I went in initially for a fill but she told me my nails were messed up (different nail salon) and she was able to give me a full set at a great price. My mom and I had a great experience here. So I've been going to Winchester Nails for over 6 years on and off because I am bicoastal and things have definitely changed. When I started going here the furniture had holes and was mismated, the floors were dirty and tiles were not matching , there was holes in the ceilings and there were occasional roaches. I went here despite all of that because at the the time Tu was nice and she did a good job and so did her pedicurist named LaLa. She only had one or two employees and the wait would be a long time even with an appointment but she was nice and the work was good. But honey, fast forward to now, coming back here after a couple of years, things have changed cosmetically, but Tu is now very "big time" and unprofessional. She's hired a lot of unskilled people that don't speak English which is fine, but don't start filing my nail's without asking me how I want them. The time before this time when I walked out, I had to have someone else finish my pedicure . The other day I called her at 2:30 pm and asked her if she was busy, she told me no, I told her I would come at 3:30, but due to unforeseen circumstances I arrived at 3:40. I told her I was sorry, the light alone is 5 minutes to make the u turn into the nail shop. She yells at me that she could of took other customers and turned them away, like really? Cause I waited there until 3:50 pm and there was no one coming in. This is not an upscale nail shop, you don't even need to make an appointment and she acts like she was going to do my nails, she only does fake nails because she's too good to do a manicure now . Like honey, calm down, your not that busy boo. While I was waiting there she was talking so much about me!!!! Like your shop is tiny, and your sitting literally right across from me! Like how dare you! I've waited plenty of times for you, because you had no employees , and I always tip $20 minimum, I was going to you before you had your shop redone, when there was roaches and high crime( someone broke into the shop and stole her atm machine!!!! Are used to go to the nail shop located in Hamilton in Bascom every time I go in there and get a fill refill within a day or two the nail sweep break so I searched around and I found Winchester Nails which is right up the street from my house. I went in there and that was approximately two months ago. I haven't broken a nail yet . Tu and Kimberley are awesome along with the rest of her staff. She kept asking me if I liked the set and told me to let her know if there was anything I wanted to fix, which I really appreciate. She also mentioned a few times that if I had any nail break or chip to come back and she would fix it for free! Super considerate n genuine :) I ended up paying around $40-$45 with tip so I would consider this place a two $$ rather than one $. But I felt really taken care of and a lot of attention to detail was put into this set. I've found my new go to nail salon! I like that Tu can do anything you ask her to. I came in with SNS on my nails and she took it off no problem. I don't like soaking in acetone so she took it off with clippers and another tool. She takes care of the nail bed before application. Tu uses New/sanitized tools which is really important to me. She is also reasonably priced. Tu has all the newest styles like chrome, designs, etc. This spot might be hard to find if you don't keep an out. It's next to velero gas station and the parking lot is in the back. Another plus is that she takes card to pay. There is a hair lady in the same area but Tu operates her nail business separately. Make sure to call and make an appointment before you come or just call to make sure Tu can take a walk in. I go during the week in the morning which is nice because she can always take me in. read more

I loved that the staff at Winchester Nails was able to fit my mother and myself in quickly on a Thursday morning but that was all that went well. They were out of many of their colors and were unable to find close matches, not a huge deal but there were quite a few missing. At the end of our Spa Pedicures they rushed us out the door as fast as they could, not even allowing our paint to dry or offering us another seat. If they had been busy it would have made sense but there were literally no other customers there. On another note, when we scheduled they didn't tell us their services were cash only and I didn't see a sign in the store but they did get defensive when we questioned asking if we could pay with card. I just moved here in Cali from chicago a few weeks ago and needed a pedicure bad! my no-chip mani was also growing out and found this place through yelp! It was easy to find and there is ample parking at the back. I got here at 930am hoping to do an early walk-in and they were still close. I called the number and she was running into traffic so I waited for about 15 mins which I didnt mind as IT WAS WORTH IT! I got the no-chip mani and pedi and both Tu who worked on my hands and Kim on my feet where absolutely great! They do take their time in making sure that my nails were on point! Tu even added a 'cat eye effect' on my nails which I'm inlove!!!! and Kim took her time and really took care of my toes with hot stone massage!!!! First: the good thing about this place is they're open til 7:30. I had a last minute desire to get a pedi and looking around thru Yelp this is only place I could go since it was getting late. Called them and they said they could take me in. I came in and they serviced me 5 mins later. It was kinda hard to find this place. Tucked in the corner but they have a good parking area at the back. She didn't want to do dip nails for me. She was suggesting acrylic. I don't like acrylic. She said she would do gel, and she started with the acrylic. I told her again I didn't want this. Ugh listen to me. She finally did dip. It took so long. She gave me a free pedicure, which I will never use because I'll never go back. Tu did a gulp fabulous job on my acrylic set! My real nails are INCREDIBLY thin and damaged. I told her I was tired of getting just fills for thr past few months and I wanted a new set. It was a rough start since my real nails came off somewhat with thr removal of my old acrylics, but to me it was worth it. She took her time, which was very much appreciated. She has SO many colors to choose from, it was somewhat overwhelming, but fantastic nevertheless. This may be hard for some girls who can't decide on anything lol. At the end, I was very pleased. I almost forgot to mention some of the best parts! 1) Her nail drying/setting machine is WONDERFUL! Has a lot of space and keeps going for as long as your hand is in there. No need to almost ruin your nail polish in a small slot and have to pull your hand out and back in. I absolutely LOVE Tu! She did a great job with my nails and pays great attention to detail. I came in for a gel manicure. She noticed my nail beds were uneven after applying the base coat and she completely took everything off just to apply it again so that everything looked even. She shaped my nails beautifully. The entire process she kept checking with me to make sure I liked the color and shape. She expressed how much she doesn't mind fixing my nails until they're perfect for me because she takes pride in her work and it makes her happy when her clients are happy with their nails. On top of that, I cracked my gel polish the day after so I came in to have her fix it. I was literally in and out just like that. I had pictures to show her for shape and design and she understood the vibe I was going for and suggested the amazing design I have now. My nails turned out absolutely gorgeous, I've gotten so many compliments and I feel like a new woman I regrettably broke a nail hours after leaving the salon (totally my fault, the nail didn't stand a chance) and Cô Tú fit me in the next day and fixed my nail for free and in fact refused to accept any money for it. Her price is so reasonable she said a standard acrylic set is $40 and I think the base price for mine was $55 which I think is a steal considering the time and care she put into it and the fact that they look freakin amazing. Did acrylic powder nail extensions full set and very disappointed with the service, my nails broke 4 times in 5 days and I had to go back couple times to fix it, and they keep breaking because they use cheap pounder that doesn't last, and when I went back and they said my nails are short but I've been doing acrylic nails 3 years now and non of them broke that fast. This was the last time I will ever visit this place, I don't have the time to keep going back for them to fix it.
