My party of 4 came here for appetizers and dinner at 5:30 on a Monday night and we had excellent service and excellent food. I have never been to a Yard House so this was my first experience. Our server Andrew got our drink order and let us know we could order off the happy hour menu until 6- half off appetizers and $$ off drinks. We quickly ordered fried Mac and cheese, chicken strips, pepperoni pizza, and cheese curds to share. All for half off. Nothing like a nice discount to make it a little easier on the pocket book. We were happy with everything. The chicken tenders were nice and crunchy and came with Dijon mustard and ranch. Not spectacular ranch but I forgive that. The pepperoni pizza was thin and crunchy, slightly spicy sauce and a good amount of cheese- surprisingly yummy. The breading on the cheese curds were not as dark as I've seen other places but they were still crunchy, salty and delicious. Oddly, the came with honey and some sort of horseradish dip which was odd. The star of the show: macaroni and cheese bites with tomato bisque for dipping. Came to this location for the Happy Hour Specials. Always a great value and exceptional food. We were seated immediately and our server came over and wanted us to order right away. We asked for more time as two in our party had never been to a Yard House. After the 4th attempt at rushing us to order I explained we weren't in a hurry. The friendly vibe changed and when we finally ordered the pizza was cold and had to flag down a runner for condiments that should have been brought or offered when we ordered. Came to grab a bite to eat before the movies and wasn't sure what I was in the mood for but definitely not the loud echoing atmosphere. Place is clean with-a somewhat friendly younger staff I got the ahi appetizer which tasted very good served with nice crIsp veggies. Then got the fish and chips meal which was large portion and tasted alright. I love good fish and chips so I critique them hard- these were light flakey cod a decent batter that was crunchy but bland and oily. Location: it's in a good location, but parking can be hard to find. There is no parking that is close to this restaurant as it's in the middle of the village by the theater. Ambiance:. Lights are dim, plenty of sports on TV, and plenty of indoor and outdoor seating. If you choose to dine outside when it's colder, no problem, there are heaters. Service: It was a Tuesday night, and we got right in as a party for 2. We had plenty of time to decide on our drinks and Apps. I'm not sure how they are on water refills, as we didn't get water until after our first round of drinks. Food: the pretzel was good with the horseradish mustard. The ribeye looked better than it was. It was a little over cooked and tough. The meat could've been seasoned more too, there was little flavor for a ribeye. Of course, you don't think of the Yard House as a place for really great steaks, so I shouldn't have been surprised. My wife had the filet and she said it was good. Hers looked more like medium well vs medium. Bathrooms: they were clean and orderly. Drinks: there a lot of beer choices so take your time and look through them. The beers were ice cold and flavorful. To sum it up I won't go out of my way to come back, but if there's a group of that want to go I won't request something different. read more

The Nashville hot chicken sandwich must have lost some steam coming all the way from Tennessee. I didn't think you could have a negative heat value, but that's about what this sandwich had. I imagine the folks at Prince's in Nashville would just shake their heads. There, your mouth is on fire and you're sweating buckets of water. Yard House doesn't dish up any of that excitement. And for a $13 sandwich, I expected more than just a throwaway bun. Nothing special there. It didn't even have much rise to it. The truffle fries, on the other hand, were pretty good. I felt like the menu offered way too many choices. When it takes you 20 minutes to go through the menu, it's too long. Which typically means a place doesn't excel at much. The lighting reminded me of a 1960s steakhouse. Turn on the lights. Save money somewhere else. I guess most people come here for the beer. For the rest of us, it's kind of so-so. read more

Overall a great experience. We went here for dinner after the Village Christmas Tree lighting with a group of 11. We were pleasantly surprised the wait wasn't very long. The service was great, and the food came out in a timely manner. All our food was really tasty. I had the Chicken avocado sandwich, my husband had the Korean cheesesteak sandwich and my son had the Nashville hot chicken sandwich and we all loved our food. Love the variety of drink options and their Happy Hour menu is top notch. At my last visit, I ordered a Lost Coast (northwest pale ale) and their Chicken Nachos during Happy Hour and got this enormous platter! Couldn't quite finish the whole thing but left extremely satisfied and with a happy belly. In my experience, this place has been a hit or miss which makes it hard for me to give it an objective overall review. Some of my visits have been amazing: the customer service has been on point, food comes out by the time I'm done laughing at the first joke at the table, and the meal is a solid ten. But then I've also had mediocre service to go along with semi undesirable food. Their dim lighting builds great ambience which is perhaps why this is a popular spot to meet up with friends and family. Meal hours are super busy and a wait can be as long as an hour long. Watch out for the post-movie rush particularly during the premiere of popular movies (Made this mistake once and learned from it). The Yard House has become one of our favorite places to take friends and we never see a reason to not return! The indoor/outdoor seating options are great, depending on the weather of course. The wait time to get seated can sometime be awhile on the weekends, but overall not bad. They don't make reservations but do have call ahead options. This is where you can call about 5-10 minutes before arriving and have your name put on the list... it just helps decrease the time you are waiting. But if the wait it going to be awhile just grab the pager and walk around the Village while you wait! The restaurant is always clean and the staff is quick and very friendly. They personalize your experience with a smile and laughter. They also have a great knowledge of their menus and their many drinks available from the bar. Our most favorite reason we take friends though is because they have a HUGE variety of menu options. Visiting family and Boise and we went to Yard house for dinner. Our server was Justin and he was nice enough and this review is not for him but yard house as a whole. The runner did not bring the side to my entree and I had to ask Justin about it later while my siblings were already 2/3 through their meal. My glass of wine also had a fly in it. Justin took the price off but not before I had it in my mouth and spit it out. It was at the bottom of the glass and had obviously been there for awhile / not recently dead because it wasn't floating and was stuck to the side. And their 3-6pm happy hour consists of good priced tasty ciders and half off apps and pizzas! They're really accurate with their wait time and you can just walk around the village while you wait for your table to be ready. Every server we've had has been so positive and friendly! This place is huge and modern with lots of seating indoors and out. We arrived around 8:00pm and the place was in full swing. Appetizer portions were small but entrees were good. This is actually a pretty good place to eat. There's a large selection of food to choose from. I would say this is an upscale sports bar. That's reflected in the prices. They have burgers, finger foods, chicken, tacos, and loads of drinks. The food was good. I'm rating based on my most recent experience, plus a star because usually it's okay. Saturday afternoon we went for a late lunch. We ordered drinks (after it took a bit to be greeted, but that happens) and after about 10 minutes they arrived. Five minutes later we were checked in and asked to send my drink back as there was food stuck on the bottom of the martini glass and some of that food was floating. A new drink didn't come after about 5 more minutes so we had to flag our waiter down to ask him what was going on. During this time we ordered an appetizer that came with the wrong dippers (chips, tortillas, veges- "dippers" ;) ) and I mentioned the appetizer could stay but could we just have chips- she rudely said no and shuffled it away. I don't like to send food back to the kitchen that I'm still going to be eating- just didn't make sense. But okay. Then finally my clean drink came. When lunch was served we were told our waiter was no longer there and we had a couple different servers take his section. This was a pretty rough experience. I go here a lot but typically sit at the bar with a girlfriend. I was disappointed to say the least. I would have at least expected my first dirty (because of the floating food) martini to be comped but there were no apologies nor recognition for any of the mistakes nor unsanitary issue. Tonight my husband and I celebrated a very special anniversary! We always think about branching out to a new spot BUT.... We always find our selves back at Yard House! With a reliable menu and a super sweet staff- it's really a no brainer! Poki nachos, regular nachos and kale Cesar is my fave! They have the best happy hour! Highly recommend! My husband and I went here a while ago and had the greatest meal and service! I had the whiskey burger medium well, which gave it a grilled crispy sear. Our waiter Cal recommended it and it was the best cheeseburger I ever had in Boise or anywhere for 20 years! We had other food and drinks, but that whiskey burger was the star. Thanks to Cal and manager Jay Dodson. Cal kept our drinks filled and had a great personality and efficient service style, excellent! Today I was the 30th reviewer of Sizzler, which has been in business at that location for decades-- it really shows you how popular of a place this is. Here I will share with you my experience: Where is the door?!? I had a hard time finding the door, but then I noticed that it was near the movie theatre. I wasn't the only one for myself and a stranger chuckled and agreed that since there was more than one of us with the same issue we weren't dorks at all... were we??? One of my besties met me and she texts me asking where the entrance was-- HAHAHA life is cute! Yard House is located in the Village of Meridian. It's right next to the Village Cinema and around many other eateries. When you walk in there is a small narrow area where you walk to the counter for seating. There wasn't much room here and I needed to get by to get to my dining companion as I was the second out of three to arrive. This didn't make too much sense to me because this is the exit, too. When exiting you have to wait for people that are checking in, which is surrounded by the bar (the bar is basically in the middle of the whole place). I chose to walk out the door leading to the outdoor seating and cut through the small fence they had. I sat right by the kitchen which is an open kitchen viewing concept, which I really like. It's interesting to see how they make your food, how hard they work, and how clean or unclean the area is (this was VERY clean). All of the seating appears to be super close to all others, almost as if you're eating with everyone else-- no privacy, which makes private or inappropriate conversations difficult. The staff was friendly and helpful. We laughed together and I asked her to join us, which she said she would if she could lol. Happy hour! M-F 3pm-6pm and late night 9 pm-close S-Th We went for happy hour and they have many appetizers that are half off during happy hour. We went here on a Saturday evening to celebrate my friend's birthday. Line was fairly long; we had to wait for 30 minutes to get a seat. But the wait was worth it. As appetizer, we ordered fried calamari with spicy tomato sauce and roasted jalapeño tartar. I thought it tasted bland. I ordered one of their House favorites, Southern fried chicken breast with creamed corn, bbq beans, spinach mashed potatoes, and bourbon gravy. It was bomb! The boneless chicken was tasty, and I loved the creamed corn in particular. My friend ordered seared ahi steak sandwich with arugula, tomatoes, caramelized onions, peppercorn aïoli, grilled rye, and fries. I took a small slice and I thought it was delectable. The service was horrible, they sat us down and had us wait over 30 minutes to the point where we put the call server on the tablet and they saw it but nobody even came, around 5 different employees walked passed it and we waited an extra 5 mins for someone to come up and even acknowledged us, the attitude of our waitress was awful. She had such negativity and an attitude the whole time, as if your gonna act like that why even work at a food establishment. The food is great and 100% recommend but the service is awful. This Yardhouse was located at the Village shopping center and was pretty easy to get parking! Maybe I came on a less busier night? I heard it can get pretty busy sometimes. We were seated immediately and greeted by our server who provided us with the menus and showed us the happy hour options, before we even asked! We decidided on the Poke Nachos, BBQ Chicken Pizza and Chicken Tenders with buffalo sauce on the side. As usual, everything was amazing--especially the Poke Nachos!
