    Receipt

[[HIGHLIGHT]]It was a great experience having dinner there with my family[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]--until I realized they charged us for tips twice. How can a restaurant automatically add a 15% gratuity without clearly informing the customer, and then, when you pay by credit card, ask you to select a tip percentage again on the payment screen? That's not a "tip suggestion." That's double charging. Customers shouldn't have to carefully inspect the receipt to make sure they aren't tipping twice. Very disappointing way to end an otherwise enjoyable meal.

Tried YGF Malatang and went with the beef bone broth. The soup base was rich and flavorful, with that comforting, slow-simmered taste that pairs really well with all the ingredients you pick. You can customize everything, which makes it fun and easy to get exactly what you're craving. The meats and veggies were fresh, and had a large variety to choose. Only reason it's not a full 5 stars is that the broth could've been a bit hotter when served. It was warm temperature. Overall, still a solid spot for a quick, customizable malatang fix. Would definitely come back to try different combinations.

First time trying this place. I guess it's a well known build your own hot pot place. Your ingredients are weighed at $14.99 per pound with the exception of the soup. Even in the late evening finding a table takes a bit of time. Overall it's an interesting concept. However I'm playing the game of how little can I put in my bowl for the weight and guess each other's weight. There's a variety of meat and veggie options. Service is pretty attentive with water refills. Water is a must as some soup bases are spicier than others. The odd thing is paying at the end where after weighing you don't pay yet until you finish eating. Recommend checking this place out.

My new favorite place for malatang! [[HIGHLIGHT]]I loved how many options they had available as well as how spacious the store actually is.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]It looks pretty small and unassuming at the front but as you continue to walk down, there's a bunch of space to sit and eat.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The food was super flavorful, I got the beef broth in medium spice and really enjoyed it! Looking forward to returning!

First time trying and I am addicted! When you first walked in the staff will give you a table number and then you can go pick your ingredients on the side. It's based by the pound so you can pick as much or as less. Then you pick your soup base at the end. We got the spicy broth and tom yum. Both soup gives a good flavor! [[HIGHLIGHT]]The place is not big but they have plenty of tables in the back.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I would def come back again!

Can't go wrong with malatang and ygf is always my go to So glad they have this location The food is good The soup spicy level varies sometimes so it's not super consistent compared to another location I always go to Brought friends to try and they liked it

Was craving a malatang for lunch on Saturday and decided to stop by and give a local place a try! The parking lot is pretty big but shares it with other restaurants and a LA Fitness next door. We walked in through the parking lot entrance and I think it's considered the front since all the self-serve station is there. You walk-in and let them know how many is in your party and they give you a table number. You grab your bowl and serve yourself with all sorts of seafood, vegetables, and meats. When you're done, you get it weighed and can walk over to your table. You can use their self-serve sauce station to grab a sauce to dip your food in. Honestly, the only interaction we had with the staff was them weighing our food, serving it from the kitchen, and us walking over to pay. The food was good! I shared a bowl with someone and the total was $21 before tax and tip. When I grabbed the check, I noticed that my total was $27. They added on a 15% tip before I could even pay. I don't mind tipping but when I tapped my card and grabbed the receipt to sign, they added another "do you want to tip?" as if they didn't already charge me the tip already. If you don't analyze the receipt, you won't see the tip being already added and tip another time. My group of 5 felt really tricked.

[[HIGHLIGHT]]We were craving malatang on a cold rainy evening and this place was our sanctuary.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] 13.99/lb of straight up DIY hot pot heaven. I got the tom yum broth and my friends got the been bone broth with medium spicy and wow. All of the broth were so flavorful and delicious that it was hard to choose a favorite. Service was simple, kind, and efficient. If your eyes are bigger than your stomach (like myself), it is inevitable that you will be full. They have large bowl containers so you can have your leftovers as a second meal. What a deal! I will be coming to this place when I'm in the area and craving some delicious malatang.

I was excited to try this place out and enjoy company with friends. I like the idea of selecting your own ingredients, broth, and pay by weight. I will say the ingredients selection looked decently well. I had to subtract one star because I saw someone sneeze around the ingredients bar area and no one seemed fazed. The soups came out after 10 minutes upon weighing them. I did not enjoy the tom yam broth compared to the beef bone broth. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Indoors, the place was packed and everyone seemed like they were having a good time (vibes were immaculate).[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I wouldn't rush going back here, but I still had a good time

Saw YGF Malatang pop up on my FYP, so I decided to give it a try. I stopped by on a Sunday afternoon and was seated right away since there was no wait. As a first-time customer, the process was a bit confusing. There wasn't much guidance, and I initially thought you were supposed to find your seat first. Turns out, you're supposed to grab your ingredients, weigh your bowl, then sit down, and the server brings your cooked meal. Probably intuitive to some, but I was a little lost at first. As for the food, it was just okay. I've had similar meals at other hot pot spots that I enjoyed more. The ingredient selection wasn't particularly unique, and the price adds up fast. The two bowls pictured came out to $52. [[HIGHLIGHT]]I also noticed the floors were kinda dirty, and overall it didn't feel like the cleanest restaurant.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] That said, the meal was decent, and to be fair, the other customers around us seemed to be really enjoying theirs.

I controlled myself this time lol

You can't go wrong with YGF if you are looking for individual hot pot. I like this location since there's a huge parking lot. I never had issues with parking. 1. You go in, grab a big bowl by the entrance 2. You clip all the food that you want into the bowl 3. You bring your bowl to the counter to weight and tell them what soup base you want 3. You grab a number and go to your table 4. You go to the sauce counter to mix and match your own sauce 5. Servicer brings your bowl to you table 6. You enjoy your food and pay

    Jenny K.

Never come super hungry because it is easy to overdo your order like mine. Before sitting down, you would grab your own personal bowl and build it. Put as much items as you like. At the end, they weighs it by the pound and you pick your style to be made. There is soup and dry style. Plus different broths type. I recommend the beef broth because I was not a fan of the tomato I got. It wasn't as sour as I wanted but the food was still good. The tomato soup has a hint of sweetness . They got good selections of everything, from the veggies, meats, sauces, and etc. Taste clean! Depends on the person but service is okay because it's more of a self serve type of deal.

    Randy G.

Not bad for a Hot Pot place came here on my friend recommendations from her friends....I went with a tomato base no spice and that is a vegan base for them..... You fill an empty bowl with whatever you want protein, veggies and other items....they weigh it and charge you on the weight....FYI minimum is .8 lbs I believe it was.... They brought my friend and mine over but mine for some reason took about what seemed to be 10 minutes longer but it was probably like 5 min.... Overall the broth is pretty good not overly salty and a good flavor.... Service was okay and the place is pretty clean overall. I might come back here....

The lowest spicy level is mild. Not a lot of kids dine here. But kiddos went with us and ate fine.

Is the AC strong enough to be eating hot pot ? Love hot pot and want to try this place out, but I don't enjoy eating in a restaurant with weak AC and bad air circulation, especially in this hot weather.

They offer premium and prime options for their AYCE hot pot. Their prime menu was $52.95 and offered 9 different soup bases, 17 meat options, self serve bar filled with veggies, noodles and meat balls, drink stations and ice cream. I got the split pot with sukiyaki and jelly golden chicken broth. The sukiyaki was slightly sweet and full of umami flavor. The jelly golden chicken was flavorful and comforting. You can tell they boil down chicken bones from the chicken fat in the soup. They have 3 meats on the prime menu that were wagyu. All 3 were super tender and required little to no chewing. The abalone were massive and firm yet tender. We got the shrimp paste as well which was flavorful and filled with chunks of shrimp. The veggies were fresh and I enjoyed the variety. My favorites were the crown daisy, spinach, enoki mushrooms and Napa. They even have the sweet potato wide rice noodles that are slimy and chewy. Not a lot of AYCE places have it so it's a rare find. The staff here speaks Mandarin, Cantonese and English so ordering was not an issue. They have a small lot in the back with about a dozen spots which wasn't an issue on the week day.

The owner was really nice, she helped us take a pic and also took a pic for the photo wall in the back. I had split sukiayki and the mala spicy soup, both good. I also tried the tonkatsu, it was tasty. Meat took some time to come out but seafood is very fresh. The shrimp and mussel from the premium menu is very fresh. The drinks and ice cream are included. I love thrifty ice cream, with Rite Aid gone, I savor every chance I get to have Coconut Pineapple ice cream. I had the canned Herbal Tea and Milk tea, both are very good. The herbal tea was sweet, almost like dates. I will definitely come back next time I'm in the area.

Broths: We liked the Tonkatasu and Sukiyaki. I tried the the house, but it didn't have much flavor and I had to add some chili to it for more flavors. I drank more of the tonkatsu broth as a soup since it was so good. A little disappointed they dont offer a spicier soup base for spicy lovers. Meats: We liked the Short plate and chuck eye the best but all of them were good to eat. No issues on our meat orders, you just have the 5 or 6 options for regular menu. Our server was attentive and checked in for refilling our meats pretty timely. We were given last call about 30 minutes before time was supposed to be up. For the price, we felt there are many other places that offer more in the self service area with seafood options and other foods or drinks included. If you're just there for basic hot pot, then this will satisfy you if you don't care for those other items and it would be a 4*. For us, we enjoy the other things we can get at other places for a comparable price and felt there was more to be desired.
