This is a solid sports bar style restaurant with a variety of food items on the menu - the location couldn't be more perfect, sitting right across from the Amalie Arena - I can only imagine how packed this place is when the TB Lightning plays. We decided to grab lunch here on Saturday afternoon, parking wasn't too hard to find but the lot behind Yard House fills up pretty quickly. We were seated right when we walked in, there was no wait time. We ordered a couple of beers and looked over the menu - our server's name was Tony and he was super nice and attentive to us the entire time. We ended up ordering the Vampire tacos and they were delicious. The crispy layer of cheese on the outside really adds a nice texture and flavor to the taco. The rice and beans on the side were really good as well - they have a bit of a kick to them, but I loved that. The restaurant itself has a nice layout - it's clean and well-kept. We sat inside but there's also plenty of outdoor seating which will be super nice on the sunny Florida days. All in all, a great experience for a sports bar restaurant. Lucky for us, we found a table and started ordering food and drinks. Although it was busy, our server was quick and attentive which I congratulate her because it must have been a long night for her. Looks like Yard House has the most reasonable prices out of all sports bars in ChannelSide which explains why it was crowded with college students. Our server José was great and stepped up after we were profiled and ignored by the other server Alexia. She looked at us sitting at the bar in front of her and walked past us three times. A man sat right beside me at least five minutes after we sat down and she came over and got his entire order (drinks, apps and entree) and cashed him out but told my fiancé to continue to hold on while she went to the other end of the bar and served ANOTHER group that also sat after us. Just as we were about to lose our cool, Jose came up and decided to serve us and apologized claiming the server was just busy from the rush. See, I was a server in the past and I know that's was BS. During a rush, you'd either take drink orders from both groups or the entire order ESPECIALLY since we were literally sitting beside each other at the bar. She stereotyped us when we sat down and decided who from the rush she thought was worth her time and was trying to make us wait long enough that the kitchen would close. She literally said to the man sitting beside me that she wanted to make sure she got his entire order in before the kitchen closed in 8 mins while we sat beside him ignored. I work at one of the largest firms in the world and we were considering using Yardhouse for our monthly happy hours for sporting events but after my treatment I'll personally make sure my firm's location never does business with Yardhouse Tampa and goes to Top Shelf a few blocks away. My fiancé is a manager at a financial company downtown and he's written this place off as well for any future catering or work events. The chips with our spinach dip were super stale anyways. The smoked cocktail I had was good and the pizza was okay but there are other places nearby where I can get better quality and far better treatment. read more

As a yard house frequent patron I was disappointed with my experience today. I'm not sure if the kiosks are getting in the way of decent customer service but we were only visited my our waitress for her to take our order and drop off a beer. She was nice but not attentive. After our food came out we waited around 5-10 minutes trying to wave down staff just to ask for silverware. I approached a different waiter who was hanging out nearby watching tv and he seemed annoyed that I asked him for silverware. After the support dropped off our food we were never approached again or thanked for our visit. We paid on the kiosk and sat at our table for about another hour and a half watching the game. Not visited again and it wasn't that busy. Fast forward to us leaving to head to the airport right after and myself and my boyfriend both feeling extremely nauseous. We both ended throwing up in the airport restrooms. I am not sure what the issue with the food or service is since I've been going to YH for years and never been sick before. I finally had the chance to try out Yard House yesterday on my way to the Lightening game. It is conveniently located across from the Amalie Arena and was a perfect spot to meet up with friends before the game. It was packed! There was a long wait to be seated but all of the staff was very friendly and I was able to place an order pretty quickly after getting seated. I go the bbq burger which came with fries and my friend got one of the salads. I would return to sit at the bar and get a drink just because they have so many televisions and it's a great location by the arena but I would pass on the food. read more

My husband and I went today which I believe was the first day they opened. As always the food was very tasty and they had a great selection of beer. However, we went in knowing that it would be a slow process as the staff and kitchen were getting their feet under them and that was definitely the case. Although it all took a while, it was still a great experience. Our waitress Lex was sweet and attentive. Now onto the food & drinks- we both started with beer- a refreshing grapefruit one for me and a house honey ale for my husband. Both tasty and refreshing! I came on a Friday and it was a 35 minute wait but the beer garden and bar outside are first come first serve so we were able to snag a seat earlier. This place has horrific customer service. We were told the wait was going to be half an hour and we ended up waiting an hour and a half. People coming in and literally leaving after having eaten entire meals. I checked with the front to see what the hold up was and all they could say was " it's Saturday ‍". Kolton was our server for the 2nd visit and was so wonderful and accommodating. For my drink, I ordered the smoked pink dragon, but with a sugar rim as opposed to the black salt rim that it comes with; great decision! For food, we ordered Korean chili garlic boneless wings, chicken nachos, Miguel's queso dip, truffle french fries, & margarita pizza to share. The table favorite was the boneless wings. My only complaint about my second visit to this establishment was that the margarita pizza was very salty. I have determined that it's either too much garlic salt on the pizza or the tomato sauce itself was over salted. I was told that they use fresh garlic on the pizza, but fresh garlic has more of a peppery taste than a salty taste, so I'm convinced it has to be an overuse of garlic salt. Nevertheless, the pizza was good enough to wrap up and take home. Yard House I'll definitely be visiting at least once a month...I love this place and the staff are so nice. read more
