Overall the dim sum tastes good, not great. I do recommend the shrimp har gow and shrimp rice noodle. The pork siu mai, stuffed beancurd, and chicken feet were only alright in taste. The lotus leaf rice was a little too greasy and had a lot of pieces of fat. The egg tart crust was undercooked and the egg custard itself didn't taste good. The positives: - CHEAP, CHEAP, CHEAP! So, we ventured up to San Gabriel store and it was open and in business.  It was nice to be able to walk in and order.  The line was short and they had exactly what I needed for my 94 mother, Chicken feet!  The rest was the norm but this time the baked bao was very meaty and tasty. The lady stated that they have been affected by the society medical problems.  This store looks better with the Kitchen separate and the hot table in a better setup.  The eating area is bigger but not used now. They also sell congee/porridge for $3.39 (again, a giant bowl). They also have dim sum! (But this shouldn't be a surprise, because really, how can you "yum cha" without dim sum?) Their gai bao (chicken buns) were 99 cents for 3 of em', but they were buy 1 get 1 free, so we essentially paid ~$0.15 for each one. They were amazing. Their dan tat (egg tarts) were great as well, as were the buet zhai goh (yeah, I can't help you there; it's a dessert). They also sell leung cha for pretty cheap. Most Shun Fat Markets have this dim sum place attached somewhere adjacent and their called the same in Chinese, but not in English. The choices were very limited and did not know the names of the ones that they did have available, so I just pointed to a few. In all the times I've been fighting people at the SG Superstore while shopping for the last decade, how did I never walk to this corner? Why did my dad not tell me he'd been getting his shrimp rice noodle from here? I always assumed they were left over from a dim sum place he usually goes to. Located inside the SG Superstore to the left (inside, from the main entrance on San Gabriel Blvd) amongst the cheapest dim sum - and the line is fast - granted, sometimes people still try to cut in line and claim to not speak English but since the workers do speak English, it's okay. Shrimp Har Gow, BBQ Pork Rice Noodle, Shrimp Rice Noodle are my favorites. I don't think they have a restaurant rating and it doesn't necessarily look like a "clean" place - but you can get enough food to feed you for lunch and dinner - for $7. These were fairly large and came out slightly warm (not really fresh) ...but I heated them up the next day and they were chewy, moist and delish! -Red Bean Rice Cake (3 to an order) -- $1.49 Lots of red bean paste!! The rice cake itself isn't as thin and chewy as the ones I get in Yong Kee (fav dim sum in SF) ..but still good. -Sticky Rice Wrapped Chicken (3 to an order) -- $1.49 I love how moist it still stays even a few days after a meal. Again, very flavorful and decent amount of meat! So I'm looking through their menu... They have dim sum items from $0.99 - $1.50. Then they have congee for $3.39..and rice/noodle dishes for $3.59. If you want larger items.. they have even more stuff!!! Hanin chicken rice for $4.39, roasted duck for $4.39... honey glazed pork, lemon grass chicken... etc etc... Beverages are about $0.99 each.. The best part is that instead of waiting for a dim sum cart to come to me... This review is NOT based on their dim sum. But yes, I looked at the menu and the dim sum is VERY cheap. Came here for lunch and had the hainan chicken ($4.39). Dude, it was freaking good. I didn't like the fact that the butcher was checking out my gf's butt, but the food was good. Located inside of the San Gabriel superstore. read more
