Come here if you can or you might be met with a 1+ hour wait. I've tried to come a couple times but never wanted to wait, so I only got to try recently. When I came, I wanted to get their signature. However, I was told that it would be a 40+ minute wait. Fortunately, they had other options I could get right away. I ended up getting their shrimp party instead. They had sauce and chili oil at their standing tables inside the shop. The rice rolls were chewy and the perfect breakfast. While I wouldn't wait for these, I can't deny that they are great.

Stopped by Yi Ji Shi Mo Noodle Corp on a weekday and was pleasantly surprised there was no line. Ordering is simple, you go straight to the cashier, and the menu is pretty straightforward since the noodles only come in one size. I ordered the noodles with pork, and the food came out really quickly. I mentioned it was to go, and the cashier included a packet of soy sauce. Don't skip the hot oil, it really elevates the flavor, and you can add it before taking your order out. The noodles tasted fresh and satisfying overall. A quick, no fuss spot if you're craving something comforting and flavorful.

Hands down one of my favorite spots in NY Chinatown. I came on a Wednesday afternoon as part of a food crawl. There's almost always a wait since everything is made fresh to order but I guarantee you that it's 100% worth it. I ordered the char siu rice roll topped with a couple curry fish balls. The rice rolls are super thin, silky, and perfectly chewy. The curry fish balls were so good that I ordered another round of just the curry fish balls by themselves. Simple flavors but hits the mark every time. I also really like their sesame and almond drinks. Last time I visited, I ordered two huge cups to go so we could enjoy them back at the hotel. The prices are super affordable, which makes this place even better. Note: There is no seating. The space is tiny with just a small counter where people typically stand to eat. This is one of those spots I'd come back to every time I'm in Chinatown. Cheap eats done really well.

Went on a Friday afternoon. No line to order but there was a 50 minute wait for my food to be ready. The space is very small so you'll have to wander the streets while you wait. The food came out on time and it is very fresh! The rice rolls were piping hot and very well made (delicate and thin sheets). I got the shrimp party which had shrimp, dried shrimp, egg and cilantro. It also comes with 2 packets of soy sauce. Definitely would come again to try again their signature with the roasted pork.

The best rice rolls in the city. I love Yi Ji Shi Mo. You can call ahead to place a phone order so you don't have to wait in person. It's cash only. I always order the shrimp party with sweet sauce. Once I get the order, I put a generous scoop of chili oil and drizzle the soy sauce and sriracha. It's delicious. The rice rolls are incredibly thin but they have a nice spring to them. The shrimp are plump and I love the addition of the egg, cilantro, and dried shrimp. It makes the rice rolls more flavorful and filling. It's a small spot with a side table inside. It's more of a pickup and go type of spot. There are some stools outside and some stairs to sit on. Overall, I would highly recommend Yi Ji Shi Mo.

A lot of Instagram reels mention this place as the best rice rolls in New York City. They are absolutely right. They open early too at 7 AM. I went straight to get here as soon as my Amtrak from Philly arrived at 6:40 AM. Very small store, a lot of signage and menu outside. At 7 AM, they are already busy with phone orders. My order came out fast. I ordered the Signature. It has roast pork, egg, shrimp, and cilantro. Very thin noodles, a lot of fillings, not clumpy. I read a sign that you can tell the cashier to add peanut butter sauce, sweet sauce, red sauce, or sesame seed sauce. I wasn't aware of the sauces until later. There is a small counter with sauces. I add the one that is salty and it definitely adds more flavor. Fish balls has a bit spicy kick. They are ok. Friendly lady at the counter. Cash only. Not a big portion but enough to provide a healthy fuel for my NYC outing. I highly recommend coming here early.

Be ready for a 30-40 minute wait. Hot black sesame and almond milk drinks are A+!!!! That small little cup is the perfect amount and not too sweet, don't let the size fool you. It tasted like real fresh ingredients and not made from powdered packages. Tea eggs are sooooo good. Rice noodles rolled in shrimp is my go to- fresh and chewy hot steaming noodles are worth it. It's a little pricey, but it's about supporting the mom and pop shops that actually make good homemade food. Small lower grade level shop with nowhere to eat really, everyone orders to go. CASH ONLY. Make sure to bring cash, because I saw a few people leave sad because they don't have cash.

The best we had in Chinatown!! Texture is much more thin and not as chewy, which was our preference. There could have been more pork however and it's also not the cheapest option around.

This place proves time and time again to be my favorite spot in all of New York. This time, I got the Black Sesame Soup (Medium) for $5! It was already prepared, so service was super quick. I love the workers, they always have the sweetest smile on their face. Even though the shop is small and tucked underground, there were still spots to stand inside and outside to enjoy your meal. The soup was so good, it was just the right consistency---not too thick, not too thin---and of course, not too sweet! I definitely will come back!

Came here for breakfast and tried the Signature Rice Roll (roast pork, shrimp, cilantro, egg) and the Cilantro & Scallion Rice Roll. The rice rolls were super thin and soft -- of course, they break easily since they're rice rolls, but still very enjoyable when eaten hot! Flavor-wise, it was okay. I do wish the sauce was a bit sweeter for my taste, and overall it wasn't my favorite. I've had better rice rolls elsewhere, so I'm excited to keep trying more spots in the city! Wait time: ~25 mins and cash only

It doesn't matter if it's cold weather, early morning, or a windy breeze, this Chinatown hole-in-the-wall is worth every minute! I visited on a Saturday right after its opening, and only needed to wait around 20 minutes. Be aware that there is a longer wait time afterwards, since they make each rice roll from scratch (and with love). The menu is simple with a full variety of rice rolls, fish balls, and congee. When you walk in, they take your order and you pay in advance before picking up later--depending on the wait. All the workers were super friendly and easy to connect with (bonus if you can speak Cantonese, of course). I sampled two different items, and they were some of the tastiest I've ever had. My shrimp rice rolls were flavorful, perfect with soy sauce, and incredibly worth its $6 value. The fish balls were also tasty and full of curry flavor. Next time I revisit, the only element I'd change is getting three orders instead of just one! Do note that there's no indoor seating and only three stools outside, so prepare for a spot in advance to sit or stand on the Elizabeth Street sidewalk.

I love to start my morning off in the city with some delicious breakfast from Chinatown and this is one of those spots!! Be prepared for a wait for food minimum 30 minutes they make everything fresh!! The aunties working there are always super friendly and greets you with a smile! DO REMEMBER IT IS CASH ONLY. The rice noodles itself are always the bounciest ,soft, and melts in your mouth and I can appreciate they load it up with a lot of toppings compared to other places! Don't forget to douse your rolls in the sweet soy sauce given!

I'm so incredibly happy that I stopped here! I've been on a cheung fun kick lately and I tried a couple others but this one definitely tops them all. The rice rolls are wonderfully filled with whatever option filling you get in. The flavor is absolutely there. When I got there, I wanted to order the number one, however, they said it would be an hour wait and I was extremely disappointed. However, they did say that they had a few number 15s that were available right away and I'm happy that was the case because it was absolutely delicious. I recommend getting the number 15 if you're at all interested- the dried shrimp gave it a great flavor profile to the whole meal. I will definitely be returning when in Chinatown!

Got off the E train and when we looked for Chinese food, this place popped up with good reviews and it was just a short walk from where we got off the train. My buddies ordered the special lunches and we also got two types of xlb's, beef chow fun, and some fried dumplings. The special lunches come with a little fried rice, cold garlic flavored noodle, choice of egg drop or hot and sour soup, and main side. My buddies all enjoyed their meals. The beef chow fun was also really good and beef was nice and tender. The xiao long baos were excellent and is comparable to any place in California like DTF. Nice and juicy and great with some ginger, soy sauce, and spicy chili. Friendly service and food comes out pretty quickly. Credit card is accepted. Bathroom was also very clean, which is sometimes rare in some Chinese restaurants I have been to. If you're looking for a good Chinese meal, stop here when you're in the Chelsea area.

"How 'bout there?" he responded pointing to Excellent Dumpling House. It was directly across the street. I pulled up Yelp, saw good reviews and readily agreed. At 3:30, the restaurant was empty. There were a few takeout orders, but we were the only people sitting down for late lunch. And y'know ... it was pretty good. Wonton soup is what I'd expect in Chinatown. Wonton wrappers were thin -- my preference -- the stuffing delicious and the broth flavorful. They were generous with the beef in our chow fun. Good, but the noodles needed a jolt. So I asked for soy sauce which was sort of a solution. Shrimp with vegetables was great. A lot of shrimp, too. There are lunchtime specials on weekdays, reasonable prices, and nice people work there. Next time it makes sense to try dumplings since it is, after all a dumpling house.

Located within the historic Chelsea Market building--a former Nabisco factory where Oreo cookies were first produced--the restaurant feels theatrical in the best possible way. The soaring ceilings, dramatic lighting, and energetic atmosphere create a sense of occasion from the moment you walk in. It feels less like simply going out to dinner and more like stepping into a beautifully staged production. I started with a Botanist Gin Martini with a twist, which paired wonderfully with the meal. The surprise star of the evening was the new Cucumber Tiger Salad. The balance of flavors was exceptional: bright acidity, a pleasant touch of heat, and just enough mint to make each bite feel fresh and exciting. Every so often the mint would come through and suddenly all the flavors would click together in a way that made me immediately want another bite. This is a dish I would happily order again. Next came the Edamame Dumplings. They were delicate and comforting, especially when enjoyed with the accompanying broth. The broth adds depth and richness that elevates the entire dish. My only suggestion would be the slightest touch more salt, perhaps even a finishing sprinkle of black volcanic salt for both flavor and presentation. I also found myself wishing there were a bit more of that delicious broth because it contributes so much to the overall experience. For my entrée, I ordered the Glazed Alaskan Black Cod, and it absolutely lived up to its reputation. The fish was rich, buttery, and perfectly prepared. What impressed me most was how thoughtfully the accompaniments were composed. The pickled cucumbers brought brightness, acidity, and crunch, while the black bean and eggplant relish delivered deep savory notes and unexpected complexity. I'm generally not an eggplant fan, but this relish was outstanding. The cucumbers and relish sit at opposite ends of the flavor spectrum, yet both somehow make the cod even better. Looking back, I think a glass of Sauvignon Blanc alongside the cod would have been the perfect pairing. I finished with the Miso Caramel Milk Bar, which was spectacular. Decadent, sweet, salty, and touched with just enough umami to keep every bite interesting. The chocolate crumble underneath added a wonderful crunch that contrasted beautifully with the creamy ice cream and luscious caramel sauce. Every component worked together perfectly, creating a dessert that was both indulgent and sophisticated. From start to finish, the meal felt polished, thoughtful, and memorable. Thank you!
