheese. I must say I actually prefer the grocery frozen variety. I like the strong dehydrated onion flavor you get with the frozen even though the pickle slice was a nice addition. The fries, nothing special and lacking salt but they were hot. The chicken rings, ugh. Don't waste your time on these. They tasted like they were fresh out of the freezer into the microwave into our bag. Void of any crispness and if it wasn't for the sauces we probably would only have eaten one each. Those sauces, we tried the neon yellow honey mustard. It was ok but way to sweet for our liking. We also had the zesty zinger. Not sure what I expected with this sauce but it tasted like cocktail sauce. On a fish sand it would be great. I actually loved this sauce and it was the star of our meal. $25 bucks for three and we had 5 sliders left, half a bag of both the chicken rings and fries. Leftovers for my kids lunch tomorrow. Overall it was a just ok experience and I'm glad I tried a actual White Castle but I would never go out of my way again to purchase. The hubs and I have been waiting patiently to try White Castle since they opened. The ridiculously long lines has kept us from trying in the past. We were already in the area and happened to drive past just to see if there happened to be a line and surprisingly this time there wasn't. We stared at the menu and decided we needed to try like one of everything besides the breakfast foods. We put in our order and someone ran out to collect our payment. Wait wasn't long and we got our sauces and hid in the parking lot to try our foods lol First off the 1921 was by far both of our favorite besides the original. The chicken rings and crispy chicken weren't very crispy and almost tasted old. We got a fish slider too but I didn't really care for that as it was super dry. The zesty zing sauce was so good and really added that zip to the sliders. I literally love this place. I understand it's fast food, a chain, and not like something unique per say but I just love it. I love the mini burgers with the jalapeño cheese, I love how you can buy a huge case of burgers. Very convenient for a family to take home & reheat some burgers later. Also, I feel the pricing is reasonable. We probably spend $40 but also have leftovers to eat later. The kids love how the burgers are mini. I like they serve crinkle fries. It's rare to find a fast food place that's does that. I also enjoy the chicken sandwiches. My family enjoys the milkshakes! I enjoy coming here for good mini burgers. read more

This location has even more food options (like The Chicken & Waffles, The 1921 Slider, The Breakfast Slider, et cetera) and the food is just as great but holy smokes is that wait not cute. My group specifically waited nearly four months after opening and the line was still ridiculous. It took 30-minutes to get through the line just to order and almost the same amount of time to get our food on a Saturday afternoon. It wasn't lunch or dinner time! The kiosks were out of order, one of the soda machines needed their syrups to be changed so there was a line to use the other one, and other problems were evident due to it being busy. And since it was so busy, every surface possible from the seats to the tables to the counters were sticky. Is the food all hype? Of course it is. At the end of the day it's just fast food. Anyway, the food is always good here, along with the quality of the drinks :D Oh and the service was phenomenal. The person who took my order and charged my card had a limp but his energy and the customer service was outstanding! It's also known across the board that this person needs to become a voice actor. Ohhh no. Decided to make the drive from the east valley to see what this hype was all about. Walked in around 12:30am on a Tuesday and it was surprisingly dead. The cashier was definitely done for the day by the look she gave us when we walked in. (They closed at 3am) We decided to order the order of the 10 burgers, chicken rings, and a fry. We also got two drinks. One fountain drink and a slushee. Our total was about $25. The dining area is cute and plenty of seating. The floors though and the cleanliness? Non existent. The floors were sticky and trash all over. The tables were even worse. Crumbs and random trash all over. The trash cans? Overflowing. There were about 15 employees working and all of them standing around hanging out. I cleaned up my own table and sat down. The food? Gross. I'm sorry but the burgers were a no for me. It felt like I was eating elementary school food. Yuck. The chicken rings were cold af and tasted like they had been sitting out all day. The crinkle cut fries were really good though!! Definitely a no for me and won't come back. I'd rather eat a burger off McDonald's dollar menu. Oh and we never got our slushee with our food. Finally a White castle comes to Arizona. I heard about the hype on the news and from friends about the hour long lines. When I arrived on a Tuesday afternoon with a couple months past since its opening it was still busy but not super busy. I was able to park in the lot and only waited 10 minutes in line inside to get the order counter! Imagine that! Now was the food all the hype?? Let's just say, the original sliders tastes like the frozen versions in my opinion. The 'fresh' ones get the edge though over the frozen because you can get a pickle in it and the buns are softer and taste better, and for $0.79 a slider, you can't complain. Don't get me wrong, the sliders are tasty bites, but there were other delectable items on the menu that I didn't know about before! Chicken and Waffle sandwich, Fish Fillet sandwich, Mozzarella Sticks, Cheesecake on a stick! Something for the whole family. haha. Everything seems to be mini sized; All the sandwiches are slider size. But the fish and the chicken and waffles I was pleasantly surprised! These were Harold and Kumar worthy! Bonus points: The tables had outlet plugs for charging your devices or laptop which is a plus. The packages for the sliders have on them challenges you can do with your eating partners, and they were fun! The food on this day hit the spot. The variety of items makes it a little more enticing to stop into White Castle and the fact that they are open 24 hours. Finally got a chance to come by without a 6 hour or 3 hour line! This time the line wasn't to bad about 10-16 people in front inside. The menu is different then other locations. They have new burger options they are testing out. Also they don't have a lot of combos to choose from like the east locations. They used to have a 20 piece or 6 and etc. They only have a 4 piece, 2 piece, 10 piece and 30 case. We tried their mozzarella sticks & onion chips( onion rings). The onion chips tasted to fried. The mozzarella sticks were good. We also got the crispy chicken sandwich. It was good. We got the 10 sliders, don't forget to add cheese, taste better! I wouldn't drive all the way here for White Castle unless I'm really craving it or in the area. They have a patio outside to sit. 2 lines for the drive thru. read more

This was our fourth time here, but our first time eating because the lines were always so long. Today we only waited in line for about 15 minutes and then another 15 for the food. Totally worth it! Inside is pretty modern and bright and open. I like that you can see into the kitchen where they are frantically cooking 12 trillion burgers per minute :-) The process from ordering to cooking to serving is pretty efficient and easy. The food was excellent! We had regular sliders, cheese sliders, fish sliders and chicken sliders along with french fries and onion chips. I'm a huge sauce guy and they have a great selection of dipping sauces. The zesty zingy sauce was my favorite. The bread is soft and warm and steamy, the grilled onions are delicious, beef is fresh and the cheese slices become creamy and soft. This really hit the spot! The lady I talked to in the drive thru had NO CLUE to what I was talking about. She quoted me 6 original sliders for just under $8. White Castle 3 times a charm, after going there 2 previous times, was able to drive right up to the order microphone and order 30 sliders in a Crave Case. The first two times I waited in the drive thru, first time was 1.5 hours and the second time was 2 hours so I ended up turning around and leave. So after leaving an ASU basketball game on a Thursday night, I drove by around 11:40 pm, pulled off the freeway and was able to drive right up and order and drove off by 11:55 pm. Little did I know that they close at midnight. I ended up ordering 10 Originals, 10 Originals with Cheese and 10 Originals with Bacon and Cheese with came in the Crave Case of 30. They are just as tasty as in Chicago or New Jersey where I had them before, only difference being the restaurant in Scottsdale is in a nice area where in Chicago and Jersey City you do not want to be in that area after the sun does down and fear for your life.
