Yardhouse is the best. My family and I were out for family date night and were picking up dinner to go. When we arrived to grab our order the hostess said that we already picked up our order. Now, I'm sure I look like a lot of people m, but the hostess was super apologetic. We showed her the Apple Pay receipt and said we never picked up the order and someone bamboozled us both. We were looking for a place for happy hour and found this place with great happy hour food as well as drinks. They have several locations in Austin and we visited the one at the Domain. Each day may differ, but when we visited for happy hour, there was about 20 minute of waiting. You can go shopping or something while waiting and they text you when your table is ready. There are plenty of seatings in pretty big space, so even though there were many people, it didn't feel like crowded at all. Happy hour is offered Monday through Friday, from 3 to 6pm. You get $4 off for half Yards and it's fun to drink with such a loooooong glass, so you should definitely get it. I love they have great selection of beer! It's a bit pricy than other pubs, I think, but that is why you should visit this place for happy hour! We got happy hour food: Blackened Ahi Sashimi, Fried Calamari as well as boneless wings, my favorite was ahi sashimi (aka tuna tataki). We ordered the pretzel as an appetizer and the display was super cool (forgot to take a pic). The carnivore pizza was also delicious. For drinks, we got the black orchid (sooooooo yummy, sweeter but still very gentle and not in your face), the smoked dragon (tasted like a straight up campfire, I wish it was a little fruitier but still a cool drink), and my husband got one of the mules (I can't remember the name but it had pineapple and was so good)! Our server, Logan, was so sweet and really added a touch of personal intimacy which I liked a lot. He was super casual and made the experience feel less formal and more cozy and friendly. He must've remembered it was birthday from when he checked my ID because he brought us a free dessert. My experience on February 26th was nothing short of a public humiliation, and I am appalled at the level of disregard shown by this establishment. I painstakingly made a reservation on February 14th for a crucial team dinner on Feb 26th, with teammates flying in from across the country. Had to call to make the reservation because the location in Texas does not accept online reservations. In retrospect, this should have been my first clue of the impending disaster. I was promised an email confirmation and a manager call. Neither materialized. Suspecting an issue, I called on February 25th, only to be told my reservation was nonexistent. I was forced to make a _second_ reservation, again with no confirmation or follow-up. Then, on the day of the dinner, February 26th, I called _again_ in the afternoon for confirmation. The same story: no reservation. I finally insisted on speaking with a manager. Erick, who identified himself as the manager, took my details *again* and assured me that the reservation is confirmed and I simply needed to check in. Imagine my absolute disbelief and mortification when I arrived at 6:30 PM with my entire team the same day, only to be told, _yet again_, that there was no reservation. Instead of apologizing for their monumental screw-up, the staff proceeded to ARGUE with me, insisting I was wrong despite my repeated calls and confirmations. Eventually, they agreed to seat us, but not without repeatedly emphasizing that I "didn't have a reservation." This was not a simple oversight; it was a complete and utter breakdown of their system and a display of appalling customer service. This was not just a ruined dinner; it was a humiliating and embarrassing ordeal. The incompetence displayed by Yard House is unacceptable. I expected a professional and reliable experience, and I received nothing but a series of lies and arguments. I will NEVER return to Yard House, and I strongly advise anyone considering making a reservation to look elsewhere. Save yourself the stress, the embarrassment, and the utter disappointment. Food: the cheese curds are always a must as well as the spinach dip. So good. The bbq chicken pizza and the calamari are always a great option as well. 3 appetizers and a pizza is enough food for 3 people. Environment: they have plenty of indoor and outdoor seating. Restrooms are usually clean. They always play good background music as well. Service: staff is friendly and attentive for the most part. I did have one bad experience where we were trying to order before the end of happy hour, but the bartender would skip us. When we finally ordered and closed out our tab we saw we had been charged regular price even though we had ordered before 6pm. Price: You can get a lot for a decent price during happy hour, but expect it to be pricey otherwise.
