    Caesar Salad
    Lindsey L.

Ordered the special of the night, which was a lemon shrimp, chicken and pasta dish. Unfortunately, I didn't get a photo of this but it was very disappointing. Pasta was EXTREMELY overcooked to a point where it was mushy, and the sauce was sickeningly sweet, not lemony or savory at all, tasted like it had straight sugar in it. I also ordered the Caesar salad with blackened chicken, which was nothing to write home about. The service was also absolutely awful - the woman serving us was slow, there were multiple occasions in which my water was empty for 5-10 minutes at a time. She also left all of our dirty dishes on a tray within 3 feet of the table we were eating at through dessert and when the check was being prepared. The smell of all the food and the mess next to the table while we are dessert was off putting for sure. Overall, considering this is regarded as a "Raleigh Classic" it was extremely disappointing, and unfortunately this is the third or fourth time I have had this negative experience at this restaurant. I do not recommend here, as there are significantly better places in Raleigh to get a good meal.

Winston's Grille is still the place to go if you want amazing food and excellent service. The locally owned restaurant has been in business for almost 40 years, so they must be doing something right. The restaurant is located in Sutton Square in North Raleigh and has a good-sized parking lot. If you can't find a spot, there are plenty in the shopping center. There are even dedicated parking spots for to-go orders. On my most recent visit, we were seated in the private room with the round table. It is my favorite spot in the restaurant but there are no bad rooms or tables here as the restaurant was designed to keep each dining area small with it broken up into rooms and areas. The menu is large and has a variety of items depending on what you are looking for you can get salads; sandwiches: steaks; burgers; chicken; ribs; pastas. They even have some gluten-free items. I typically go with the chicken salad with fruit or the filet mignon as they do these dishes better than anywhere else. The Sunday brunch was a favorite but the restaurant is now closed on Sundays. I am still hopeful they will open that again as I miss the blueberry muffins.

We made a Open Table reservation for 4 pm on a Friday to give us enough time to eat and enjoy before going to a 6:30 event at The Historic Wakefield Barn. Very well received by the hostess. We were seated in a raised table section. Very nice atmosphere. Our waitress was very friendly, polite and attentive. I had the pork chop. It might be the best one I've ever had. The BBQ glaze was outstanding. It came with mashed potatoes and green beans, very nice compliments. Also had a side house salad with raspberry vinaigrette dressing--delicious! My daughter had the Filet Mignon with mashed potatoes and broccoli. She had nothing but praise. Great restaurant!

3 meatball pasta - absolutely delicious.

Truly the place to go for the best food (always delicious and never skimpy portions). The service is top tier and second to none. Always welcoming and warm. A wonder place to go to relax at the bar, have a company event or a special night out. Top ten and two thumbs all the way.

Fantastic food here...always! Whether lunch or dinner, you're guaranteed to find quality fare that is reasonably priced. Generous portions to boot! The waitstaff is eager to accommodate you; everyone is attentive, courteous and seemingly happy to care for you. Finally, the restaurant is always clean which scores major points with me. Give them a try whenever you're in the area - try the gumbo, collard greens, rotisserie chicken, London broil and their take on banana's foster - you'll thank yourself if not me.

Winston is always a pleaser when you need a great restaurant to eat at . This appetizer- "tomato bruschetta with goat cheese" was extremely good. Very flavorful.

I arrived for our dinner reservations & had to wait for some time to be seated. We were seated in a semi-private area at a table near the bar. Once we were seated we were given water by our server/bartender. We were later asked if we wanted rolls. The rolls were good and served warm. I got a blue lagoon cocktail. The presentation was great and it tasted good. For my meal I ordered the maple bbq glazed pork chop topped with candied bacon, and mashed potatoes with mixed vegetables as my sides. The food was really good but the candied bacon was a little overcooked. The portion sizes was large. I was given a mini brownie with ice cream and a candle for my birthday. It wasn't bad. I just wish the brownie was warm and not given to me straight from the refrigerator. Overall we had a great time at Winston's and def will be back in the future!

Tokens are reasonably priced and older style arcade games only take 1- the more interactive or multi player games (think air hockey, basketball, dance dance etc) take 4. They have free popcorn, daily drink specials, and drinks were very reasonably priced. Despite being fairly busy, service at the bar was friendly and fast- I was impressed! Not much else for food here from what I can tell, so don't plan on having your meal here. I brought two teenage boys and we hung out for almost 2 hours- I think I spent about 40 bucks including tokens and a couple of drinks for myself. I really liked the street art vibe, especially all of the murals and the Instagram wall. They've done a great job with ambiance! The outdoor patio adds a lot of additional chill space. When we were there they didn't have a band playing, but I think they do often. I almost want to give it 5 stars, but several of the games were not working properly and ate our tokens. That say you can grab someone to fix them, but nobody appeared available, and I wouldn't have wanted to bother them multiple times anyhow... Would be great if they were proactively checking and fixing them. More snacks would be great too! Other than that it was a really great experience, I would definitely go back.

I dropped by one afternoon to check out this new pub in North Raleigh and I was delighted to find…read morehow cozy it was and how hospitable and sweet the owners, Kevin and Stephanie, are. The decor in The Winchester Pub is unique in the fact that they don't have all the stereotypical, tacky beer signage that others have and the bar is completely handmade by Kevin himself (it's gorgeous). Their selection of beers on tap is primo -- you won't see any of the over-served blah beers of other bars. Instead, you'll find a finely curated selection that boasts a variety of tastes. If you're not into beer, there are also a few bottles of wine you can choose to have a glass of. There's a small selection of canned brews you can purchase from the display case in the front of the pub, back of the pub, and in the refrigerated unit in the rear, as well as cider, spiked coffee malt beverages, alcoholic seltzers, and beer kegs. Surprisingly, there's even some bagged coffee! If you fancy bringing some pub merch home, there are branded mugs for sale. Above the bar, there are mounted TV screens, perfect for enjoying local sports games (especially European soccer matches on the weekends). Plenty of backed barstools surround the bar, and there's a line of round, leather-topped stools along the back wall. If stools aren't your cup of tea, there are two cozy leather couches you can lounge on: one in the front (by the entrance) and one in the back (next to a pool table)! If you're not craving any booze, there's a water cooler in the front of the pub and canned sodas in the fridge (Sprite and Coke). If you're feeling playful, there are couple of board games on the one of the beer display shelves by the entrance (beneath the framed red jersey). I'm more of a cider kind of girl, so Kevin suggested a fantastic, locally-owned cider out of Pittsboro, NC: "Chatham Cider Works Highway 64". It was sweet, light, bubbly, and strong, especially at 10% ABV (so, watch out!). My husband and I both sampled the "Fullsteam Igor Cake" Pastry Stout (9% ABV), which was super sweet. Hubby ended up ordering the "Casita Home Sweet Home" Imperial Stout (10% ABV), which had a cake-like flavor, was super smooth, and not too sweet. No foods are currently served here, but there are some snacks for sale behind the bar and you are more than welcome to bring in your own noms to accompany any drinks your order. From the cooler, I bought and tried: - Brown Bomber Mocha Hard Latte - flavored malt beverage (5% ABV) made with 100% Arabica coffee and milk. It's recommended to shake well and serve over ice. It was soooo creamy, chocolatey, and delicious -- you can't even tell that there is alcohol in it! - Brown Bomber Vanilla Hard Latte - same as the previous, but vanilla-flavored - Sound Craft Rosé Seltzer (5% ABV) - super smooth and tasting of freshly pressed blackberries, I could not tell that there was alcohol in it! If you're looking for a cozy spot to throw back a pint as you unwind from work, you've found the perfect place!

Think food truck without the wheels! Love that they offer 2 on tap ciders (guest taps) and 2 NA options. Things to improve- All breweries do trivia, bingo & karaoke. What's something that is identifying to CRB? Just seems a bit stale to be polite. Loved their live music and guest monthly schedule. Several of the beer (specifically the coffee porter & honey wheat) were high IBU in turn being very bitter. We wanted to love the wheat and the coffee porter but both left us longing for better. So if we are a brewery... be great at that. Why are we a full service liquor bar too? A few options to appease everyone but we were surprised at the bourbon choices. Not only does it look cluttered, it clearly was selected by someone who has a preference for liquor/bourbon vs. a brew master. Maybe do a rotating cocktail list or 4-6 out of this world drinks and cut the rest. Drink prices at this price should not have pre done sour mix in them. Quality liquor should mean quality ingredients too. Big thumbs down on that. We did love the mimosa cocktail idea and the beer-rita with the use of CBR beer. Sames from 6 years ago- Chairs still suck. Parking is a little bit of an adventure but not sure there is a solution but rather just something to plan ahead for. No niche beer... still. We had their newish beers in each category. Overall... Scottish is still a solid choice. Lack of identity/theme/flagship beer (although we were told their IPA was?) We wanted to sit outside but it was pretty busy with families so we opted for indoor seating. The inside is pretty open and spacious with plenty of seating. I ordered a flight which was a great way to sample some of the selection. Overall, the beers were good, but not memorable. There was karaoke when we went. It was quite loud and we ended up having to shout at each other to hear one another. Again, this was mid-day, so it was odd to have karaoke going. There were quite a few kids running around, too. One of my biggest complaints about bars in this area is that too many allow kids. My husband and I are DINKS and would love to find a place that's adults-only but it's kind of hard to come by these days. I also personally think it's safer to just leave the kids at home if you're under the influence but that's just my two cents. If you are the type to bring the whole family to the bar for day drinking, you'll enjoy Compass Rose. I think I'll try them again but I'm still on the search for an authentic no-kids allowed bar. Maybe next time, I'll sit in the actual brewery section and see how that goes.
