This place was okay. We got an intense vibe as we walked in, because the hostess was being rude to the guy in front of us. The food was pretty good, but the drink selection was limited. Fantastic place for happy hour specials. I am sure it is equally good the rest of the day but that was when we were there. After walking around looking at different places to eat we settled on this one and were glad we did. Our drinks were good and the food was great. Portions were larger than we expected. Our server (wish we could remember her name but she was from Ukraine) was fabulous. We enjoyed our conversation with her about her homeland and about Key West. We stop here every time we pass, which is more frequent than you would I think. Only have drinks at the bar but the servers are always friendly, sometimes rushed but that just means the place is busy and Key West needs that. The two stars are for the drinks. They were great. Our waitress was constantly MIA or maybe we would have ordered more of them. The blackened grouper sandwich was good. Chose this place based on their promotion of cooking your fresh catch and their appealing drink and appetizer menu. To cook your fresh catch it's 19.99 per person and you get a choice of two sides. Upon arrival they were very accommodating for our large group, however, things began to fall apart. The bar area was loud with trashy drunks fresh off of happy hour. I felt like I was back at the old sports bar I used to work at in my 20's with a bunch of loud mouth immature 20 somethings, except these guys were 50's-60's acting like they had a shot with the very 20 something bartender, it was a spectacle worth watching, but, I digress. The order went off without a hitch, although we were worried about the fish not getting on ice quick enough. Room for improvement there for sure. Once the food came, the fish was prepared well and was very tasty, but, they did not give us any plates.. We had to ask for plates 4 or 5 times while things were getting cold. Some folks started using their mini appetizer plates. Came in right at the end of breakfast, but was given the option for either breakfast or lunch. I opted for a burger and was not disappointed. It was very good, cooked perfectly. Each sandwich comes with a plain bag of potato chips. We also ordered fries which were very good as well. They do not have refills on sodas as they are brought out in bottles. I was stopping in here nearly every day for the quesadilla. The sign outside said one price, but when I went to order today they said actually they doubled the price. Our large groups of friends would come here and eat and also order many other items and drinks plus tips. I have told many about the place and brag about this spot. The price doubling I don't think I'll be stopping in for food anymore. Bad practice to post up price outside and not honor it. We'll find a new spot to meet up. Shame. read more

Hate to give white tarpon 2 stars. For the last 15 years a big group of us have come down to enjoy key west. White tarpon is always our first spot and staple for the week. This year was very different. We sat at the bar and Mauricio, the bartender, was extremely rude, very un-friendly and ignored half of the group as they tried to order drinks. So we finished our first drinks and left. We gave it another try Wednesday and unfortunately he was still there, still being a complete ass as he was the previous Saturday acting like because we were "tourists" and our experience didn't matter. I'm sure everyone in week 32 will know what asshole I speak of. Hopefully next year he will be gone. read more

Food was decent but way over priced for bar food. Service was horrible taking almost two hours to have dinner. Server did not refil drinks and said he was unable to figure out how to split checks so he just randomly charged our cards we had given him. Will not be back don't waste your time. read more

No frills place to eat some good food at a very reasonable price. My mom and I ate here for dinner one night during happy hour, each getting the peel and eat shrimp and a tomato/mozzarella salad for less than $25 with tip. Skip the salad though. The next morning, we came back for breakfast and both ate for less than $12. I would definitely return. read more

Jay makes this place a pub worth hanging out in. The Key Lime martini's are every bit the wonder that the other reviewers describe. The Chocolate Espresso martini is wonderful also. The bar (owned by same folks who own Alonzo's, and A&B Lobster House in same location) is combined with a very nice wine cellar, beer coolers and a deli. The food served in the bar is fantastic. I recommend the pulled chicken sandwich, the buffalo mozzarella panini or the grilled vegetable salad. If you're not hanging out, you can get your beverage in a plastic cup to go. And if you're heading out on a fishing charter this is the place to stop to pick up beverages and a meal to carry out. read more

This is a hidden gem, like some other users have posted. The deli provides good sandwiches after a long day in the sun. They sell a variety of soda, beer, and liquor at a reasonable price, especially right on the water. As far as the adjoining bar, the staff is very friendly and makes some great drinks. I'm not a huge mixed drink fan, but the key lime martini is pretty dang good. I'm not sure if the live music on the patio is employed by this business or not but the three days we listened, each of the performers was quite good. Looking forward to stopping here again on future KW trips. read more

You look at that sign and think "Dollar oysters, there's gotta be something wrong there". Nope, great oysters and a Key Lime martini that had us back twice. Also, the singer songwriter was awesome, had us singing the rest of the night. The only shortfall is the atmosphere, this place is set back a bit and doesn't get the exposure that the neighboring Alonzos or Conch Republic get. But who cares, dollar oysters! Came in for breakfast at 11am and was pleasantly surprised. It was pricey $9.50 for two eggs, ham, bacon or sausage, toast and breakfast potatoes, but very good. The eggs were cooked to my liking, over medium, got a bunch of deli sliced ham and the potatoes had very good flavor. My husband enjoyed his breakfast as well. If ever in Key West and want a decent breakfast, I highly recommend coming here. read more
