Mediocre slow service especially if they perceive their tip will be based on your order not their service. Food has done a 180* turn and formerly good dishes are now not worth it and simply over spiced just to be hot. I appreciate something with a little heat but please, avoid making it amping up the heat just because you can. Tried to connect to management but they didn't really care. Unfortunate. read more

Not our best weekend lunch visit, service was the biggest miss. Our server was either annoyed with life or simply didn't want to be there. Items were forgot, attention was scarce, and smiles were few and far between. Food was good, beer was cold, and I like that you can pay with the kiosk now, especially when the server doesn't want to interact. This is our absolute favorite "happy hour" restaurant in Idaho. We come here every time we visit. The staff is always so helpful with food and beer recommendations, and they are very attentive with each table. The food is amazing, and the 1/2 yard beers are SO great. I've only been to Yard house 3 times but every time I have gone I have seriously liked it. The Portions are a great size, the first time I got a plate I thought the serving was too small but it is the perfect size to get you full and maybe even have some left overs left. I really like their firecracker shrimp. It comes served on crispy rice, and the seasoning on the shrimp is just right. The location is great, it's right in the middle of the village so you can people watch if you choose outdoor seating and you can have privacy with the indoor seating as well. It's a great atmosphere for me and my friends and we will definitely be coming here more often. read more

Had a really bad experience there last night. I love the atmosphere in the yard house but this is probably the last time I'll be back in a while. Ordered a vodka, soda and asked for a splash of pineapple and they said, "no problem". Not evening mentioning that there is an upcharge to my drink to add a "splash of pineapple". Drinks were full of ice and very little alcohol. My companion and I ordered the steak bowl and the portion was very small and we had both ordered the steak medium rare. The pieces came out to well done and it was chewing on very hard meat. The flavor of the dish was good but the meat was really bad. Walked out of there $88 plus tip and both my companion and I were still hungry. Won't be going there again anytime soon. Bummer. read more

We ate there last week, and I'm still frustrated with how we were treated. The young manager (tall, slim, sandy blonde hair w/ glasses) was condescending, petty, and rude. Sadly, we won't be going back... ever. There are way too many fantastic places to go for a nice dining experience. Really like going here. The food is fabulous, happy hour is amazing and it's right next to the theater so makes a great date night. Service is always consistent. Went on a busy beautiful Sat .. & it was busy !!! Got seated quickly , ordered drinks & ordered . Took .... awhile.. lol. The waitress assured us it was on it's way & it shortly showed up. I ordered the Thai Grilled Pork Chop ( a lighter calorie option ) & oh my it was absolutely delicious!!! It had a cauliflower stir fry which was delicious, but the pork chop was best I have ever had .. didn't miss the calories. Definitely will order again. 5 stars for service tonight! We were originally going to have a "date night" in Boise but our plans changed and we decided to stay closer to home. We decided on yard house to catch happy hour. We arrived around 5pm and were seated in the outside (heated and covered) patio area. Our server (I forgot her name) was top notch! Super friendly, fast service and checked in the perfect amount of times. We had a great experience and the food was hot and fresh. I like the added tablet things on the table so whenever you're ready, you can just pay. We'll be back! The happy hour was great! read more

The food used to be good. Tonight it was terrible. We were 5 of us and we all noticed the serving size drastically shrunk. My Ahi dinner was nearly $25 and it had the tiniest rice ball... same size as a golf ball. What the heck? Couldn't afford to put more rice on the plate for $25? The veggies were cold. The rice was under cooked. And most of the ahi was overcooked. Very disappointing. read more

We had a great time here last night. We walked into a sport bar like feel with music playing. We arrived before happy hour ended at 6 and were greeted with a smiling waitress, Mimi. She was so friendly! We had never been at the Yard House since we moved here. It felt like a gem hidden with a big attitude! If I recall they have 130 beers on tap. We looked at the menu and everything looked so good. I ordered the roast beef au jus with french fries. My husband had a hamburger and onion rings "he said it was like having a juicy burger without the juice". The steaks and fish and other hamburgers and oh my the appetizers looked so good. Absolutely HORRIBLE service at this place every time we've been. I've never written a review before now, but last night was the last straw for us. We won't ever consider walking into this place again. My husband was given a cocktail in a bag from Sids Garage - he was told by management that he was permitted to walk around The Village with this cocktail in hand. He was just about done and our group decided on one more round, so we went into Yard House. My husband immediately left to use the restroom, leaving me and my friend sitting at the bar. Before ever even greeting us, and with no smiles on their faces, TWO male bartenders came over and immediately began lecturing us about the cocktail in a bag. "You need to take that back outside immediately, and we know exactly where that came from, Sids Garage, and they are technically breaking the law by doing that." I'm sorry, couldn't this have been handled in a WHOLE lot nicer way?! The tone, the facial expressions, the body language, everything about this interaction was NEGATIVE. It could have been handled in a much more professional way, which would have resulted in us staying and these two bartenders making additional tips. We grabbed all of our belongings and left before my husband had even come back from the restroom. Bad form Yard House - bad form! I sincerely hope there's some further training for these gentlemen and they can learn how to properly interact with customers who have made a simple mistake. We aren't children there to be reprimanded and lectured, we are paying customers. A simple, "please take that back outside or we can throw it away for you," would have sufficed. read more

I have tried the Yardhouse twice now. Once during happy hour and once during lunch. Happy hour wasn't all that great if you ask me. The wine tasted old and the food was mediocre. For lunch I tried the mushroom pasta from the appetizer menu and it did have a good flavor, but my service was awful. I sat at the bar since I was alone and there were 3 servers/bartenders back there but they just couldn't seem to keep up or didn't care about service (which is strange when someone else brings you food). Sometimes Yard House is great, other times not so much. Today was one of those other times. Drinks took too long to arrive, food didn't come out at the same time (tomato bisque arrived 10 minutes after the grilled cheese, fry sauce didn't arrive until two reminders later), and the food that did arrive wasn't even prepared correctly. I ordered the Nashville Hot Chicken Sandwich. It came out with zero hot sauce on the chicken. I was told that maybe the cook didn't know the proper way to prepare this dish and given a side of sauce instead. The manager came over and didn't make any kind of offer on how to fix things. And once we were ready to leave it took another 10 minutes to get a couple or to go boxes from our server. C'mon, Yard House! You can do better! read more

We have been to the Yard house 3 times 9/2 the service has been absolutely phenomenal. 2 of the 3 times we had Paul as our server and he goes above and beyond. The 2 times we have come in and had Paul as our server has been after high school football games and we come with 4-5 adults, 5 cheerleaders, and my son and his buddy. We never ask for a refill on our soda's the dad's are always asked if they want another beer right as they take that last sip. He makes amazing recommendations. His service has made the yard house our place we go out to eat now! We plan to go back tomorrow night with the grandparents and are sad Paul won't be there. Came to this location for the Happy Hour Specials. Always a great value and exceptional food. We were seated immediately and our server came over and wanted us to order right away. We asked for more time as two in our party had never been to a Yard House. After the 4th attempt at rushing us to order I explained we weren't in a hurry. The friendly vibe changed and when we finally ordered the pizza was cold and had to flag down a runner for condiments that should have been brought or offered when we ordered. Also, probably not a great idea for servers to complain about tables at entrance to the restrooms. Just a suggestion. read more

My party of 4 came here for appetizers and dinner at 5:30 on a Monday night and we had excellent service and excellent food. I have never been to a Yard House so this was my first experience. Our server Andrew got our drink order and let us know we could order off the happy hour menu until 6- half off appetizers and $$ off drinks. We quickly ordered fried Mac and cheese, chicken strips, pepperoni pizza, and cheese curds to share. All for half off. Nothing like a nice discount to make it a little easier on the pocket book. We were happy with everything. The chicken tenders were nice and crunchy and came with Dijon mustard and ranch. Not spectacular ranch but I forgive that. The pepperoni pizza was thin and crunchy, slightly spicy sauce and a good amount of cheese- surprisingly yummy. The breading on the cheese curds were not as dark as I've seen other places but they were still crunchy, salty and delicious. Oddly, the came with honey and some sort of horseradish dip which was odd. The star of the show: macaroni and cheese bites with tomato bisque for dipping.
