Recommended by a friend, all I knew was that it had authentic cart laden dim sum. I did not look at the details ($$). did not know where Chinatown was in San Francisco and Ubered over here, so I guess that should have been a giveaway. They also have a nice patio for outdoor seating. Food was fantastic, particularly the sesame balls, which were not the traditional rice with red bean inside. Did not expect to pay over $170 for three without tip either, and quite honestly would never expect to spend more than $75 for three. Employees were cordial, 2 to 3 carts went around. Limited menu. Will definitely visit Chinatown to explore and for dim sum next time

Yank Sing really said "premium dim sum experience" and actually backed it up. Every single dish tasted insanely high quality, from the texture of the dumplings to the freshness of the seafood. You can tell they're not cutting corners here. But the real main character? The Beijing Ribs. That sauce was absolutely out of this world -- sweet, savory, sticky perfection where you start contemplating ordering 3 more plates before finishing the first one. Legit one of those dishes that rewires your brain chemistry a little. Service was smooth, atmosphere felt upscale without being pretentious, and the whole experience just felt polished from start to finish. This is the type of dim sum spot where you leave full but still think about the food hours later. Highly recommend with my utmost respectful regards.

Fresh hot steamy dim sum treats made in the old fashioned way served in OG push carts. Quality of food is nicely done. Service is fast and efficient. The ambiance is clean and well lit. Do not be surprised by the tea charge.....everything has a cost. Support local small business! JYW highly recommends.

COVID has decimated the SF financial district and adjacent areas. This once vibrant restaurant is a shell of its former self. The menu is less extensive than the pre COVID version and some listed items were not even available at 11:30am which is a disappointment (no chicken feet). The staff speaks Cantonese, Mandarin and English but mostly English in catering to the weekday lunch crowd. Ladies still push steamer carts, and fried item & dessert carts around the restaurant for you to point out. If not on the specific cart, just ask the ladies and they'll have someone retrieve it for you. We had Home Sei Gok, Siu Mai, Gai Lan, two types of Steamed Dumplings and Orange Jello for dessert. The best item was the Fried Meat Rice Dumpling. I ordered the Orange Jello hoping for a orange jello version that would duplicate the 1960's orange pie from Sun Wah Ku restaurant on Washington in SF Chinatown. No luck in the duplication..... Service was good, I think they have more items available on the weekends and possibly seating out into the central atrium (at least they used to). The atrium does not have the waterfall from the skylight any more...darn! Overall, expensive and limited menu on weekdays.

The restaurant is super clean and the workers were very kind. However, the food just did not stand out, especially for the price point. The green beans completely threw me off, $12 for a small plate of GB the size of my hand. The ha gow was a little dry, but the XLB and siu mai were actually pretty good. Everything just seemed a bit expensive for the small portion size.

Sad to say that this dim sum location has disappointed me. Loved the Spear location so wanted to try this smaller one. Made a reservation and was greeted by a friendly hostess...then left alone for quite a bit. We were early, came at 11:15 am. No one came by with tea order or food cart. When it came we were served lukewarm dim sum. Though tasty we had to send the Shanghai dumplings back because they were rock solid cold. And had to ask twice for the fried taro dumplings ( lukewarm as well). Maybe it just wasn't their day but disappointed anyway.

So mid. Potstickers were lukewarm and thick, making them really chewy not in a good way. Filling was good but a very small amount. Eggplant was good but not stellar. Would not return, but glad I can check this place off my list

Nice cart style dim sum spot. It was empty at 11:00am on a Friday. We got a bunch of items from the carts, but there are a few dishes you have to order directly from the server so we did that as well. We got: - Shrimp dumpling - $9.50 - Pork & shrimp siu mai - $9.50 - Shanghai kurobuta pork dumpling (XLB) - $16.00 - Sauteed string beans with dried shrimp - $12.50 - Sweet rice dumpling - $7.50 - Turnip cake - $9.00 - Crab claw - $15.50 - Beancurd roll - $7.50 - Egg custard tart - $15.00 My favorite was the fried sweet rice dumpling. The turnip cake and sauteed string beans were good as well. I didn't love the XLB because the skin was a bit thick. The pu erh tea was great, and the servers helped refill the pot once we finished the first one. The inside is clean with a nice ambiance. Service was friendly & efficient.

Smaller of the two locations. Food is amazing. We had the usual suspects - ha gow, siu mai, chicken feet, shrimp balls, scallop dumplings, xlb. Disappointingly, this location doesn't have Cheung fun. Service is fast and efficient. The restaurant is clean but pretty tight.

Yang Sing was just okay in my opinion. Definitely better options out there. Their dinning room is pretty small but they have outdoor seating. Some dishes you have to order from the server but most things are pushed around in the carts. They have a very slimmed down menu when compared to other dim sum restaurants. My favorites were the Shrimp Dumplings and Kurobuta Pork Dumplings. Both were flavorful and decently sized. They hyped up the fried rice but it was just okay.

Situated in the heart of SF. Came here to meet up with a friend of mine. A few parking options around. Space is small. But it is one of the rare spaces still offering the traditional dim sum cart. Food was okay. Service was quick and friendly. I personally prefer dim sum with thinner wrapper. Flavor was good and fresh. Just personal preference. Overall, a good option for people working close by.

Anyway, having tried it, I can say it was good, but not so good that I'd expend that much energy to secure the reservation. Have to say, service was really great. Servers were attentive without being overbearing, which is always welcome. We ordered several dishes and dined, as they suggested, family style. To start, we were given two complimentary dishes, the roasted peanuts and the smashed cucumbers; both were nice appetizers. We ordered the Chiu Chow green beans, the Mongolian beef noodles, the claypot rice with lop cheung and bacon, the salt 'n peppa prawns, and the whole fried petrale sole, the last two being on the day's "specials" board. The winning dish was definitely the green beans. All the food was good, but seemed to be a bit overly salted and highly spiced. The piece of beef I had from the Mongolian beef noodles was tender, but one of my friends thought her piece was a bit tough and too chewy; we all thought the beef could have been cut into smaller or thinner pieces. We also shared two desserts since it was a birthday celebration (there are only three options offered). We had the red bean shaved ice and the mango pudding. Both were good (not "oh, boy, yummy" good, but good). Nice to try. The price wasn't outrageous ($200 including tax and tip), but I think this will be a "been there, done that" experience for me unless a friend absolutely wants to go again.

We got the A Banquet menu for 5-6 people with some dish add-ons. Going down the list of items I tried: - Salt and Pepper Dungeness Crab: My favorite dish from here. There were huge chunks of crab meat and I enjoyed the crispy and flavorful batter coating. This was cooked well and cracking the shell was relatively easy. The meat could've been more succulent, but this was still great. The pricing for this dish alone is market pricing. - R&G Cantonese Appetizer Combo: This came with Peking duck, char siu, cold baby octopus, and jellyfish. Everything was good and tasty! Especially liked the jellyfish texture. - Crystal Prawns w/ Pine Nuts: Solid, not mind-blowing though. - Black Pepper Steak Cubes w/ Macadamia Nuts: The steak was tender and flavorful. I also enjoyed the crunchy macadamia nuts. - Fresh Crab Meat & Fish Maw Soup: Generous amount of crab and fish meat and was warm and comforting. You do have to self-season though. - Roasted Chicken: My first time having a chicken cooked like Peking duck and this was great. I liked the crispy chicken skin. The meat was on the dryer side, but it is chicken meat. - Virginia Ham with Tender Greens: Interesting name for this dish lol. This actually quite good and flavorful. We got this instead of the dried scallops which was part of the Banquet A menu which was odd. This wasn't communicated to us. - Crispy Thai Style Sea Bass: This was just okay for me and too sweet and sticky for my taste, but my other family members really enjoyed this dish. - Yang Chow Fried Rice: Solid fried rice that went well with all of the dishes. - Crispy Mixed Seafood Noodles: Standard, nothing mind-blowing. Not included on the A Banquet menu, we added this on. - Dessert: Almond jelly with red bean. Not too sweet and a nice finish. Overall, I enjoyed everything! Beef Stew Clay Pot with Bean Curd & Mushroom - juicy pieces of beef and braised tofu and mushrooms hit home with a nice balance of protein and veggies. This hearty dish will fill you up. Steamed rice - nothing special, but it does cost extra and doesn't come with any of the clay pots. You're going to want some so make sure you get a bowl or two. The service is exceptional here compared with other sit downs of this caliber in Chinatown. The staff members are personable, quick to serve and refill beverages, and accessible when the need arises. It does get busy here so the small staff may have trouble during rushes. Given the older building, naturally the small bathroom is expected. Surprisingly though, they have free WiFi here so I suppose for those looking for a pit stop in your city trek to regroup or for the locals looking to camp a bit for work, you've come to a great place to grab a bite too! Overall, Hong Kong Clay Pot represents the Hong Kong cuisine exceptionally well and is accessible, affordable, and delicious. The menu covers a variety of items and will be sure to satisfy everyone in your party. Everything is made fresh and is balanced in flavor, texture, and nutrition. Tourist or local, you'll be welcomed with hospitality. Each meal is meant for family style and will be sure to fill each stomach up while encouraging community building during your dining experience. Get a taste of Hong Kong simply by stepping foot into San Francisco Chinatown!

We ordered : - Braised beef wonton noodle soup : noodles had that perfect springy bite, the broth was light , well seasoned & comforting. The braised beef was melt in your mouth tender, and the wontons were fresh, plump, and juicy. Everything was on point. - Fish porridge : I appreciate that the congee is not too soupy/ watered down. It was hearty and fish was delicately cooked just right, not dry or rubbery like some places. - Curry fish balls with pork rind : Good side dish, nicely seasoned with a spicy kick which we loved. Parking was relatively easy, there's metered spots across the street. Service was fast & efficient, the aunty who served us was super friendly and on top of everything. The interior is clean and comfy with a chill, welcoming vibe. Definitely planning to return, especially for another bowl of that beef noodle soup!
