We did the "Join Waitlist" option and it was very helpful. Our wait time was minimal. It's been a while since I've been to Yard House and nothing seems to have changed, except maybe some menu items and types of Scotch and/or whisky, which was a little disappointing. However, if you're looking for something intimate and quiet, that is not the place to go. It can be very loud with everything going on and around your table. Our server, Leila, was very nice and helpful when it came down to questions about the menu and mixed drinks. I had the grilled cheese with tomato bisque, which was super yummy! Decided to eat Yard House before visiting the Winchester house. Only seen my waiter once. My pokey nachos were skimpy. I wish I seen my waiter more than once, and I would have told him that the water tasted like chemicals and the passionfruit tea that was described as semi sweet was not sweet at all, I wish I could've brought this to his attention so he could've fixed it for me. I even loaned the person sitting next to me my extra plates since she was waiting on her extra plates. Happy Hour- like I mentioned only came specifically for their Happy Hour menu. Appetizers are half off. Alcoholic drinks were $2 off. Large selection of drinks and beer. It's definitely a loud environment and there's plenty of TVs around if you're planning to grab a drink and watch the game with some friends. The service was great, we were grateful to get our food and drinks on time considering how busy the servers were. My main issue is with the food itself. I made a reservation/check in here a couple days prior to the actual day of coming in. I made it because I was coming in with 16 people for my birthday dinner and I just wanted them to be prepared. I also asked on the phone, how many tabs we can split up to and they let me know that we can do however many. The day of the dinner comes and they call me twice that morning, first time was to confirm the dinner for the night (which i told them I would be 10 min late), second time was to tell me that I needed to push back my reservation to 8 because even if i were to go in at 7 i wouldn't be sat till 8 and if i went in at 8 there wouldn't be a wait. Well... there was a wait. They told my friend 45 minutes , then told my boyfriend 20 and right after telling him 20 minutes I got a text saying my table was ready. It was all unorganized but I was trying to be understanding since it was very packed. We all sit down and theres two servers, each are helping out a side of the table. When the Lady server (with glasses and I think her name was Maria) starts with mine and my boyfriends order, I let her know we were doing split tabs. She let out a huge sigh.... Like we just got here and we weren't even being difficult they did the split tabs and i feel that the gentleman that was helping her was more helpful and more kind then she was. She just looked like she didn't want to be there and that maybe another table pissed her off but she wanted to take it out on us. Towards the end one of my friends asked the gentleman if they do birthday desserts and he says yes and that he'd let the other server know (Maria?). No dessert came out so my friend asks the server if they do birthday desserts and with attitude she said no they don't do that. My friend then tells her that another server said that they do it, she got irritated came back and dropped off the dessert and started singing happy birthday to the wrong person. My wife and I had a late liquid lunch with appetizers here, and were pleasantly surprised with our experience. I didn't know much about the Yardhouse, but was impressed with the service and quality of cocktails and food. We started with a mojito and a lavender/lime martini. Both were well made and not too sweet. I also had their top shelf margarita. It also was expertly crafted. We had 3 appetizers: the blackened ahi sashimi, fried cheese curds, and the fire cracker shrimp. The blackened ahi was served with a thicker soy base sweet sauce that could use some editing. The cheese curds were fried with an interesting whole grain mustard in the batter. Interesting and very good. It was served with two great sauces: a horseradish blend and hot honey. This was not your typical fried cheese curd appy. Lastly, and my favorite, was the fire cracker shrimp. Crispy fried shrimp stacked on a fried rice cake drizzled with an Asian sauce. No heat and slightly sweet. I really enjoyed this dish. The rice cake was a throw away. The dish would be stronger if the shrimp sat on top of a large onion ring...but what do I know. This restaurant really surprised me. The quality and unique preparations and their strong cocktail program makes this a great stop for happy hour.
