The taiyaki is phenomenal. The outside is surprisingly light and crispy, and the filling spans throughout the entire fish (unlike other places, which only fill the belly). I definitely recommend eating it right when it comes out so that it maintains its perfect texture. We ordered the cream cheese and custard - and we'll definitely be back for more! I've been here a few times by now. All really kind and hard-working staff. Today around noontime, there were only 2 employees who had to work with so many people in line and some angry customers. Some customers literally shouted/raised their voices multiple times and the employee in the front calmly acknowledged their frustration, apologized, and explained. Wanted to try this place because we saw it on SGV Eats. The parking isn't that spacious since it's the a small plaza. Luckily, we were able to find a spot. They were quick to get our order and nice as well. We got the matcha and pure milk. The matcha ice cream was pretty good and creamy. It seemed to have specks of matcha within the ice cream. What stood out to me was the chewy mochi like texture it had on the inside, but biting through the outer layer was a soft, light crisp. Recommend! So happy this new dessert place opened up right here in San Gabriel. I think Taiyaki might be one of my favorite snacks/desserts that I for some reason forget about. I think that is because you can't really find them everywhere, which just makes this place all the more appreciated. I tried several of both the sweet & savory Taiyaki and I honestly cannot choose which was my favorite. But I will say the sausage & cheese as well as the custard really are two I can see myself ordering again and again. They were all freshly made so the great crisp and chewy textures are all there. There was also another with sausage and rice cake that I believe the owner said was inspired by her mom. You can hear the passion she has for her business. She was really a pleasure to chat with, and that's why I forgot to get some good pics of all the Taiyaki. Guess I'll have to take some nice pics next time. Oh and the soft serve they are cranking out at this place are all made from scratch, not from powers. They really looked fake (in a good way) when they came out just because of how nice the soft serve all looked, they know how to get that perfect swirl. For all you Dole Whip fans, they have it here and you can get it swirled with milk which I think makes it taste even better. There was even a seasonal pumpkin spice flavor that had a pleasant and real flavor compared to so many artificial pumpkin flavors I've had in other seasonal items They are located right on Las Tunas in what used to be LABobatory, right next to Golden Deli. So as you might know there is a parking lot, that is often busy. But if you can't find a spot, you should be able to find some street/residential parking close by. We stumbled on this store looking for ice cream after lunch at the Thai restaurant nearby. They featured soft serve ice cream which was light in texture and milky. I ordered a Nutella Taiyaki which was made on the spot. They handed me the thing after five minutes and told me to wait a few minutes before taking a bite because the filling is very hot. My life changed a little bit with that bite. There is no description of what a Taiyaki is on the menu so I was pleasantly surprised. The filling is surrounded by a thin layer of mochi which itself was crisp on the outside. So texture upon texture upon texture. So addicting! Found out later that it originated in Japan in 1909 and is usually made using a pancake or waffle batter. The mochi version is a win IMO. I ordered a croissant Taiyaki to go with the intension of having it for breakfast tomorrow. There are chairs inside but no tables. Toppings are self-serve near the pickup end of the counter. Not too much indoor seating available (couple stools), and a few chairs outside. Service was quick and friendly. Note: discount on each taiyaki if you buy at least 3 of them. Tip: I'd recommend getting the taiyaki separate from the ice cream and putting them together after if you prefer the taiyakis to be hot. I LOVE the taiyakis here! I've gotten taiyaki cups here twice already and have enjoyed it both times. The taiyakis are lightly filled if you get the ones with the soft serve while traditional taiyakis have much more filling. It's awesome that you get to choose dual-flavor soft serve too (pineapple milk, and matcha chocolate). The soft serve is flavorful but not overly rich or whipped and melts in your mouth very pleasantly. The taiyakis themselves are crispy on the outside ESPECIALLY the new croissant-yakis! I believe they're grilled with a little bit of sugar so it legitimately comes out tasting like a liege waffle, it's so good paired with condensed milk or salted caramel sauce at their self-serve topping station. The shop is easy to find, in a little strip mall right off Las Tunas near Alhambra and parking sometimes is a little bit of a pain in the lot if you go during after school hours since Alhambra High is very close. First time the guy at the counter was nice, and second time the girl was super sweet and friendly. I was recommended this place as they're known for their taiyaki and soft serve ice cream. Decided to try the red bean, Nutella, and limited green pea taiyaki. Have to say, it was AMAZING! Delicious soft serve ice cream with taiyaki fish.  The cup size is actually quite generous, so my friend and I decided on sharing the soft serve and ordered an extra taiyaki fish which turned out to be a perfect treat! I think since the dole whip it's dairy free vegan it's not quite the same taste as Disneyland. Alas, my face/skin will appreciate the dairy free and avoid break out.  For the taiyaki fish we chose red bean fillings. They make these fishes in advance so they come out quickly.
