I've gotten my nails done here about 3 times and each time my experience was a little different but overall good. The ladies are very sweet and friendly. I didn't catch the names of every nail tech I've gotten but I know Jade and Tu were both very skilled in their work. It's a no-frills salon but they do offer a lot of the trendy things like cat eye, jelly nails, gel-x, etc. On one occasion, I showed the owner Tu a photo of a design I wanted and made sure to ask beforehand if they were able to do it (if not then I'd choose a different design). She assured me that the nail tech doing my nails would be able to do it. Although it did turn out nice, I could tell that the nail tech was struggling a bit to figure out how to do it and it ended up taking over 2.5 hours. She was very sweet and apologetic about how long it took though. One downside is that I do notice whenever I go here the retention isn't as great and some of my nails end up lifting after a couple of weeks. Granted I do wait pretty long in between manicures (4-5 weeks) but I've definitely had it last that long with no issues from other salons. They also charge for gel removal and cuticle work, which I didn't realize until I asked for a price breakdown one time. I would have assumed that would be part of a whole manicure service, but every salon is different in their pricing so it's understandable. After seeing my previous review online, the manager contacted me and asked if I'd be willing to come in and let her fix my nails. I accepted and am really pleased with the final result, this is exactly what I wanted. Thank you Tu! You can tell the manager really cares about her customers and providing results her customers are happy with. I was here for the first time about 2 days ago and didn't have the best experience at first. I am now learning that it was an issue with that nail tech and doesn't reflect the overall business. I wanted burgundy french tips and chose from the swatches and when she applied it, it looked red. I told her on multiple occasions that it wasn't my desired color but she didn't care and was very visibly annoyed with me. Fast forward to today, I am really happy with the final result, though I will say this could have been avoided. But I have great respect for a business who cared enough to reach out and try to make up for the initial experience. Thank you! read more

A friend highly recommended this place so I scheduled appointment with Tu at 10 am. When I came to the shop they helped me right away but did not ask my name or if I made an appt. She ended up calling me as I was sitting in the chair. I had a refill for acrylic and the lavender spa pedicure. Vivian did a great job with design however my thumb nail wasn't completely covered by the top coat and end up with gaps as seen in the video. Michelle did a great job with the spa pedicure. I was looking for a place in Santa Clara that I could get my nails done and Winchester nails came up on my yelp search! They had 4.5 stars and so I decided to check it out. It's a store front next to the original Krung Thai, so if there wasn't any parking at the front, you would have to park in the back. Not going to lie, first impression of parking in the back made me nervous. There was a homeless guy hanging out in the parking lot in the back so I was reluctant on coming in, but I'm glad I did! When I walked in, the shop is small, and I was the only customer. It was nice and quiet around 5:00pm on a Monday. The woman who worked on my nails was really nice and she helped me choose a color that I ended up loving so much! She was very polite and professional! It ended up costing $50 for dip powder and gel on top. It's about the same price everywhere I've gone so far, but she did an awesome job. I wish there was more parking in the front, but I liked how my nails came out. I'll definitely be back. read more

The service was okay i asked for a gel pedicure by the time i got home my gel had chipped off on 4 nails started looking closer she didn't shape them well all the corners are pointy and flimsy. She was very meticulous during the pedicure and when I asked her to speed it up since I had a time crunch, she managed to finish within the 30min I gave her. I told them I wanted a manicure and the nail tech was thorough and I was satisfied with the service. My only issue was the price. Prior to doing my nails, I saw the pamphlet in front and manicure was listed as $20. Gel manicure at $30. When I went to pay the owner said $38 so I asked her for a price breakdown and she said taking off my old polish was $3. But that still means they over charged me by $5. I called earlier on the same day (Tues) I needed a mani/pedi. I asked if there was any availability after 6pm. I was told to arrive at 6:15pm for an appointment. I was in need of getting my nails done since I will be attending a wedding later in the week and was grateful for this location to be open so late during a work week. I missed the name of the lady who attended me, but she took care of me and even fixed some nail issues I've been having for a while. I don't normally get my nails done; tomboy to the max and I don't necessarily express a lot in regards to the stereotype femininity, but I felt very welcomed and I was beyond satisfied with my service. For any future nail needs, I'll be making my appointments done here. I tipped extra only because there was a previous customer(s) who were being very rude to the staff and it seemed like the appropriate thing to do. I would recommend coming here. After seeing all of the beautiful pictures of nails that people have posted on here I decided to give this place a try. I got SNS/dip and one of the girls put it on really thick. Tu did my marble design which I love, but I wish the dip wasn't as thick. It makes my nails look kinda chunky. Everyone here is super nice and the salon itself is nice on the inside. There is a parking lot behind the salon where you can park if there isn't anything available on the street in front. My friend took me here since she had amazing service and I hate to write one star reviews but don't come here for a pedicure :( Yeah it's only $22 but depending on who you get (I ended up getting someone who wasn't very good) she did not treat me gently and did my nails in a rush. She knicked my toe and it was hurting for a few hours after I got it done. She also did my friends toes and made her put on her shoe, and she ended up getting paint on her new Birkenstock's! The quality of mani pedis Winchester Nails has is impeccable and their service is fast. My gel mani and regular pedicure lasted 3ish weeks, and the only reason I came back to get my nails done was b/c they were growing out. I like that they take appointments, and it isn't too busy if you come before 5pm. There's also a lot in the back to park in. This isn't the place to come to if you want glitz and glam, but for a good price and good quality, this is the nail shop for you! My one star dock is for their constant up sell with the pedicures and the credit/debit card machine mysteriously being broken that last two times I came in. Every time I asked for a basic pedicure they kept pushing me to get the deluxe. Then after that, they'll try to upsell you on gel instead of regular nail polish and so forth. As for the card machine, I had two visits that were 3 and half weeks apart and both times there was no sign up that said their card machine was broken. They insisted I pay in cash or via VenMo. This is something that should probably be advertised if a client is cashless or wanting to use Apple Pay. read more
