We went in the evening and had to wait about 30 minutes. They serve all kind of sizes and we got the "Child" size which was still so much yogurt. I brought it home and was my dessert for the next few days after. While they do have staple flavors, check their Instagram as they also have rotating flavors. The Yogurt is delicious, the 1 hour wait wasn't even the problem. It was the staff member that took 15-20 minutes to make our two child orders once we finally got to the front because he was talking non stop with the other members. I really wanted to like Yogurt Mill, but my experience left me feeling pretty... froyo-zen. The line was about an hour long. Yes, AN HOUR. For frozen yogurt. Naturally, my expectations were sky high by the time we reached the front. Unfortunately, the yogurt didn't quite live up to the hype. The strawberry tasted very artificial, and the banana cream pie flavor was overly sweet and a bit fake tasting. The chocolate, peanut butter, and vanilla (aka the most basic flavors on the menu), were the only ones that felt somewhat balanced and not like a full sugar rush. They were decent when mixed with cookie dough, which honestly did a lot of the heavy lifting. The topping situation was also pretty slim. It looked like they had run out of quite a few things by the time we got there. I asked for peanut butter cups and somehow ended up with malt balls instead?!?! And the malt balls tasted like they had been sitting around longer than the century we spent waiting in line. Between the long wait, missing toppings, and mostly artificial tasting flavors, I'm honestly a little confused about the hype. Is it the cute building? The nostalgia? The line itself creating FOMO? My visit to San Diego had to include a visit to Yogurt Mill since I heard it was the best frozen yogurt in town. Before we went, we printed the BOGO coupon because they will only take the coupon if it's paper. Make sure to also bring cash because they are cash only. The BOGO coupon was for a child's size which they drop into a larger cup and fill up with more yogurt. You can mix and match different flavors in one cup and without toppings it is around $8 for 2 yogurts with the coupon, and we added one topping to one of the yogurts which came out to $11. So with $11 we got 2 yogurts with 2 flavors each and one topping on one of them and we shared it between 4 people because it was soooo much yogurt and such a good deal. The 4 of us weren't even able to finish it all. They have rotating flavors which they post on their Instagram daily before they open so make sure to check out the flavors before you go! I got the New York Cheesecake with cookie dough bites. The yogurt was okay but the topping was amazing! My friends got the pomegranate raspberry and the chocolate obsession which were also very yummy and good choices. We went on a Sunday afternoon, it was not too crowded and we were served quickly. This place had a long line on a Saturday night when I went. Apparently it is an East County classic. I had never heard of it. So many people came out with huge cups of ice cream. I was intrigued. I was looking for a place that was comparable to my favorite yogurt place. It is unfortunately in the Bay Area, but this place is quite comparable!
