I always enjoy my visits to yardhouse. It's a chain, and it doesn't totally disguise that, but it has little enough of the chain feel to make it desirable. Dimly lit, but with lights above each table so you can see your menu and dining/drinking partners, which is a good balance. The half yards are popular, and are a good way to go if you want to commit to that much of one beer (but maybe don't want to end up ordering too many- stick to one half yard). At around $15 each, they're not too expensive. However, beers also come in many other sizes (including flights) to suit anyone's preferences. The food is also always great. They manage to have a large menu that covers a lot of different areas of cuisine and do it well. Yard House is one of my favorite casual bars to go to catch up with friends. They have a WIDE selection of beers and I think most, if not all, are offered as a half yard. The food here for the most part is also pretty good, especially for a bar. They do have food happy hour on most days (i'd double check which) from 3-6 then 10-close. There are usually seats available with no wait if you come on a weekday night. They also have outdoor seating which is super nice (like 2 months of the year when New England weather is actually warm lol) I almost always religiously get the chicken nachos to share with my friends. However I was a little bit disappointed last night when I came here. We had ordered the chicken nachos, and when they came out the nachos were missing the chicken.... lol. So our server brought it back to the kitchen to have it replaced. We waited about another 10-15 min for the new set of nachos to come out, to find that it was the exact same dish we had gotten 15 min ago with literally ONE piece of shredded chicken in it. Um. I was very disappointed to say the least lol. I'm still rating this place 4 stars because I think that's the first time that's happened and the manager (?) came over to our table to personally apologize and took the nachos off of our bill. Can here for a late night bite to eat with my boyfriend. A game had ended a little bit earlier so it was busy but we got seated right away. My boyfriend had a beer and I had blackberry drink (forget the name). The drink was ok; it tasted a little syrupy like fake blackberry but not terrible. To eat we had the hot chicken sandwich, fried chicken tenders w/ friends appetizer, onion ring tower, and poke nachos. The poke nachos were SO good. 10/10 would recommend!! I would go back there just for them. My boyfriend enjoyed his chicken sandwich. The onion rings were pretty standard. Our first time to a Yard House. It was shockingly terrible. The bar was dirty and sticky. We got an eye roll for asking to have it wiped down. Asked about the difference in the spicy edamame and the regular. The response was a nasty, "One is spicy, and one is not." All attitude. I was simply asking about flavors or seasonings. We ordered take out which took quite some time to get. When we got to our room, cold food, no utensils, no napkins, or any condiments. The server literally didn't give us forks even, napkins, anything to eat with and we asked we were given the most aggressive attitude ever. At the end when we were ready for the check, the server wiped the nachos plate on my shirt and I moved to the side he kept pushing towards me.... Here is a place that never lets me down! Yard House is one of my favorite place to get together with friends when I'm in Boston. We were hungry and just wanted to get a quick bite to eat so we waited about 20 min got seated. Had the Coconut Shrimp, Pork taquitos, and the Chicken nachos which were all good and flavorful. Add in some draft beer towers and its all goooood! The food prices are high so if you wanna pay 35-40 for a steak you might want to go to a steakhouse, but the service was good. I have been to a few different Yard House locations. This one did not quite stack up with the rest. I think this place is good for drinks, but for food I found it a little lacking. First the good, available here is the usual Yard House excellent beer selection, and speciality cocktails on the menu. The cocktails were well prepared and the beer, ...well it was cold. Good marks there. Good marks on drinks delivery also. The food at this location was sub par on my visit however. Poor marks here. We ordered appetizers with our meals and everything came out at the same time. Now everything that came out at the same time was not even all hot or warm. So I really did not understand what the rush was. My fries and other sides were not warm and not the same temperature as the meat. Burgers in my party were not hot or even warm either. I am sure this is a place that just heats up it's food ...but apparently they do not do that well. We did stay after our meal and migrate outside to an outdoor area for a nightcap and that was nice, actually very nice. Anyway, and in summary ... this place is good for drinks. It's a nice accommodating space with good food and good vibes. Firecracker Gardein tenders were great. A nice crunch to them in a sweet and spicy Asian flavor that was lip-smacking good. The vegan burger was okay. The patty and the cheese threw me off and I'm a veggie burger lover. I like to try the veggie burger wherever I go. I just didn't really like the taste. I think I would've enjoyed the fresh toppings by themselves which were a nice helping of avocado, tomato, arugula, red onion and a tasty onion bun. But it just didn't do it for me. And for a restaurant of this scale and panache, the french fries were disappointingly sub-par. They tasted and and had the feel of cheap fries you get tossed into a basket at a cheap dine in spot. I went here for the first time with my friends visiting from Maine who are very picky and this was the perfect restaurant. The menu is very big they have everything from sushi to burgers. we got the big pretzel to start, the cheese was okay it seemed a little bland to me and I thought it was pricy for a pretzel... Nothing amazing, the pork belly was slightly charred and over grilled and @ $5 a taco, a little too pricey for something so small. We've been here many many times and have had good service, good food, and lots of beer options! However, our two most recent experiences have been truly terrible. If I was rating based on those 2 alone, this would get 1 star. BUT yard house deserves the acknowledgment of times past as well. Our recent issues happened because our server simply wasn't around. We got drinks 30 minutes after ordering them (thank goodness we ordered food at the same time, it came out 2 minutes after our drinks), we saw our waiter three times - once to take our order, once to deliver drinks, once when we got his attention to ask for the bill. The burger was very undercooked, but we didn't try to flag him down because we'd already had such a bad experience that it wasn't worth waiting for a correction. We understand short staffing during pandemic-times, but it was frustrating to see everyone else get drinks right away from other wait staff and have our waiter claim that the delay was due to the bar. We were also put off by the fact that the man at the door telling you to put a mask on didn't have a mask on. We know it's just an indoor requirement in Boston, but that's still not a great look. Our 2nd recent experience was just general chaos. We'll probably be back at some point, but not soon. read more

Yard house is one my go to places. If you have large group of friends with whom you want to enjoy some good beer. This is the place to be. They have ample variety of beers and ciders. And they serve those in yard size glasses. You can kick start your weekend with yard of ale. And never go wrong. Not only that, they have amazing food menu too. A great spot to unwind with your colleagues after work. It's right on Brookline Avenue so it's a pretty busy place; even early in the week, the noise level is pretty high. And I don't think anyone can hold a candle to their wide selection of taps that wraps around the entire bar and the humongous menu in the area! I took my colleague here because she's very limited when it comes to food. They have your traditional American bar dishes and the not-so traditional dishes so it worked out. But after going out a few times, she's feeling adventurous, so she tried the Shrimp Ceviche and she loved it! Must-try: Grilled Korean Beef Short Ribs Problems: The containers to put your leftovers in are pretty cheap (they're one of those plastic, press the corner tabs down, to seal it up boxes) or made to not close at all. Maybe they should consider doing it for the customers if there's a specific technique for sealing it up or come by with a stapler or tape instead of watching us struggle with trying to close it. And when it came to the checks, it does take a while to get it. I went out with a larger group the other night and they couldn't find my tab and then another person had to drop the check off. Great place to grab drinks with friends! The service is relatively quick and it is easy to order. The only issue I had is that they don't take reservations. My group was a little big, maybe 10 people or so, and we had to wait about 1.5 hours for a table (arrived at 5:30 ish and seated around 7). The called us when a table was ready so we came over and were seated fast once we got back to the restaurant. We ended up not eating dinner at Yard House since we went to Chipotle and Saloniki nearby for food because it was faster, but still had drinks. The environment was nice and dimly lit. We were seated at a very spacious table and although there were a fair number of people there the space did not feel crowded. Our server was very friendly and our food came quickly. I ordered a pomegranate margarita and later a Moscow mule. Both were very sweet and absolutely delicious! Been coming here for years because I work nearby. The service is always bad - every single time I've been there a server gets confused and brings me someone else's food. Servers at the bar are hard to get, they'll leave you for 30 minutes without checking in. The food isn't good, it's fine for happy hour prices but otherwise it's shockingly bad. I think they're understaffed - I get a lot of friendly bartenders but they simply have too many people. That's what seems to cause the 30 minute delays. The bathroom here is always pretty gross - and the faucets produce ice cold water (always, this has been the case for three years) so I've seen a lot of ppl not washing their hands in the bathrooms. The front staff are almost always distracted - every time we're here we stand at the front while three people laugh at a phone for a few minutes.
