The pork xiaolongbao was amazing (5/5). I'd come back just for this. Both the skin and the filling tasted light and aromatic. You know how some places make the dough too thick and the top tastes like dry play-doh? Not this place! Get their matcha/cheese dessert xiaolongbaos if you're looking for something sweet. A big plus. None of the other pork dishes had that strong pork smell. Sounds like a low bar, but a lot of these newer dim sum/xiaolongbao spots in 626 don't seem to prep the pork properly. This location used to be a revolving sushi place. The inside is modern looking. Got there an hour after it opened on a Friday and there was only one party ahead of us but it was still a wait. There's no real room to wait indoors too which kinda sucks cause it's so hot now. We got a few dishes to try: - Xiao Long Bao - the signature one was actually pretty good. It's probably the best next to Ding Tai Fung. The wrapping isn't as thin but it's pretty darn close, at least the best dupe I've had and I've tried all those places ppl hype about. It is kinda pricey though - 6 for $10 - Chicken Xiao Long Bao - husband was excited to get these since he doesn't eat pork and so he misses out a lot so it was nice there was a chicken option. However, he didn't like the filling. He said it wasn't excited ground and it just was a weird texture. - Three delight steamed dumplings - it was just chives, shrimp and pork. Counting chives as a delight third ingredient seemed kinda scammy but whatevers. It tasted fine. Kinda like our homemade dumplings. So it was good but just not worth the price. - Pan fried pork dumplings - good and a great lattice but it wasn't juicy so I prefer the ones at Mandarin Noodle Deli - Chicken fried noodles - they're udon noodles with a good amount of chicken and bok choy. There was some onion and green onions in there as well. It was good but kinda salty. Needed to add vinegar for a little more balance. - Scallion pancakes - hard pass. Super thin and oily. They were crispy but you're literally just eating sheets of oil and it felt like that. I couldn't even finish one piece. - Chocolate Strawberry Dumplings - I normally don't like the sweet dumplings but these were pretty good. Hazelnut chocolate filling and a fresh strawberry piece. The strawberry was really hot so be careful. Service was fairly quick once we got seated. My water cup was dirty though so that was a con. Also, when I paid, the waitress left the machine tethered around her body so it was awkward to enter the trip and sign when it's still attached to someone. The biggest con though was when we finished and paid and were just finishing up our waters, a waitress came by and pretty much asked us to leave cause there were people waiting. Like seriously, we literally just paid. We weren't sitting there for even 5 minutes after we paid. I think that's really in poor taste. We've worked in service and you usually would tactful ask parties if they needed anything else so people get the hint, not just ask them to leave. I had such a lovely time at Yum Long Dumpling. To be fair, there were a couple of hiccups with service.. our server forgot a few things, took a little while to bring some items, and our dessert was accidentally sent out right away. We asked for it to be re-steamed and it ended up taking about 20 minutes. But they were busy and still fairly new, so we let it slide. I'm also a server so I get it... atleast the food is good!! The food was the star of the show. Everything tasted fresh and flavorful, and I thought it was noticeably cheaper than Din Tai Fung while delivering great taste. My favorites were the Snow Crab dumplings, the Clay Pot Cabbage, and the Egg Yolk Shrimp those were absolutely amazing. The Dan Dan noodles were good, but if you're trying to narrow down your order, they're probably skippable. I also wasn't a fan of the dessert sampler. And if you order the beef rolls, eat them quickly while they're hot.. they're definitely best fresh... not cold like when I had them (flavor there coldness not) Overall, it was a really enjoyable experience, and I'd happily come back to try more of the menu. There have been quite a few new restaurants opening up near me. Yum Long seemed to have flavors reminiscent of Din Tai Fung, as others have suggested. As Din Tai Fung is quite popular, I decided to come to Yum Long to give the restaurant a try. My family and I came as soon as the restaurant opened, which was around 11 AM. We were the first customers and we were seated quite quickly. The staff are super attentive, nice, and answer questions confidently. The menu is medium sized but there are enough items on the menu to get a variety. We ended up sharing pork chop fried rice, seafood noodles, and pan fried dumplings. The pan fried dumplings were solid. Not the best I've had in SGV, but the soup was there and the dumplings were made fresh. The seafood noodle soup had a very clear broth that was not too strong or overpowering. There was a solid amount of seafood. The pork chops in the pork chop rice were crispy, but the pork was a bit dry. The fried rice was solid but I wish it had a bit more wok hei. This was my fifth visit since they opened, and they continue to impress every time. It can get busy on weekends, so be prepared for a wait, but it's absolutely worth it. The Wasabi XLB is my favorite dish, and the Special House Fried Rice is always delicious. A special thank you to Kevin and Emma for their outstanding hospitality. I'm always interested in trying these "DTF dupes", and actually wound up liking the food here more than I thought I would. We arrived around 6pm and even though it said there was a waitlist (Yelp tablet) and a paper saying 25 min, the wait was only ~5 min at the time. We were seated but didn't get a server for a bit, which gave us time to figure out what we wanted to try from their sizable menu. Wound up ordering a few of the same items we'd usually get at DTF to see how it compares--pork chop fried rice, two longs of XLB, sweet & sour ribs, and a pan-fried cabbage and pork dumpling. The most noticeable difference is the food is seasoned much more heavily (not salty) than DTF, with strong spices etc. The rice, XLB, and dumplings are all quite delicious, while the pork chop and ribs aren't really my thing. The pork & shrimp was better than the pork XLB, and the dumplings had an interesting flavor that reminded me of lapcheong. The wok items are huge, was mildly shocked by the size of the pork chop rice when it came out. Restaurant is fairly small so if you go at peak times, definitely expect a real wait. My wife found out about this restaurant only a week ago on social media, and the main draw was that it's supposed to similar quality to DTF (Din Tai Fung), but priced cheaper. We ordered a variety of dishes, which obviously included their Xiao Long Bao (juicy pork dumpling), and was truly great. The skin was very thin and the soup inside the dumpling was very hearty. The taste of pork was not overpowering, either. My other favorite item we ordered was the scallion pancake. The outside was perfectly crispy and each bite was pure deliciousness with great green onion flavor. The service we received was top notch as well. Our waitress was always very attentive to our requests and regularly would check on our table. The interior decor was modern and bright, which is also quite the contrast with DTF, which each location tends to be a bit darker inside. Overall, our party of 4 paid an an average of about $25/pp, which is a great deal for the quality of food we received. Went here Saturday at 1:45pm and still had to wait over 1 hr to be seated. Not worth the wait and here's why: We ordered garlic bok choy, dan dan noodles, salt and pepper fish filet, pork xiao long bao, beef roll, and 3 delight dumplings. Forgot to take pics of dumplings, xlb, and beef roll. Bok choy tasted pretty basic, expensive for what it is since the green bok choy is usually cheaper at supermarkets Dan dan noodles, small portions and pretty dang salty. Only thing I liked was the noodle texture. Fish filet was not bad, batter is pretty good and had good flavor Beef roll, disappointing due to small portions and flavor did not have wow factor. I guess only thing good about it was that it wasn't very greasy Dumplings were not bad, no notes here Xlb is good, the skin is slightly chewy and broth is clear and savory. Portions are small. Would I come back? Maybe, but only if there was no wait. I don't think the food quality justified the long wait or the prices. Nothing was bad, but aside from the xlb and fish filet, most dishes felt pretty average and portions were smaller than expected. Probably wouldn't wait over an hour for this again. Thank you to Yelp for introducing me to this place and letting me sample the food. They ran out of the Thai tea and lemon peach green tea, so I wasn't able to try them. Overall, this place was great! I would definitely come back. It's reasonably priced and tasted good. The restaurant is clean and I enjoyed the decorations/style. The staff were sweet, but they kept forgetting things. They forgot to bring out our bowl of rice, so we didn't get it until we were halfway through our meal. Additionally, everyone got their xiao long bao before we did...even tables that were seated well after us. When we asked about it, they had clearly forgotten our order or something had gone wrong on their end. The check also needed approval, which took a little while, but I could tell the server felt really bad since this was the third issue they had run into with our table. Dan Dan Noodles ($10.99) - Slippery, thin noodles with a sauce that has a bit of spice. Not a lot of meat, but it came out quickly. Contains peanuts. I would get this again!! BBQ Pork Buns ($5.99) - Came out super hot. The buns were fluffy, and the filling was tasty. You can really taste the sweetness and BBQ flavor. Sweet and Sour Pork ($14.99) - Crispy and perfectly seasoned. It's not overly sweet and has a great sauce-to-meat ratio. Also came out piping hot. Dessert Sampler ($12.99): I'm definitely biased since I don't enjoy sweet xiao long bao. The taro xiao long bao was the best one out of the sampler. It was sweet and pasty with a slightly grainy texture. The flavor wasn't overbearing, which I liked. On the other hand, I was not a fan of the cheese xiao long bao. Upon arrival, we put our name on the waitlist and it was about a 15-20 min wait for a large party. The ambiance is very nice, it's a modern and classy spot. The food was sublime. Delicious and filling. I was especially impressed with the dessert xiao long bao - they were not too sweet and the variety of flavors was unexpected. I was fond of the chocolate and strawberry. The pork fried rice was a good portion. Worth every cent. Not sure about the Dan Dan noodles - not much pork in it but it was tasty. The bathroom wasn't being monitored so understandably, there was no available toilet paper. This is part of the growing pains that come with opening a brand new restaurant so I am certain that with time, checking on the ladies' room will become part of their natural rhythm. I had a wonderful experience here, however, checking in was hectic. The kiosk is positioned right by the door with very little room. Perhaps management can create a system that would make navigating this less stressful and more efficient. All in all, this is one of those restaurants we will bookmark for future visits. TikTok brought me here once again, and it definitely blew up this restaurant! We stopped by on a Sunday at around 5 and it was packed (waited around 20-25 min). Aside from the wait, everything else was speedy! I swear the first dish came out within a minute of ordering. Everything we got was pretty good but it wasn't as amazing as I hoped. The string beans were a little limp (zero crunch at all); the pork chop rice was on the salty side; the cucumber salad was too sweet; and the matcha xlb were too gooey in consistency (we were hoping for two different textures within the xlb). I came here with my partner for a Yelp Elite event, so got to try a nice spread of different menu items. If you're looking for a new spot with great food, friendly service, and a beautiful interior, add this one to your list. The highlight for me was definitely the variety. While some of the portions are a bit small, the price point is pretty good when compared to other options like Good Alley. It's the perfect excuse to order the whole menu and try a little bit of everything. ​Pork and napa cabbage xia long bao (8/10): clean tasting soup dumpling with solid flavor. Portion is a bit small, but I might also be spoiled from making frozen ones at home. ​Steamed pork dumplings (7/10): they're not bad, they're basically exactly what you're expecting. Wrapper was thicker than others I've seen, but I'm into that. ​Sweet and sour pork ribs (9/10): so delicious and tender, falls right off the bone. The Dan Dan noodles were well-balanced and not overly dominated by peanut flavor, which I enjoyed. One of my favorite dishes was the wagyu beef fried rice. As a big Din Tai Fung fan, it was difficult not to compare certain dishes, but I can wholeheartedly say that this place is just as good, if not better. The pork XLB, the wontons, the chicken- everything was so, so good! The only item I'd probably pass on next time is the cucumber salad. The pieces were cut too large for my liking, and the sauce wasn't as savory as I typically prefer. However, everything else was a solid 10/10. As with any restaurant that serves great food, expect a wait, especially on weekends. The space itself is quite small, but the friendly service does a good job of keeping things moving along. Overall we had a great experience. Although we were unable to make a reservation unless we were at least a party of 7 or more, we had to go in person to line up and wait. We arrived at 5:30 pm on a Friday and were still told it would be about a 40 min wait but it actually ended up being over an hour wait. I recommend to come earlier than 5:30 pm to beat the crowd. The menu is similar to all of the other dumpling houses. But what I love is that the portions are good to share family style and prices are very affordable. We ordered 9 dishes and the bill only came out to less than $130. We were super stuffed and even had left overs. Their signature dishes are the Pork Xiao Long Bao, shredded chicken with black truffle, pan-fried pork and napa cabbage, dry friend green beans w/ minced beef, and the chili oil wontons. The green online pancake and the cucumber refresh salad should be skipped. Cucumber dish was the most disappointing because all it was were stacked up cucumbers with soy sauce paste over it! Taste is ok, a bit dry. Just get the regular one. Spring roll - 9/10. Super crispy on the outside and super moist and juicy on the inside. Scallion pancake - 7/10. Its crispy. Lack Scallion flavor. For a restaurant that is still in their soft opening, I have high hopes for the future of Yum Long! My friends and I got there on a Sunday afternoon and only waited 25 minutes. They definitely have had longer lines, so this was a relief. After the afternoon wave, I saw that the wait could get as long as 45 minutes. Fortunately, they are located in a plaza where there are other dessert and drink options while waiting. For foods, we tried everything that our server Dominique recommended. She was warm, welcoming, and went above and beyond for us. Our water pitcher was always full and plates were cleared in a timely manner. We had the xiao long bao (pork) the green beans, cucumber salad, dan dan noodles, beef rolls, beef braised noodle soup, and the house special fried rice. The beef braised noodle soup was the winner for us. I could order just their soup and I would have been happy. I didn't taste too much oiliness in their soup! I wish the cucumbers were cut a tad bit smaller to make it easier to eat. The beef wrappers on the rolls were falling apart slightly so that could be improved but the flavors were all there. I highly recommend opting in for their dessert sampler that lets you try their signature xiao long bao flavors: matcha, taro, chocolate with banana, cheese (yes, cheese), and two of their chocolate with strawberry. The dessert sampler is a great way to see which flavors you would like more of in the future. When I found out a new XLB place opened at Atlantic Times Square, I knew I had to go! I went on a whim and on a Wednesday afternoon, so there was no wait at all which was great since we were trying to catch a movie. The overall ambience of the place is actually quite beautiful and elegant! There is an electric kiosk where you can place to go orders or put your name down on a waitlist. Since we went in the afternoon, the sun was beaming, pretty strong, and for those facing the windows, it was a little bit tough for them to see other than that, it was really well put together in terms of design. It is definitely better than DTF's and I still think about it! Definitely recommend this Pork and shrimp XLB - this is a pretty solid dish! And I would definitely get it again! A5 Wagyu, beef fried rice - one of the more expensive fried rice options and while I don't think that it met my expectations per se, it was still good... Pro tip: use the sauce from the cucumber salad on top of this rice and it elevates it to a whole other level!! Without a doubt, will come back and try other dishes! Located in Atlantic Time Square. It took over the business that used to be hot pot joint. We were seated immediately on a Thursday night. It wasn't too busy but there were some occupied tables. Decor is very modern. Clean and sleek! Waiters and waitress were pretty attentive since the restaurant is also not that big. It was our first time so I appreciate that the waitress recommended us some dishes to try. We eventually got the spare ribs, Shanghai rice cakes, pork xiao long bao, and Dan Dan mian. Everything came out fairly quickly! The Dan Dan mian came first which this one was pretty good! It's a bit salty, but it did taste heavy on the Hoi sin. The xiao long bao was pretty good as it was full of juice! It's also technically cheaper than many places I've seen, so I would say this one was well worth it. The spare ribs were also pretty salty, very dark in flavor. The Shanghai rice cakes was kinda bland, but also a little salty. Everything still tasted pretty good though! Overall, I would say a lot of the dishes were quite salty. All were pretty good, but kinda salty. I liked the Dan Dan noodles or xlb the best and the Shanghai rice cake the least. read more

came here on a Saturday around 5pm and was seated right away. The dinner rush came soon after. Our food came out fast and was fresh. I really liked the wasabi xlb, it was super different and juicy. All of the other dishes were great too! I would love to come back and try the other dry noodles because the zhajiang noodles were delicious. The chili oil they have on the side has a nice kick! The service was incredibly fast, and the staff was so friendly and attentive. Every dish we ordered was delicious, but the xiao long bao were definitely the star of the meal--outstanding! Went on a Sunday night, wait was relatively 30 minutes not too long. The restaurant is small with limited seating but it has a nice modern atmosphere and the staff were very friendly and attentive throughout the meal. I was disappointed, the food didn't live up to the reviews I was reading prior on going I was really excited to try this new spot but food was but I still prefer DTF or paradise dynasty overall. Food was average overall, I think improvements can be made. The spicy wontons were a bit too rich the creamy sauce possible sesame or peanut sauce was way too overpowering. The soup dumplings had a very thin skin which I liked but several broke apart easily, taste wise thought the xiao long baos were the only dish I liked here. The Dan Dan noodles were flavorful but on the salty side and I wish there had been a bit more noodles for the amount of sauce. Overall the ambiance and serve were the highlights. The food didn't quite wow me, so I'd say I'm 50/59 on whether I'd return. read more

I tried the signature XLBs, Dan Dan noodles, and the dessert sampler. The XLBs were quite good--the skins were definitely on the thinner side. While they aren't the thinnest I've ever had, they are a solid execution and I'd definitely order them again. The Dan Dan Mian was also tasty, and the service was attentive throughout the meal. I also tried the dessert sampler to see what the hype was about. While dessert dumplings aren't personally my thing, my nephews absolutely love them. Excellent experience! And so close to home that we could walk here (but no - too hot outside!). We ordered the typical fare; xiao long bar pork/shrimp, pan fried pork dumplings, Dan Dan noodles w/minced pork and cucumber refresh salad.
