The noodles are so good here. You can't go wrong with a Cantonese egg noodle I like yan yan special shrimp, beef, and pork. I like the beef chow fun and I like when they burn the noodles so it's a little black and crunchy. I order the dry one and it has beef black mushroom Peapod and bean sprouts it's custom made for me. They have a really good lunch special and it's seven days a week. The food is fast and fresh. I found a discount before online if you spend a certain amount not sure if it's there anymore, but give this place a try.

Yan Yan Cuisine is a family favorite. We've been going here for years. They have always been consistent in both carry out and in the restaurant. On this trip, we ordered Mongolian beef, special Cantonese chow mein, and cashew shrimp. The food was delicious and flavorful. It delivers a truly authentic Cantonese style cuisine. I highly recommend Yan Yan Cuisine.

05/04/21 - I was up in Highland Park so I gave my sister in Deerfield a call to see if she wanted to grab some lunch. She suggested Yen Yen in Buffalo Grove. I arrived there before her so I had a little time to scope out the restaurant. Yen Yen is located in a strip mall in Buffalo Grove. We ordered 3 dishes. We ordered the filling items * Shrimp Egg Foo Yong - This dish came w/2 patties, gravy & white rice. I found this dish to be average & by this I mean there really wasn't anything that stood out for me. I have had better & I've had worse. * Shrimp Lobster Sauce - This was excellent. This also came w/white rice. The shrimp lobster wasn't an overly large portion but the seasoning was very good w/nice plump shrimp & a very good lobster sauce w/egg, pieces of pork? & green onions. * Beef Dish? - The beef was super tender but unfortunately it was too salty. My sister ordered a dinner size portion as she wanted take home but the portion size wasn't very large considering the price point $16. She ordered this before and the rectangular plate pile was filled entirely w/heaping portions. (See the picture of our order) The restaurant is very nice and clean, the server was awesome but I felt that food fell a little flat. For a $44 dollar lunch I would expect a little more

    Buffalo Grove's best Chinese food!

Ordered general tso chicken. It was McDonald's chicken nuggets with sweet and sour sauce on it. Easily the worst Chinese food I've ever had.

I wanted to give a proper review. Don't believe some of the low rated reviews. If you look at their…read moreprofiles, they give every place a bad review. To clear things up about their dining area, they have 2 small tables outside and 1 small and 2 big tables inside. Small tables - 2 chairs. Big tables - 4 chairs. On weekdays, you don't need to make a reservation. On the weekends due to their limited dine in area, I would recommend a reservation to be safe. You can make a reservation through Google/Yelp or phone call. Parking is easy since it's in a strip mall. There is also a 3% charge if you use plastic. Just a note, I tried looking at their food pictures on their website, but it kind of runs slow. Sometimes it would freeze. I think they need to fix it. I would return here to try other items. I would highly recommend ordering off their Malaysian menu instead of the miscellaneous. Don't order orange chicken or General Tao's chicken. Very cringe because you can get that literally anywhere. Get the Malaysian food because it's hard to find in Illinois. The owner is very sweet and the service is attentive. We ordered lor bak, nasi lemak, Hainanese chicken rice, hokkien mee, and kuih talam. Just a FYI, the portions are very generous. For 2 people, I would recommend ordering 2 dishes. Prices are reasonable for what you get. A pot of tea is $6. -lor bak 5 - I highly recommend this appetizer. It has crispy pork sausage with shrimp fritters, beancurd, and cucumber. It comes with two sauces. Everything was delicious. -nasi lemak 5 - I love the chicken rendang. The meat is very tender and it has a deep flavor. You can taste the spices that went into it. -Hainanese chicken rice 3.5 - I gave Penang Malaysian Cuisine a 4 because the rice was delicious. HD's version, the rice was not as moist and flavorful. The chicken was not bad, it's about the same as Penang's. It could be a bit more succulent without the sauces. -hokkien mee 4 - this won't be as tasty as in Malaysia. I liked the big pieces of shrimp, an adequate amount of sliced pork and hard boiled egg. The broth is still very good. If it's your first time having this, I still recommend it. -kuih talam 5 - I would suggest this if you like pandan. It's not sweet. It has a soft and bouncy texture.

I asked for shrimp with garlic sauce but received chicken with garlic sauce instead -- and honestly, it was still amazing. The fried rice wasn't my favorite, and the egg roll was just okay, but overall it was a great experience. This past Thursday, February 19, I decided to order online while on break. I placed my order at 6:05 PM and didn't receive it until 6:55 PM. Unfortunately, the food wasn't quite worth the hour wait. I ordered the chicken wings as an appetizer -- and whatever sauce they use should honestly be bottled and sold because it's that good. For my entrée, I got the Happy Meal (fried shrimp, chicken, and beef with white rice). It came with two free egg rolls since I spent over $20, which was a nice bonus. That said, this particular dish lacked a bit of flavor, and the sweet-and-sour sauce wasn't great. I was definitely disappointed in the wait time during dinner hours. I'll most likely be back, but probably not at peak dinner time -- and I'll be trying something different next time. As for ambience and waiting, make sure your phone is charged because for my wait, the TV was just on standby mode.
