Another awesome find! So happy we got there right before the dinner rush! Food was amazing! XLB wrapper was nice and thin and the flavors of the soup and the filling were perfect! We got the cucumbers, shredded chicken with black truffle (this was good but we were saying we could not taste the black truffle even if you see a lot of it mixed in), cold sesame noodles with shredded chicken- a MUST!! This was my favorite dish of the night aside from the XLB- we ordered their signature and the pork and shrimp soup dumplings and devoured everything easily! I could totally finish an order myself! Truly delicious! We also got the pork chop fried rice- pork was flavorful but a little tough- din tai fung makes it just a tad better with the ultra tender pork. Rice was very good however. The salt and pepper fish fillet was awesome too! Dip the fish in the vinegar and ginger sauce for added tang!! So good! Their green beans with minced meat was so so good too! The chocolate and banana dumplings were a nice finish. Will definitely try their dessert sampler next time. Overall, our dishes were on point with flavor. Serving size was great- bigger portions compared to Din Tai Fung and the price was definitely more affordable. Restaurant was beautiful, clean and the servers were great! Another place to add to our rotation for sure!

Usually very busy! This popular Xiao Long Bao spot has a nice menu including appetizers and noodles and alcoholic drinks in addition to a variety of dumplings. We joined the Long Time Friends club and got a free order of Signature XLB which tasted amazing - very delicate skin and a flavorful soup inside. The Beef Wrap Pancake is good but the beef is cold inside. Would definitely come back and try some other menu items

SERVICE: I want to start off saying that we love Juhee. She is the best! So attentive, so friendly, and truly gives great suggestions and makes sure you have everything you need. Water is already waiting for you to start with. Food came out fast and hot. -------- AMBIENCE: The interior is gorgeous. The decor is classy and themed around xiao long bao with delicate browns and beiges that are both comforting and elegant. --------- FOOD: We were last here around the opening days and the menu has changed a bit since then. There are several new items added across the board and sadly they removed the sweet and sour pork ribs which I really wanted to try. Everything we've had here is delicious and we always look forward to the next visit. I wish I had more stomach for all of it as I want to try more things but we keep coming back to some favorites. Dan Dan noodles with minced pork - I love the flavor but I order it with sauce on the side to control the spice. The noodles are thin but wonderfully chewy Pan fried pork and napa dumplings - Juicy and crisped with that dumpling crust Xiao Long Bao - Had the pork ones and they're really good. Not as thin and saggy like another popular chain but not a go to for me here. There're so many other great dishes Hot and Sour Soup - Prepared a little light on the vinegar intentionally so you can adjust to your liking Sweet Corn Soup - Sweet with a lot of delicate flowered egg Braised pork belly - Such sticky tender good fatty pork. Love the side of quail eggs. Make sure to eat it with some rice Braised beef noodle soup - Easily one of the best. The amount of tender beef you get in that bowl is mind blowing. Note that sometimes the noodles can be a bit too al dente so just let them know if you want them otherwise Chocolate Strawberry Xiao long bao - I'm usually not into gimmicky desserts but this one really works. Im not personally so fond of the other flavors (had the sampler before) but the warm chocolate blended with the tart strawberry is so delicious! --------- For the owner/staff: This last time we came, the water had a weird taste. Maybe there was an issue with filtration or a funny taste in the ice.

Right when you walk in, there's a sign that tells you how long the wait time is. I appreciate that so it gives guests a head ups for waiting times. We went on a Friday weekday for lunch and it was still relatively crowded, so plan accordingly and get on the waitlist to avoid long waits, especially on weekends. The stand outs were the scallion oil noodles, crab XLB, and rice cakes! Staff were friendly and attentive plus the decor is impressive and made for a pleasant dining experience. There's a lot of competition in the area--but the food, atmosphere, and good service make it worthwhile to come back!

Perhaps I'm in the minority. I'll give it a 3 1/2 star rating. We tried a variety of dishes - Crab & Pork XLB, Pork & Napa Cabbage Dumplings, Chili Oil Wonton, Beef Wrap Pancake, Dan Dan Noodles, Dry Pot Cabbage & Crab Fried Rice. The highlight was the cabbage, prepared just right. I was disappointed about the fried rice which barely had any crab meat. The rest is likely as good as what you find at Dragon Noodle House. The pricing might appear affordable, but I find that the portion for some dishes is lighter than standard.

Yum Long located in the city of Monterey Park is one of those places that is pretty new and many have been talking about it. So one afternoon decided to pop on by and enjoy it with a party of five. The menu has plenty of options. We decided to order a bunch of different things and share them between all of us. We ordered a few different dumplings from steamed to fried. Had the beef noodle soup and the sweet and sour soup. These two were my favorite and it is bold in flavor. The beef was also very tender in the beef noodle soup. We ordered the dessert one which each color was a different flavor. Very unique and if you like a blend of sweetness this could be something to order after your food.

I have been waiting to try Yum Long and I was not disappointed. Seating is limited but adequate. Please plan appropriately and it's geared towards groups of 4 or less. Thankfully for our group of 6, even though the wait was a bit long, they have ice water at the door to help keep you hydrated. The service was really top notch and hats off to the staff to keep the all your needs met quickly and the empty plates cleared with hardly any notice. The food was really top notch and I expected the serving size to be on the smaller side but was pleasantly surprised to find that the servings are very generous. The braised beef noodles had perfectly chewy but tender noodles, very generous amount of beef, great broth, and even had the chopped preserved mustard greens which are not common. Cucumber salad had a great presentation and you know it's good because everyone gets it. Chicken salad (shredded chicken with scallion oil) was chef's kiss and definitely don't want to miss this. Garlic bok choy also a must. Just the right amount of garlic and bok choy very tender. Very fresh tasting. We also got the sampler dessert xiao long bao and they were all excellent.

Yummy and long experience! Dined in with family and had a good experience. The food was yummy but the wait was long! I can see why this place was so popular even during down times. It was busy yet not overwhelming during busy hours. Definitely will come by again but with reservations.

We arrived right at 11:00 AM when they opened the doors. The restaurant was beautiful, with a nice, relaxing atmosphere. Our waitress, JUHEE, was amazing! She was very friendly and took the time to explain how everything worked. They also offer a free membership program, where you can earn points every time you order, which is a great bonus. Within about five minutes, our food was served--super fast! Everything had amazing flavor and tasted delicious. We had a wonderful experience from beginning to end. We will definitely be coming back again! Highly recommended!

It was pretty packed when I came. PSA: waitlist on Yelp before you come so you don't have to wait as long! I ended up waiting about 20 mins since I didn't know about the Yelp waitlist. Once we sat down service was quick. It seems like they are still understaffed and everyone was working pretty hard to attend all the tables. The decor inside was so nice and modern. The atmosphere was def a 10/10 for me. Parking would be in the garage nearby. Food overall was not bad. Some standouts and some meh. Juicy pork dumplings 9/10: this was one of the stand outs to me! The dumpling was super juicy and the soup was really sweet and flavorful. I just wish the spoons they have were bigger so I can't hold all the soup the dumpling had! Lol. Cucumber 6/10: these were good and flavorful but they were not marinated long enough. The flavor didn't seep into the cucumber like how I would like it. However it was a pretty big portion. The cucumbers were also a bit too thick for me. I think it would've been better if they were thinner and more sauce could penetrate through. Lots of potential tho since the sauce was delish! Fried rice with pork chop 9/10: another stand out! The seasoning on the pork chop was so good and was tender. It had a good crisp as well. The rice was also not too salty so it worked well w the nicely seasoning pork chop. Hot and sour soup 7/10: super large portion. Not the best I've had but it was pretty solid. Beef rolls 7/10: also so much potential but it didn't come out warm I also think it could use a bit more sauce since I was kind of dry. But that may also just be my preference. The flavor was good though. Popcorn chicken 6/10: I feel like there was too much batter. The flavor was also okay nothing extraordinary. Overall food was not bad. Service was quick but it was busy. The restaurant interior was really pretty!

I've been wanting to try this restaurant for the longest time! I had heard so many great things from my friends--they all said the xiao long bao here is even better than Din Tai Fung's, the dishes are more flavorful, and the portions are generous for the price. I had to see if it lived up to the hype! My best friend and I came on a Monday evening, and the wait was only about 10 minutes for a table of two. We ordered the Signature Pork Xiao Long Bao, Dan Dan Noodles with Minced Pork, Pan-Fried Pork Buns, Beef Wrap Pancake, Chili Oil Wontons, and the Dessert Xiao Long Bao Sampler. Everything came out surprisingly fast, and the servers were incredibly friendly and attentive throughout our meal. Overall, we had a great dining experience, and I'll definitely be coming back with my family--they're huge fans of good pork soup dumplings! (:

Have been seeing multiple callouts before on Yumlong, calling out it's the affordable version of the well-known chain DTF (iykyk). The line looked overwhelming when we reached but fortunately it moved way faster than what's told to us on the estimated wait time. Like other typical Chinese resto, the space was pretty huge, able to accommodate big group size. We got their Wasabi Xiao Long Bao and Pan-Fried Pork and Shrimp dumplings. Both were luscious in their own way, serving different fillings and textures. The broth inside the XLB was rich and flavorful and the wasabi wasn't overpowering.

I really wanted to love this restaurant like all the other reviewers, but sadly it fell short! I can start with the positives which were the yelp waitlist, wait time for food to come out and the overall price. But now let's get down to the negatives, the service! We arrived and were seated right away since we were on the waitlist (positive). Yet it took 10 minutes to even get a menu!! After looking over the menu it took another 10-15 minutes to get someone to take our order. Once the order was placed the food did come out quickly, however some of their dishes like the fried rice and noodles were very bland. Once we were finished eating it literally took 20+ minutes to get the server's attention so that we could get the check. The food was good, the stars were the xia long bao & the spicy wontons. But the service was very poor! One more thing, I understand that a baby changing table isn't a must in all bathrooms but atleast maintain it clean. The floors were wet and muggy! I had to change my baby on my lap and try not to slip on the wet floor.

It's simple what they do well here, they make darn good food that tastes like homemade food (healthy and delicious), they price everything on the menu very reasonably (especially in these crazy times), and they treat all their customers like family/neighbors. Now that I've given you the why, let's move on to the good food. We usually order the beef noodle soup because of how tender the meat is and the soup & noodles are just perfect comfort food. And we always pair it with veggies (garlic cucumbers or water spinach) and pork dumplings are also amazing. Almost any of their braised meat rice/noodles are just really good (popular ones are braised pork rice or braised chicken leg rice). I used the compound name for the previous occupant because the name on the front entrance was Rice Hero, the back entrance said Hero's Kitchen and the digital menus said In Joy Lunch. I say the old restaurant was supplanted, not replaced, because the old restaurant sort of still hangs around, with a tiny sheet of paper with all 3 old names taped to the front door, and many old dishes still on the menu. Why the three names I don't know. In Joy Lunch had been a popup that operated during lunch hour serving Dongbei food in a space in YYDS Fried Strings in Rosemead. In Joy Lunch then struck out on their own last year with this space in Alhambra, adding the new names. The old Noodle King had been a Taiwanese noodle fixture before moving out in 2003. Since the new Noodle King also serves some of the Rice Hero/Hero's Kitchen/In Joy Lunch items, the same name seems to be just a coincidence. But despite holdover menu items the staff clearly say they're a new restaurant, with the Noodle King himself greeting you at the front entrance and the signage in both front and back now say Noodle King.

They have a new menu and we ordered the Minced Pork & Egg Rice. This is the non-gravy/sauce version like some local restaurants are starting to do. Break the runny egg yolk and mix everything together. It was pretty good. We also ordered the pan fried turnip cake which is crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. It's better than many dim sum restaurant versions. Also got their beef rice roll again. Their rice rolls are always a hit. Don't forget to order their HK lemon iced tea on the side. It pairs well with everything especially on a hot summer day. Good air conditioning. Lots of indoor seating. Great service. Highly recommend!

I've known of Steam Fresh for a while, but saw they recently started a brunch specials menu. So I decided to come here to try their brunch. I came with family. Steam Fresh is a small restaurant but the AC is good and the staff are super friendly. The restaurant is clean. I ended up getting two breakfast specials, a noodle soup with eggs and spam with a side of zhongzi, also got congee with turnip cake. We also ordered a steamed rice with Chinese sausage and chicken. Both breakfast specials came with iced lemon tea which was awesome. The steamed rice was quite tasty. My favorite dish was probably the zhongzi which is like a Chinese tamale. It was very well seasoned and the pork was flavorful. Overall solid brunch restaurant in San Gabriel Valley.

It's one of the default lunch spots for us when we can't decide where else to go and everyone likes their food. The one negative I can point out is the parking situation. It does fill up and sometimes difficult to find a parking spot during busy times. We just have to plan to have our lunches a little earlier and carpool from our office. And yes, the glass the teas come in are humongous.

They opened and closed the door for us which was a nice touch because it was busy inside. We ordered the pork ramen, pork buns, and pork soup dumplings. On to the food! Pork Ramen: 3/5 They give you a hefty amount of noodles and pork. They use a thin noodle here which pairs well with the broth. I truly do believe this was around average for ramen as the flavor in the broth was not as strong or savory. The highlight of the entire entree was definitely the pork, which was tender and flavorful. I probably would not order this again. Pork bun: 5/5 The pork buns were soft and fluffy, almost too good looking to eat. There was the right amount of soup and meat inside that made for a wonderful bite full of flavor. Not dry at all. Would recommend ordering this if you visit. Pork Dumplings: 5/5 The star of the show, the dumplings. They were soft and just like the buns, they had the right amount of soup + meat which made for a delicious bite every time. My toddler even ate some and she's usually super picky about meat. Overall, I'd definitely recommend coming here for the other noodles, the dumplings, and buns. You can skip on the ramen. I would 100% come back here to dine in. Quick note that parking gets full pretty quick here.

On a Saturday evening, my husband and I decided to grab dinner here. Because we parked in the shared parking lot, we entered the restaurant through the back. We were immediately greeted upon entering. After being seated and looking over the menu, we ended up ordering: Fish Tofu Congee, $10.50 prior to tax- This meal truly nourished my soul because I was really sick a few days before and hardly ate anything. The congee was nice and hot and thick, just the way I like it. Portion wise, this is perfect for 2- 3 people to share. But again because I had not eaten much for the last few days, I ended up eating most of it (lol, had not realized how hungry I was until I was eating this). My husband did enjoy this congee too. Beef Stew Noodle Soup, $14.95 prior to tax- My husband ordered this dish and thought the soup was flavorful and the noodles had a nice chew. I also liked this dish and thought it was delicious. My husband finished most of this dish. ------------------------------ (Total= $28.10 after tax, prior to tip) Service was friendly. And because the restaurant is on the small side, it was very easy to get a server's attention if you needed something. Although I did speak mostly Cantonese when I was here (I am actually trying to make myself speak Cantonese more), you can order in English. So you shouldn't have any trouble when you dine here. Overall, coming to The Congee was the right choice for dinner and so glad we did. I do see myself coming back here for another meal in the near future. Please note that there is a unisex restaurant towards the back of the restaurant, right next to the back entrance/ exit. The restroom itself had all the basic essentials (running water, toilet paper, paper towels and soap) but wasn't the cleanest. It was decent at best.

They lacked both the expected spiciness and the salty flavor. I believe I had anticipated a taste similar to crispy spicy salted pork chops. After just one bite, I decided to take the remainder home with the intention of making them crispier myself. The Shrimp Wonton Noodles in Soup certainly deserve a five-star rating. The dish featured four generously sized shrimp wontons, all amply filled with shrimp. I did sample the noodles, but unfortunately, I was too satiated to fully appreciate them. I am looking forward to returning for the Shrimp Wonton Noodles in Soup.

From the outside, you can't tell the inside has really good space with booths plus tables and chairs, but it does. They weren't super busy at the time... about 5 tables occupied. I was greeted right away by the one server who was working the entire floor. Interior was clean and well lit. Atmosphere was comfortable. Menu has a variety of options... boiled dumplings, pan-fried dumplings, steamed mini buns, stir-fried noodles, regular noodles, rolls & pancakes, side dishes, rice, soup, and beverages. They also have frozen food to-go (just two items... dumplings and dezhou chicken). I got one Steamed Mini Buns (aka Xiao Long Bao), one Stir-Fried Noodles with pork, one Lamb Noodles Soup (with hand torn noodles), and one Jasmine Green Tea with honey. Yes, this seems like a lot of food for one person. I'm not a stranger to bringing food home for another meal. *Steamed Mini Buns - juicy with flavorful pork filling, adequate skin thickness, good size buns *Stir-Fried Noodles with pork - best dish out of the 3, good balance between pork, veggies, and noodles, mild spice level was perfect, portions were reasonable for the price *Lamb Noodles Soup - great amount of lamb and noodles, lamb was tender, noodles were a tad mushy on the edge... they need to be firmer, soup was savory *Jasmine Green Tea with honey - good size cup, tea was a bit bitter, probably needs more honey Food came out steaming hot and timely. Staff and service were wonderful. Yan, the server, was patient and helpful. He did an amazing job working the entire floor by himself. Thank you Yan! Highly recommend this place for their pan-dried and soup noodles. I would come back for more pan-fried noodles and try their pan-fried dumplings. I have had ones in previous visits that the beef was chewy, not tender. You have a choice of regular noodles or hand torn noodles. Hand torn noodles are more filling since the noodles are much thicker than the regular noodles. They are both good. It is a matter of preference. The minced pork with noodles (aka Jia Jiang mien) is also good. For this visit, I did not order dumplings. But their dumplings are usually good. The service is adequate but don't expect good service.
