We walked in today, expecting a long wait on a busy Saturday at noon. Hostess quoted us 25 mins, less then 15 minutes later we were being seated. Our server, Mason, was very friendly and attentive! He checked on us multiple times, made sure our drinks were never empty and provided all around outstanding customer service, which truly is hard to come by these days. This place used to be great but has really fallen from grace. Today I visited for the first time in a long time, and I was shocked to see the state in which it is in. There were dishes piled up everywhere; at tables, on the bar tops, and behind the bar. It was like visiting a messy persons house with dirty dishes piling up in the sink. There were dirty plates that sat for nearly 30 minutes before someone cleared them. I took a seat at the bar and immediately noticed the bar area was was filthy. There was food all over the ground, the taps were splattered with residue, and the floor behind the bar was flooded and bartenders were walking pools of liquid. I began to look for the source of the flooding, but after observing the bartenders carelessly spilling beer with every pour, the cause became apparent. The pools of liquid must have been attracting fruit flies because they were everywhere. But the worst of it was the smell; unfortunately what had once been a fine establishment has now acquired the smell of an old musty bar. In addition to all that, the service was extremely slow and staff seemed at times confused or unsure of what they were doing. After years of being a go to spot, It was sad to see this place in the state that it's currently in. I hope the owners someday turn this place around. Very sad to see what it has become. read more

We stopped by this place when checking out along Beach. We did come out at a busy time (a Sunday afternoon) but the wait was not bad (~45 minutes). We walked around the shops and on the way back we were called. Our table was in perfect view to the boats which my children loved! Our waiter was AMAZING to say the least. Our drinks were never low and he answered all questions we had about food. Sadly I didn't take pictures, but the half yard beers are great! My mule was perfect. The a rookie dessert was amazing! Location: along shoreline village in long beach. Parking is $2 every 20 minutes to one hour. Ask the hostess to validate when leaving so bring your parking ticket! Venue: This yard house in particular is my absolute favorite because of the balcony view. Its so beautiful since its setting is right on the water and makes the perfect date night! They also have great heaters when it gets closer to the sunset. Food: Your all American cuisine!! Yard house is also pretty high on my list for top happy hours. I'm a big fan of the Yard House chain and this location is just okay. I really gave it the stars for the beautiful view overlooking the water and for the convenience of location. There is ample parking in the lot, but just be mindful they only validate for 2 hours, anything more you're charged ever 15 minutes. Blah! The ambiance is nice and monotoned. Our server was friendly, but not that attentive to our table. I won't hold it too much against her being that is was a Sunday evening and pretty crowded. But the real lack of stars was due to the main dish ordered. I ordered the spicy jambalaya and it was okay but wasn't the most flavorful, nor did it really have that kick that people who eat it know and love. The seafood was cooked well, but the linguine was bland. This was my first time trying this dish and will try it at another Yard House to compare. Always enjoy the food here and the outdoor area is very nice. Can grab a drink with your family and pet and the prices are reasonable. However they are perpetually understaffed. Warning, if u go to happy hour at the yard house. The bartender will charge u not the happy hour price. Unless you use the happy hour verbiage. Whatever that is. It's happy hour time. I'm there for that. My bartender was a salesmen and charged not the happy hour price even though u order from the happy hour menu. The manager was kind and she resolved the charge from full price to happy hour charge. Apparently u need to use the right verbiage to get happy hour prices at happy hour. The last time I ate here was more than fifteen years ago (before I started Yelping), so an update is definitely in order. The interior got an update, and the menu refreshed as well. I tried the "new" menu item, the poke bowl, partly because I am reading "The China Study", and I am trying to consume less animal protein. The presentation was interesting, and I was especially intrigued by the rice patty that was grilled into a "cake". It's certainly an interesting twist to the traditional rice bowl, and I like the grilled flavor of the rice too. The poke could use more flavor, but the accompanying seaweed and the avocado somewhat made up in the flavor department. Overall, it's a decent bowl, albeit a bit over-priced in my opinion. I've had better poke bowl for half the cost. Service was average, and I was seated rather quickly, since it's 5 pm on a Wednesday evening. read more

I came to visit Yard House on Labor Day 2020. Check in line is via the front of the restaurant (on the side facing the Harbor). There is no online waitlist for Yard House, so you will have to physically put your name and phone number down. Afterwards, you can walk around the harbor and wait for your text! The closest parking is via a private lot. Parking is validated for 2 hours, but the rest you will have to pay- which is a bummer if the wait list is VERY LONG. I got here at 4 but the waitlist was at max.cap. Waited in line for the waitlist to open again at 4:45. We were told that it would be an 1.5 hour wait for our table. The wait was really only 30 minutes! (YAY!) TIP: The wait time (after putting my name down) wasn't as long as the estimated time and I came on a holiday, so if you want to venture the harbor, I would suggest to stay close because you have a limited time to claim your table! I see ppl reviews about the plates of food and they are right because I order the macaroni plate and it was a bad choice they put old chicken that didn't even taste good. This is my first time here. They are known for their half-yard glasses and their wide selection of beer. But after waiting 35-45 minutes on a Sunday afternoon, in their poorly air-conditioned waiting area, I played it safe and got a Sun Kissed Sangria. This had peach puree, Rum, pomegranate seeds, and strawberries. This was strong but not too strong and i would definitely get this again. For food, I was just in time for the daily lunch special which is from 11am - 5pm? I got the Barbecue Chicken Pizza and a kale caesar salad. The pizza was okay. But the Kale salad was surprisingly incredible. It had Kale, Brussel sprouts, romaine lettuce, raisins, parmesan cheese, bread crumbs, and the dressing. All of that made up a salad which reminded of olive garden but slightly less acidic. It was really good. For desert, we got the mini trio sampler, this included: - cheesecake brûlée - this was not my favorite as it was really really small and honestly tasted like a regular cheesecake. - chocolate souffle cake - this had vanilla ice cream added but it was still very delicious, due to the bitter sweet chocolate. It doesn't make it too sweet. I loved it. - peach apple cobbler - this was the best of the three. It had peaches and apples and the crust which mixed well with the ice cream Other things to note are that the patio over looks the ocean and the docks where all the boats are, the venue is really big with lots of seats with additional seats along the bar (they have big TV's playing sports) and that the music is pretty good - it had a good selection of rock music with the exception of Death Cab for Cutie and the Killers (sorry!). The parking on a Sunday can get really full but they do validate the parking so bring the parking receipt with you. I would come back again to try out more of their food and beer, maybe on a weekday so i won't have to deal with the lack of parking. read more

Only thing I really have negative to say is that we had to wait forever for my toddlers pizza. they did bring French fries and usually this isn't a big deal but she was a hot mess and I had to ask the waiter where her food was at. I had an extremely uncomfortable and upsetting experience at this restaurant. While dining, I was harassed by other patrons--rude comments and inappropriate behavior that made me feel completely unsafe. What made it worse was the staff's lack of response. No one should have to endure that kind of treatment, especially in a place that claims to offer a welcoming atmosphere. The atmosphere is always pretty lively and it's great that it's on a board walk for when you want to either take a romantic stroll or bar hop with your pals. Worst service on 9/11 @ 8:15 p.m and ghetto vibe outside with restaurant allowing a table of 4 buy drinks for some random guy on a bike OUTSIDE of the restaurant blasting his boombox with paisa music. Like c'mon now. Who and how ghetto is that and why does the restaurant allow this... First, I waited for a table for about 40 mins, which I expected to because I was forewarned, but when we finally got the text that our table was ready the hostess told us to stand aside and wait for the host. The host didn't arrive for like 10-15 mins and we're just standing there in everyone's way cuz check-in person told us to stand by the post. Then someone asks if we were waiting for anyone and when I said we we were waiting for a table and received the text, and were told to stand and wait for the host who, apparently, was her, she basically said, "Sorry, I was in the bathroom..." I never seen the check-in person and host communicate once the whole time I was standing there for anyone to know we were even waiting so....yeah.... Second, they seat us at the very back of a high tabletop next to some closed umbrella that was blocking half of our already small table, near the exit ramp. I asked to sit somewhere else and the host did a fake look around and said there's nothing left when they clearly just did not want to give us a table with 4 seats cuz I saw 3 other empty and 1 table that just needs to be cleaned. I did not ask and wait 40 MINS to be seated outside to be placed in the far back with no space for food, drinks, appetizers, salads, and yes, I order a lot when I go out so that table is a no. Lastly, this establishment lacks the common courtesy or decency to not let other patrons trash the vibe here. I've never seen such a thing and forgot what country I was in for a second. I don't even care if it's Mexican music, or Asian, or EDM, country, or Top 40...no one wants to hear other people's music blast through busted boombox speakers hootin' and hollerin' with some rando who was just riding by and now cheersing everyone. I had to yell over it just to talk...good luck trying to have a date night or have any type of conversation with that around. Needless to say, we left before our server even approached our table. We waited 50 mins in total, spent $10 bucks on parking, consumed an hour of our time, and an extra $50 because we decided to play games just to kill time before our table was ready. STAY AWAY ON WEEKENDS. My wife and I came for my birthday, we knew they would have a long waitlist so we checked in online(45 minute wait) and drove on over. Upon arrival parking was a nightmare took use 20 minutes to park. Checked in and they still said 45 min wait. We got lucky and found a spot at the bar 20 minutes went by and not a single staff member looked or way nor anyone around us.
