My mother, disabled sister, and I came in for happy hour lunch as I have done countless times before. Our server Irene was so unprofessional it nearly made my mother cry. We came in at 2:45 when happy hour started at 3, and Irene said my mother was rude for trying to save a few dollars. She slammed my beer on the table out of some strange rage. Irene was hands down the rudest server I have ever had. Irene, you should be ashamed of your self. After attending a Red Sox game, my girlfriend and I stopped here for some drinks and appetizers. Luckily, we left the baseball game a bit early, so we beat the rush of people out the stadium, and was able to get a seat here right away. They had a huge beer collection here, which was my favorite part of this place. We just went with the House IPA draft beer they had, and it was decent. We decided to order chicken nachos and traditional wings. The waiter was friendly and could tell we were from out of town, and was very helpful. The nachos were a very nice portion size, and loaded with toppings. Again though, it was just average for me. They were very good, but nothing stood out in the platter. As for the wings, there were 10 to an order, and we split the flavors between buffalo and whiskey black pepper. Between these two flavors, I enjoyed the whiskey black pepper more. Buffalo was your standard. The chicken meat did taste good on the wings though. Overall, this was a fun place, and all the menu items they had did look good. Yard house was a college staple of mine due to its happy hour, where appetizers are half-off. My go-to dishes are the poke nachos and the off-menu item frachos (nachos with fries in place of the chips). These 2 dishes will feed 3-4 people for less than $20, not to mention their huge selection of beer options on tap. They also have a beautiful fireplace in their outdoor seating area. I came here more for the food than the sports bar and drinks experience. Considering it is a chain restaurant with a focus on the drinking experience, I was pleasantly delighted by the food I got. Food I've tried: (* = my favorite) - Their menu lists the calories next to each item. Which I 100% appreciate, but a part of me was hoping to not know I am consuming 2000 calories worth of cheese in one sitting. They also have a little "v" to indicate which dishes are vegetarian. - POKE NACHOS* ($15): fantastic! The fish was surprisingly fresh, and there was a perfect balance of the fish and other toppings. The chips aren't the normal nacho chips, they are more airy and light chips that pairs amazingly well with everything. Honestly, this may be the best poke nachos I have had which is not what I expected from a sports bar. I was so full but I could not stop eating this. Quantity wise, you get a very generous portion for $15. - CHICKEN NACHOS ($15): very delicious, hearty quantity. Unlike some other nachos I have had, there is actually a sufficient nachos to topping ratio. Everything is seasoned well. - MIGUEL'S QUESO DIP ($13): tastes what you expect from a queso dip, done well. The cheese was not overly salty, and it was nice and creamy. - WISCONSIN FRIED CHEESE CURDS ($12): essentially fried cheese balls. The batter was a great balance of being thick enough for a crunch but not overwhelming the cheese inside. The cheese was not overly salty. They are dangerously good little balls of cholesterol. - They have a very extensive drink menu, especially for beers. If you order the half yard size, it comes in a very very tall cup. - ACE GUAVA ($16.50 - half yard): very nice and fruity. Good balance of sweet and cider flavor. Highly recommend if you a very fruity cider and you like drinks on the sweeter side. - ESPRESSO ($3.50): surprise surprise they have caffeine to help you get through the night life. Unfortunately when I got there ~8pm in the evening, they could only do drinks that did not require foaming the milk. So I opted for an espresso shot with a side of milk. The espresso was slightly burnt for my taste, but honestly considering I wasn't expecting the availability of espresso at all I was pretty content with what I got. Atmosphere: - Classic sports bar feel, very large and numerous seating spaces (indoor and outdoor). - Lighting is on the dimmer side, with a blue tinge. - One thing I noticed was that the floor felt weirdly slippery especially when walking to the table. Not slippery enough to fall per say but enough for me to notice. Service: - Extremely friendly, loved our waiter. - They have a convenient tablet ordering system at each table. It is also great for groups because you can easily split your bill using the tablet. Each person can pay for their own thing on the tablet and it subtracts it from the total table bill. - When we visited, it was not overly crowded so I cannot speak to how the service would have been had it been more packed. My husband, son, puppy, and I had traveled a long way from the West Coast to Boston. We had checked in across the street at Residence Inn, Back Bay. We were looking for a good meal after eating crappy, airport food all day and we did not feel like traveling far as it was raining and we had the baby. We walked across the street and chose Yard House. Luckily, they were able to take us right away without a reservation. We had asked for a booth because of the stroller. This place was dark! I mean, I could barely see. I literally had to use my cell phone flashlight to read the menu. The menu is so extensive and so hard to read, I simply chose a Cobb salad just because I felt like it was easy. My husband ordered the Philly cheesesteak with a side of onion rings, and we both shared the Ahi tuna tartare wonton crisp appetizer. The appetizer was great. I was actually surprised at how fresh the fish was and also how large the portions were. It was probably shareable for four people. We were so hungry that we demolished it though. I ordered a Sauvignon Blanc, I believe it was called Kim Crawford. I wasn't a fan because I don't like a fruity finish. I was hoping for a drier finish. At least I tried it so I know. My husband got a Sam Adams and also a bourbon on the rocks. Their drink menu and food menu is beyond extensive, they have a little bit of everything so it was really hard to choose when we showed up super hungry. The Cobb salad wasn't great, I added salmon to it. I didn't ask if it was wild caught, but I'm assuming it wasn't It just tasted like it wasn't made with fresh ingredients. My husband wasn't a fan of his meal either. The onion rings were just OK. Overall, the ambience was tough because they had pretty fun music, but it was so dark I couldn't see anything. The food isn't great and the atmosphere is either too dark or you have a light shining in your eyes while you are eating. The servers were very nice but really didn't do much. Came here at 11:30 pm on Super Bowl Sunday. The place was nearly empty except for a small handful of tables, which was interesting to see since the restaurant is so large. My friend asked for a beer and the pint they served him was completely flat. Not a fun time... I guess they were running out of drink ingredients because people probably ordered a lot during the game. I tried asking for their new cocktail and they couldn't make it. I always feel a little weird reviewing chains... What I can say is this place is great for large parties and they have a huge drink selection. They have this tablet on each table that allows you to split the bill for each person, which is again great for large parties. The service is usually decent but not spectacular. The happy hour specials are a good deal. Sadly, they close at 12:30am so if you like late nights then I suggest visiting literally any other bar in Fenway which is guaranteed to be open later. read more

I have to say, I'm generally one of those foodies that hits chains occasionally for a beer with friends, but otherwise not often. I know that sounds snobby, but it is also true. I have been pleasantly surprised by this Yard House many times. The service is prompt and friendly enough, the menu is extensive (a la Cheesecake Factory-ish), and the beer list cant be beat I have to admit. I suspect this location may be better run than some, but don't have much frame of reference. Tv's everywhere for sports viewing of all sorts. Big space for easy group meet ups. Star off for the expensive price tag. Location probably doesn't help being in Fenway, but the cheapest app on the menu is 5 dollars and most stuff is more in the upper teens-20s. read more

I always enjoy my visits to yardhouse. It's a chain, and it doesn't totally disguise that, but it has little enough of the chain feel to make it desirable. Dimly lit, but with lights above each table so you can see your menu and dining/drinking partners, which is a good balance. The half yards are popular, and are a good way to go if you want to commit to that much of one beer (but maybe don't want to end up ordering too many- stick to one half yard). At around $15 each, they're not too expensive. However, beers also come in many other sizes (including flights) to suit anyone's preferences. The food is also always great. They manage to have a large menu that covers a lot of different areas of cuisine and do it well. I have had a handful of things on the menu but will definitely continue to try more as I continue to come to Yardhouse read more

Yard House is one of my favorite casual bars to go to catch up with friends. They have a WIDE selection of beers and I think most, if not all, are offered as a half yard. The food here for the most part is also pretty good, especially for a bar. They do have food happy hour on most days (i'd double check which) from 3-6 then 10-close. There are usually seats available with no wait if you come on a weekday night. They also have outdoor seating which is super nice (like 2 months of the year when New England weather is actually warm lol) I almost always religiously get the chicken nachos to share with my friends. However I was a little bit disappointed last night when I came here. We had ordered the chicken nachos, and when they came out the nachos were missing the chicken.... lol. So our server brought it back to the kitchen to have it replaced. We waited about another 10-15 min for the new set of nachos to come out, to find that it was the exact same dish we had gotten 15 min ago with literally ONE piece of shredded chicken in it. Um. I was very disappointed to say the least lol. I'm still rating this place 4 stars because I think that's the first time that's happened and the manager (?) came over to our table to personally apologize and took the nachos off of our bill. Yard house is still one of my favorite bars to come to even after what happened last night! Every server I've had there was super friendly and helpful. Can here for a late night bite to eat with my boyfriend. A game had ended a little bit earlier so it was busy but we got seated right away. My boyfriend had a beer and I had blackberry drink (forget the name). The drink was ok; it tasted a little syrupy like fake blackberry but not terrible. Our first time to a Yard House. It was shockingly terrible. The bar was dirty and sticky. We got an eye roll for asking to have it wiped down. Asked about the difference in the spicy edamame and the regular. The response was a nasty, "One is spicy, and one is not." All attitude. I was simply asking about flavors or seasonings. We ordered take out which took quite some time to get. When we got to our room, cold food, no utensils, no napkins, or any condiments.
