What a darling place! I stopped by Wilder's to get brunch with a friend, and i am so glad we did. The staff was super friendly and they offer a ton of great lunch sandwiches, omelettes and baked goods. They had both outdoor and indoor seating, and lots of parking. I decided to try the skinny omelette and it tasted so fresh with all the veggies inside. It came with a side of breakfast potatoes and a biscuit, which melted in my mouth. Very happy about the decision to stop at Wilder's Cafe. Ordered a sampler of the menu and was pleased with each selection. The biscuits and gravy looked under whelming but they must use a little chipped beef since it not just your usual sausage flavor. The sandwiches were reminiscent of what I would make at home. The Pacer is definitely something to order, makes you feel like a kid. They had a reuben as a special. It was balanced with meat, sauerkraut, and dressing, could have used another piece of Swiss, but would order again. However, the french fries outshined the sandwich. Crisp out side without being over cooked, salted to perfection. The beignets reminded me of Cafe du Monde, add some chicory coffee and humidity you might see Jackson Square. Heard so many good things about this place but was disappointed. I had bacon and eggs. The bacon was an odd smoked flavor and was not very well cooked. It was also very tough. The eggs were just marginal. The bread and the butter was from an institutional food service truck. The servers were OK but not super friendly. The restaurant was letting a local association have a meeting inside the restaurant and they were basically hogging all of the chairs. The speaker was very loud and was talking over all of the other diners. My suggestion is if an association or group wants to take over the entire restaurant, then close it to the public. The association leader was not letting other patrons sit in certain seats and It created a very tense environment for those patrons who were not part of her group. This could be a great place, but they have quite a bit of work to do to get there. read more

I have heard a lot of great things about this place, and when I finally decided to stop in, I did not regret it. I don't write Yelp! Reviews very often (in fact, this is my very first one!) but after eating here for the first time, I had to download this app so that I could give my praise. The chef did a great job with my wife's veggie omelet. I only got a club sandwich, but boy was it good! The young fellow that was helping me was named Aidan, and he was kind, had nice manners, and he was quick on his feet to crack a few jokes with me. Good food folks. Small family owned place, done up well. Homemade, made to order food. I got an omelette, which was delicious. Chunk style fried potatoes were great. Bluegrass French toast.... They had a wonderful menu with a lot of different things that I've never heard of before I did order the ultimate grilled cheese and my husband ordered a egg and sausage Panini with tomato jam. Needless to say being from Wisconsin I've never heard of tomato jam I liked it my husband not so much. The ultimate grilled cheese was three different kind of cheeses with bacon and done crispy and wonderful on the sourdough bread. Their coffee was self-serve which was nice, there isn't a lot of seating room and there were a lot of people who seem to come in for takeout orders it was very busy, we did have to wait a while for our food but we were not in a rush so as long as we had coffee and we were happy. Loved the idea of supporting a local place. The food was ok, but it took us 40 minutes to get our order (ordered straight off the menu & there were only 2 of us). Went at breakfast and they were out of coffee, finally brewed some and then when we went for a second cup, they were out again. They are severely understaffed and the staff they have is not well trained. One of the servers seemed to only be able to roll silverware and run food. Watched her run her fingers through her hair multiple times and continue rolling silverware (without washing her hands). Maybe just an off-day? read more

First 2 or 3 times there was fine , food and service good. Today was terrible. First my wife asked for the Belgian waffle with fruit and was told no fruit with that. So she ordered blueberry pancakes. Why couldn't they put blueberries on the waffle? I ordered the biscuits and gravy with a side of sausage ( over priced at more than $10). two biscuits and 2 patties. when the order came I took one bite of the biscuit and gravy and it was so salty I couldn't eat it. While waiting for a waiter to come by so I could return it I ate the sausage which wasn't very good(tasteless) but I didn't complain about that. When the waiter finally came by I told him I couldn't eat it . He said ok and just picked up the plate and walked away. I was finally able to flag him down and asked what I could get instead and asked for scrambled eggs and bacon. In a few minutes the owner came and asked what's the problem. Again I said I'm sorry but its do salty I can't eat it . She said did you salt it? I said no there's not even salt on the table. So the she said what do you want. I repeated what I had already told the waiter. she never apologized, just walked away. In a few minuits the waiter brought one egg and one strip of bacon. The junior breakfast is 2 eggs, potatoes, toast,and choice of bacon or sausage for$6.79( less than the$7 for 2 biscuits and gravy. You have to pay when you order and I went ahead and tipped more than 15%. with no apologies and poor attitude on the part of both waiter and owner, I will never return. (Also my wife's pancakes were cold and doughy, like they had been sitting for a while. read more

Wilder's Cafe is just what Crestwood needs. I love frequenting small cafes for breakfast and this cafe did not disappoint. The omelet was the perfect size with fresh veggies and plenty of cheese, the potatoes were fresh and seasoned wonderfully, the homemade biscuit was made to perfection. This was our first time at Wilders Cafe! If your in Crestwood or the surrounding areas you have to give this place a try. We went for breakfast, and the food was amazing!! We had the veggie omelet (delicious) and the breakfast sandwich on a bagel. The food was fresh and was prepared quickly. We can't wait to go back and see what they have for lunch!! I really wanted to love the food. Worst pancake I've ever eaten. Actually had them take it away barely touched. I said this is the driest pancake I've ever had. (The syrup didn't even help it.
