It's a bit overhyped (in my opinion) and out of the way (if you're staying in San Diego) but I had to try. If the line is long, it moves somewhat fast. Also, the portions are huge. I got the smallest size and couldn't even make a dent on it. But if you take it home, it freezes pretty well. The flavors are okay. I think vanilla is the best one. Peanut butter is pretty good too. Some of the flavors change so check their instagram for the flavors of the day. Cash only.

Went mid day on a weekday and there was a minimal wait. Cash only which we prepared for. What we didn't prepare for was that coupons are printed only (can't show on phone). The portions were extremely generous. We didn't get any toppings, but we got three flavors. The dole whip was delicious. I wish I would've gotten that flavor for the whole yogurt. The vanilla was also very good it had a mild flavor that was enjoyable. The coconut was good, but had a very artificial flavor that I could've done without. Overall I'd return again but skip the coconut flavor. Also was interesting to see them use styrofoam. Lasted our whole drive home but didn't think it was available in CA.

Went during the Memorial Day Holiday and although there was a long line, it moved pretty smoothly! First time the family came here. There is/was a Yogurt Mill in La Mesa on La Mesa Blvd which seemed to have closed during the great Pandemic of 2020. This place is the real OG and the hype seems to have been going on since we moved from the Bay Area in 2017. Yogurt is so good with layered toppings (rainbow sprinkles for the win). I got child yellow cake/coconut and my wife got a baby peanut butter, vanilla, coconut w/ nuts. We'll come here again to try all the other flavors too!

Finally came to check out the hype. Luckily the line wasn't too bad when we came around 2:30 pm on a Saturday and we ordered within 10 mins. The line did get pretty long as we ate. Their sizes are huge and prices are reasonable; we got two baby sizes for $11. We got the strawberry and vanilla with Oreo pieces and graham crackers and the chocolate and vanilla swirl with peanut m&ms. The frozen yogurt was tasty, thick, creamy and not overly sweet but nothing special. I enjoyed vanilla the most as strawberry was a little tart. Very generous amount and lots of flavors and toppings to choose from. Service was friendly and let us sample some flavors. I wouldn't go out of my way to come back or wait in line for a long time, but might stop by if I'm in the area.

Been seeing this place go viral and made the drive over. Came around 2:30PM Saturday and luckily there was barely a line! We were in and out within 10 minutes, but as we ate, the line went into the parking lot. The size is very generous and reasonably priced; we got two baby sizes for $11! Ordered the chocolate & vanilla swirl with peanut m&ms, and strawberry & vanilla with oreos and graham crackers. I liked the amount and variety of toppings. The frozen yogurt wasn't really anything special, but still tasty and creamy. Vanilla was my favorite. Parking was easy and service was friendly. I don't think I'd go out of my way to come back, but would definitely stop by again if I'm in the area! And with a printed coupon next time!

Wanted to wait for the hype to die down before coming. Hype is still very much there, but would suggest to avoid the evening rush. This place is cash only. They give monstrous portions and the flavors are really good. I'm not sure if I would drive all the way out again for this but it was a cool experience!

This spot is always cracking! Line was not too long, stood there 20 min max. The yogurt was incredible. We got junior size which allows you to have 4 flavors. We got peanut butter, mango dole, cake batter, and strawberry. They also change their top 2 flavors and bottom three everyday! Pro tip print print out coupon online. Yogurt Mill lives up to the hype. I got the peanut butter froyo in the second largest size, and chose crushed peanut butter cups and cheesecake bites for the toppings. One thing that really sets Yogurt Mill apart is how they layer the toppings throughout (top, middle, and bottom) so you're not stuck with just froyo halfway through. Every bite is just as good as the first, which I seriously appreciate. Another unexpected bonus is that it freezes incredibly well. My husband and I actually ate it in several sittings since the portion is so huge. Even after being frozen, it still tasted almost as good as the day we got it. Some tips: definitely ask for your yogurt "dropped" and don't forget to bring cash since it's cash only. Love this place and already craving my next visit.

For a few years now, I've passed the yogurt mill with curiosity. There's always a very long line there. We tried to go at night, but the line was wrapped almost entirely around the strip mall. And then, add a yelp event. Someone mentioned that they will drive out of their way to go to the yogurt milll. So needless to say, I had to try it out. I thought that in the middle of a Sunday afternoon, it would be no problem. The line was shorter and it moved relatively quickly. The first thing you notice is how large the portion sizes are. So kudos on that especially in the day and age of price gouging. Staff was friendly, and I tried a sample of the tart lemonade. It was OK, but I decided to go with peanut butter and chocolate. Added turtle and mixed nuts. Perhaps I'm just not a yogurt, aficionado. The ones I've had in the past seemed to have much more flavor. Honestly, their peanut butter tasted like vanilla. And I think perhaps they need a new vendor for their turtle chocolate as it was waxy. In all, it's a good value for the quantity but not so much for the quality for me. Having said that there is always a very long line there so there must be something I'm missing. Give it a try and see what you think. Oh, and the only accept cash.

Yogurt Mill is quite simply the best frozen yogurt I've ever had. It is worth the drive to El Cajon and worth the long wait. The toppings are to die for with incredible "density" so no but is without a topping. We got the peanut butter cup which had cheesecake bites and Reese's cups. This joint is cash only. Would be wonderful if they opened another location in central SD or North county so I could visit more often!

Yogurt Mill is good Frozen Yogurt. It's not rich, but more milky than creamy. It's therefore very cooling and refreshing. The portions are enormous and inexpensive. They have many flavors and types to choose from. You don't pay by weight but by cup size. Great for Summer, or any season for that matter. One serving can last me a few days if I put it in the freezer after I've had enough for awhile. Chocolate is good and coconut too. You'll be glad you came here. read more

Prices have gone up, and up, and up, and then up some more, over the last few years. Even with the coupon (which I assume 85% of customers use), it's not the great deal it used to be (especially when you add in the toppings, which have kept going up in price and is not subject to the BOGO coupon). Okay for a date, but quite pricey now for a family. And let's get real. Everyone suspects why businesses do cash only. Now I don't have any interest in how much a business pays the IRS, but if you're going to force customers in 2022 to be participants in your "cash only" practice, at least share some of the savings with us for the trouble. But if your going to raise your prices like 30% in 2-3 years, then at least join the modern era and let customers pay with debit card or Apple Pay. Nice people working there, and no doubt the cost of product, electricity, and wages have gone up. But the price raises started before the current period of inflation, and have been greater percentage increases than similar businesses, IMO. It's a bummer that Yogurt Mill is no longer a thing for our family. read more

I associate El Cajon with this place. They have the iconic leaning tower and sell none other but delicious frozen yogurt. Their pricing and portions can't be beat (especially if you print out a couple beforehand!). We come here more often then I'd like to admit. They have daily flavors, you can always check to see what they have going that day on Facebook. I love it when they have their minty flavors!! read more

Blast from the past! In Los Angeles, where I'm originally from, there was a yogurt shop JUST like yogurt mill that closed down about 20 years ago. NOTHING beat the price, the atmosphere or the FLAVOR! Then, my sister and I find Yogurt Mill and actually became a bit choked up! It looked exactly like the old place we used to go to! We walked inside and there we were, 20 years ago, at the yogurt spot with our grandma! The peanut butter was our family favorite and it's EXACTLY the way we remembered! Q U A L I T Y! Let me yell it for the people at the back-- ITS SO YUMMY! Yogurt mill is delicious. When you go, Keep it simple & bring cash (they're cash only). I say take it to go, it could get pretty cramped in there. That's always a great sign however on how good an establishment is! BUSY=QUALITY and Yogurt Mill is serious quality! One of my friends was raving about this place and I went over to her house and last minute we decided to go... It was super super hot outside but upon walking in there was air conditioning in there. THANK GOD lol I didn't know it was cash only but I resolve the issue and was able to enjoy the yogurt... It was definitely way cheaper than other yogurt places and it was absolutely good. Like I always say I'm super picky so I definitely enjoyed it!!! read more

I have been a major fan of this place since childhood. As an El Cajon native, I have always told people from out of town that this is the one spot they have to go before they leave town. I love Yogurt Mill. That being said, I was really disappointed when I went back this week to find that they have changed nothing in their business to protect their customers during this pandemic. No employee masks, no sneeze guards, no distancing guidelines in or out of the building. In fact they are famous for signs on the doors to keep them closed because of the air conditioning inside. Yet they have no concern over virus transmission at their store. Every other food supply business has adopted methods and changes to protect the food product from contamination of their employees. Yogurt Mill has not. Zero concern. Zero protection. Sadly, truly, I cannot go back and will no longer recommend this place to anyone until the Owner does something to change these things. read more

Enough with this archaic coupon business. This place requires you to print out a coupon in order to pay a normal price for ice cream. You didn't find an inkjet printer to print the valpak coupon, sorry, pay double sir. As an additional treat, you can enjoy the smell of rotting spoiled meat in the dumpster from the butcher shop next door while you wait in line outside for 25 minutes. To top it off, they only take cash...Why would a business only take cash? Hmmmm, go figure. read more

This review is based on January 2018: My husband lived in East County for a bit and he loved eating frozen yogurt here. I was shocked because he prefers authentic ice cream over frozen yogurt so I knew this was going to good! In total I think we had visit here at least two to three times. We are trying to make a tradition to visit every summer. If I am not mistaken every time we visit whether it is in the day or evening there has always been a line out the door. We usually order the second from the largest size and I think we can choose up to four flavors. Of course we order topping (they are an up charge) to complete our experience. We love coming here and as the weather gets warmer we look forward to going back! read more

I have been going to the yogurt mill since I've been a teen, the place always have good service, in great treats to cool off, the owner will also help out, and make them environment happy and joyous, I went today 3/26/22, and it seems like the joy and happiness went out the building, it seems like the teens don't listen to the customer, and they want to rush you in and out, not my favorite moment after yogurt meal today. read more

Cute little FROYO spot. It's CASH ONLY so don't forget your money. It's a bit of a tight space so you might need to take your FROYO to go. Flavors are good, toppings are a little limited. The kids love it. Great place for a cool treat! read more

The hype you see about this place is real; real good yogurt! Prior to trying this place, I thought people were just making a big deal about it, but , it turns out to be very tasty! The flavors feel natural, the menu is pretty simple and the iconic tower - shaped building, makes it feel legit. I usually go for tart, peach, and mango flavor. However, their strawberry and peanut butter flavors are really good too. Like most yogurt places, you can ask to sample any of their flavors. The sizing of the cups are pretty big. I usually get their child size and end up getting some yogurt left over. Also, if you don't finish it right away and want to keep in the freezer, you can totally do it and it will stay nice as fresh for about 3 days. Sam helped us last time I was there. Her customer service skills are incredible! She's friendly, patient ( I asked to try at least 3 different flavors) and makes the experience more pleasant. I will definitely be coming back ! I hope, as soon as next week! read more

Stopped by here today because the flavors were too good to pass up. Peanut butter cup with salted caramel and brownie bites were my choice of frozen yogurt today and I didn't regret it at all. The workers here are a hit or miss, but Tom was beyond great today. He was not annoyed one bit with the samples we asked for and had a smile on his face the whole time. I wish this place would start accepting coupons on phones and credit cards, that's my only complaint! read more

An east county classic, this establishment is worthy of your business. Cash only. There's usually a line. Serving sizes are huge!!!! Flavours change daily. Toppings are placed in two levels. Better price and better quality than any of your chain frozen yogurt shops. read more

This place is a five star joint....after you've maybe smoked one.... The take away:......... CASH ONLY Get a buy one get one free coupons next door, or use any unexpired printed bogo yogurt coupons. For friendliness of staff and value offered... Large yogurts... Toppings... Flavorful...all swirled into one....this place is a five.... But personally, I don't want to feel like I'm gonna be shanked in the parking lot by the panhandlers..... It's not The Yogurt Mills fault the surrounding area has really gone down hill, but personally, I think this was my last time. Maybe they should hire a security guard. If it's the latter, then the Yogurt Mill is the place for you. They have so many different flavors, with high quality tasting yogurt. There isn't another place like it. The building occupied by the mill used to be the leaning tower of pizza, but soon after, it took on a new identity. The Yogurt Mill! For years now, it has been running, satisfying every visitor. The tall tower can be seen from quite a ways away, attracting people to their location. The line of people waiting for yogurt curves out around the building. The service is great, bringing you from the back of the long line to the front in only a matter of minutes. All the people waiting don't slow them down a bit. It is definitely worth the wait and there is no such thing as one visit. The delectable yogurt brings you in for more. For the Mill, everyday is a busy one, though some more than others. Their wide variety of flavors allows you to come back for a whole new experience. While always having vanilla, chocolate, and strawberry, they have extra flavors, different days of the week. Peach, coconut, peanut butter, cinnamon roll, you name it they have it. My favorites are Peanut Butter, Mint Chocolate Chip, Strawberry, and Cookies n' Cream. If you are indecisive and you want more than one flavor, no problem, they can get you more than one. The servings come in nice amounts only costing $4.50 for a junior. The junior's big enough that most of the time I can't finish it in one sitting. There is also a small, medium, large, and extra large. It's perfect to share even if you both don't want the same flavor. One side can be one flavor and the other a different kind. It gets even better when you go online and print out some coupons. There is a buy one get one free, making it so the junior is really only $2.25. Doesn't matter what time of the year it is, they always have those coupons online. What place has the best frozen yogurt? The Yogurt Mill! They have the best quality yogurt with a huge selection of flavors. It will defiantly satisfy you're sweet tooth, and for only $2.25. The Yogurt Mill likes you to be able to taste all of there great flavors so they have daily flavors each week so you try all of them. When going to the Yogurt Mill plan on being satisfied because they never disappoint. Open seven days a week the Yogurt Mill will be ready for you any day you want frozen yogurt. They also try to keep the price low well as low as you can go with yogurt that good. If you haven't been to the Yogurt Mill than you haven't experienced great frozen yogurt yet. The Yogurt Mill has five different sizes depending on how much you want to pay; they also offer lots of coupons for you. With all of their sizes you can decide if you want a lot of yogurt or if you want just a little. You can also get your frozen yogurt in a cone if you would like to. One thing that you need to remember is that you need cash if you don't have cash than you can't get any yogurt which kind of sucks but it's worth it. When going to the Yogurt Mill you have a wide range of options of flavors to choose from and also toppings you can have on your yogurt. They try to keep the favorites which are usually Strawberry, Vanilla, and Chocolate but everyday the have flavors of the day and have up to ten flavors a day. Also in your cup you can have up to four flavors so you can get all of your favorites. But if that's not enough for you they 40 different toppings for you to put on your frozen yogurt but they might cost a little extra not too much though. With all of the things the Yogurt Mill offers there's no way you can't go they might have some long lines every once and awhile but its worth it. after my many great experiences at yogurtland in pacific beach (best yogurt place in the world!), i decided to try this "tower of pisa" as i was in el cajon and i was craving for some delicious yogurt. i have always seen a huge line (now i know it is because there is only space for two people in the store!) wow! what a disappointment this was! this is as bad as you can go! you can't get anything yourself (you can't mix 10 different yogurt flavors like at yogurtland) and you can have maximum... 2 toppings (and they suck!). I can get 30 toppings or more at yogurtland (nuts, fruits, etc)! this is ridiculous! This is a lot of yogurt and almost no toppings! the kid size is huge! why did they call that a kid size. you just get full of yogurt. better i get a frozen yogurt from Dreyers at the food 4 less some block down on Broadway. it is much cheaper. i can even buy more toppings and get all that for cheaper. this place is a real rip off! we were 4 and we ended up paying so much more than we do at yogurtland and we were all so pissed off! We felt like we had thrown our money in the trash! please avoid this place if you care about your wallet and your taste buds! the new small yogurt place in the same center as the Target down on Broadway is so much better (but still very far from the yogurtland in PB)! read more

I've been tcomingnto the yogurt mill since I was a teenager... So for about 20 years now. They really do have THE BEST yogurt. Everyone in town knows it, which is why there is always a long line. The ONLY thing they can IMPROVE ON: there is no reason in the world why they shouldn't accept credit or debit cards. The Square app and swipers are free and only charge a small percentage fee when used. It's highly INCONVENIENT for a culture that rarely carries cash anymore. I had to go next door to the ATM, where I paid more in fees to take cash out than the yogurt I was purchasing actually cost, LOL! One must really plan ahead of they visit this El Cajon staple. read more

I have been coming to this place for years and LOVE it. The yogurt selections are always great and what other fro-yo location allows the "dropped" yogurt option (you pay for the price of the smaller cup but receive the portion of the larger one?! Can't complain about that..... Both my kids went to high school near by and we spent many nights we spent after sports games, homecomings, banquets, and tutoring sessions (my way of keeping them motivated) here. What I do care about is that we walked in just in time to see one employee jokingly cough over the toppings. I am trapped in San Jose where no one makes the Tart Alta Dena Strawberry Yogurt I have been coming there since I was a little girl and never drive down to San Diego without waiting in a line of 15-30 people on average at any time.
