This was the loveliest Ice Cream and Coffee Shop a sweaty, belligerent luddite could ask for! The staff was incredibly gracious and sweet, despite the fact that I huddled in the corner for at least two hours. I really appreciated their patience, and watched as they treated all customers with the same indiscriminate kindness they showed to me. I only had a coffee, but it was delicious and their ice cream is known for mile around. The business appeared hands on and all employees appeared invested. Also, super comfy chairs! Not only the best ice cream I have ever tasted but the service is outstanding! 5 dollar Friday is the best and I LOVE the Huckleberry Ice cream they have called Vickieberry - Huckleberry ice cream with a huckleberry swirl. Also the Taneum Meadows Blueberry Cheesecake. I am sure there is many more that I have not tried but nice job on the amazing flavors and on the customer service. This place is a great local ice cream shop. They have many great options for ice cream, coffee, and more. Their flavors are all very well put together and it is a very creamy ice cream that is delicious. This was my first time and while patience was needed, it wasn't anything out of the ordinary. It was worth the wait and this will not be the last trip. Delicious ice cream and many specials throughout the week. Great atmosphere inside the establishment and a warm/calming vibe. As a side note, they have a drink called the "extreme bull" which is a 32 oz drink comprised of an energy drink (monster) and then your voice of flavored syrups. It did not sound that great but the girl behind the counter said they seem to be addictive and very popular. Visit this location for a great treat. read more

Had salted caramel scoop in the store and it seemed good. I went back the next day to purchase a 1/2 gallon for $8.99 as their menu indicated. They told me they only sell Vanilla for $8.99 1/2 gallon. So we ended up spending $6.49/quart so $13 for 1/2 gallon of salted caramel. Got it home to find out it was vanilla ice cream with two small swirls of actual caramel. If I wanted vanilla I would have ordered a 1/2 gallon for $8.99. Please make it clear on your menu that 1/2 gallon costs $13 if you want anything other than vanilla. Also please put caramel in the salted caramel that way you are not deceiving customers when calling it salted caramel. I would pay $13 for a 1/2 gallon if it was the flavor it is supposed to be. read more

I had never set foot into a Winegars before and I moved here in 2001. I was very impressed with the staff. The young lady that took my order was a delight and told me she had only been there for like 4 days. It seemed like she had worked there longer. If the staff is warm and friendly I know that what I am going to get is going to be good. Staff is 50 to 75 % on how I grade. If you have a horrible staff you place rates very low in my books. She explained the Reward program they had and signed me up and this is before I placed my order. It was a great time at this shop. I ordered 2 malts,1 Chocolate and the other one Strawberry. They were out of Strawberry what a horrible thought no Strawberry. I tried the Raspberry Nut and if you like Raspberry you have to have this one so good and yummy. I enjoyed my visit and I will be coming back. I am a diabetic and Ice Cream is a no no but you have to have fun once in a while. read more

This place has GREAT ice cream and the coffee is good too. But the ice cream. After moving away from Ellensburg after college, Winegars is one of the main things I miss about the town. The Korimint! And freaking JAGGY OATS!!!!!! You cannot beat Jaggy Oats. Not sure how the last poster could have been so grumpy about Winegars, maybe they were lactose intolerant. read more

I've been to both Winegars in Ellensburg probably at least 50 times each, and though I've been to lots of ice cream places across the US Winegars still has some of my absolute FAVORITE ice cream! They have a hug selection of ice cream, drinks, and a decent selection of food to. The people working are almost always friendly, and every time I come here I have an incredibly difficult time choosing what to get because it's all so delicious! Don't forget to come on Thursday for "Therapy Thursday" where you get a free pastry of your choice with whatever else you buy, or "Dollar Scoop Night" starting at 7pm every Tuesday night where every scoop of ice cream is only a dollar! However, I can't give it 5 stars for a few minor reasons... Firstly, it's kinda spendy as far as ice cream and drinks go. Scond it can get VERY busy, ESPECIALLY on dollar scoop night! On dollar scoop night at about 8 there's always a line of people that goes all the way from the counter outside, although I know this can't be helped. Third, the place is always filled with an army of flies. The flies bug the sh*t out of me! Fourth, although this is also probably just because of my body and not something that's the fault of Winegars, almost everything there makes my guts hurt at least a little and often leads me to the bathroom... Over all, definitely worth a visit every now and then, but try to come when it's not insanely busy, don't stay in the place once you get what you ordered, and don't go to far from the bathroom for a couple hours after... read more
