Good banh baos. But they literally ran out of almost all the other banh baos. I tried to get chicken banh baos. Sold out. I tried to asked for pork charsiu instead. Also sold out! Ended up getting only the combination ones. They need to start hiring more staffs for help as well. There was only 3 workers. One as a cashier and well. Make sure you bring cash as it is cash only. Thought I try this place since it had good reviews . I order 2 sandwiches : number 1, combo cold cuts and 1 number 6 ,bbq pork @ $5.95 each. The sandwich are on the small side for that price range as compared to other establishments. I have to say I do like their bread as it's soft and flaky. Both sandwiches though are on the sweet side , so I'm not 100% liking it. They give you cucumbers, marinated daikon/carrot, green onion strips , cilantro, and jalapeños. I also order a Che @$4.50 , added ice but their ice cubes a small so it's melts fast, luckily it's so sweet that it was actually just right after the ice melted. The bahn lot is not chewy at all so this was just ok, nothing to write home about. The line was out the door but that's because the place is so small. Can't hardly fit much people . The service was fast and the cashier who took my order was nice . The sandwiches are good but had better with better prices. If you use credit card is 3% charge . I always go to this place to get banh bao for me and my family. This is the goto spot if you want small snack size banh bao. I love getting the trung cuc one and that one is usually sold out first. Even if you are not fluent in Vietnamese, the menu has numbers to help with ordering. I recommend the Vietnamese coffee here as well. read more

Asian Plaza: Verry tight parking..and this place does not take credit cards so i am dinging them 2 stars for the parking and not taking credit cards...luckily there was a wells fargo nearby so i was able to withdraw cash but as a Chase customer i got charged $3.00 to pull out. So i ordered number 1 and number 3. My mom clearly loves it so i drove all the way to burbank to OC to check this place out. And the person (male) taking orders just didn't care how you would feel and just terrible terrible attitude. Went to buy sugarcane drink since they are running a promo - buy 2, get 1 free. However, I asked for 1 of the drinks to not have ice. This is how much they give you. Not even half if you order without ice. When asked why is it this less, the cashier said they already measured the amount and that is how much we get. For $4 each, it's mostly ice! This is my favorite banh baos they are the perfect size and have a great filling to breading ratio the perfect combo that make them so delicious! If you can, buy them in boxes by the boat load! I always try to get two or more boxes when I come if they are available and order the #1 combination. They are the perfect size small and petite but packed with flavor, perfectly cooked, moist, perfectly salty inside and a hit of sweetness in the shelling. My mom and dad absolutely loves their heo quay banh mi (crispy pork banh mi). They are basically feral when it comes to it. Each banh mi comes with pickled carrots and daikon along with sliced cucumber, jalapenos, mayo, pate, soy sauce, cilantro, and weirdly enough, laksa leaves (vietnamese cilantro, you'll find this most commonly eaten with balut). Their heo quay is okay to me. It's definitely fatty and lean but i wish the meat was more juicy. Personally, I like their house special banh mi as its fatty yet still very lean. I also love their bread, reminds me of some authentic banh mi bread. Personally, I prefer to go to hole in the wall places as those places provide more authenticity to their banh mi unlike mr.baguette which is probably my least liked banh mi chain. Banh Mi Saigon is probably the best chain. Besides talking about banh mi chains, one advice I would give is probably ask for more mayo. I think it will add more flavor in combination with the lean meat. Also, I wouldn't recommend eating this after a couple hours as it won't be crispy anymore. Eat it while it's fresh. I always thought of this place as "alright". Some tasty baos, a little on the sweet side. Staple congees. Usually busy but that not out of place in the area. You know what you come for and you pick of the food. Usually requested by the older relatives. They're busy so you take that into consideration as you go. A lot of things could pass and I wouldn't have a complaint. Except when we found Mold on our order. Black blue spots of mold over an entire box of baos. Mold dotting all but 2 of the buns, They were small and irregular but still, that's mold. The whole box couldn't be eaten or presented. Which sucked bc we 'gave' a box to someone so they complained too. Things happen. But that's not the worst part yet. We went back to the store with the moldy boxes to complain, and this is what they responded with. Translated from Vietnamese: "Some of our items use black dough. Maybe it got a bit mixed in?" What. I'm sorry, what? I check the menu for anything with black or blue dough. Nothing. Never have I seen a black or blue doughy item. But hey, I don't know what's going on in the kitchen. I had peeled a bun beforehand. No black on the inside. No black dough mixed in. Mold was just on the surface. While I'm in disbelief, the aunties go livid. It takes some angry Asian aunties to get someone else out to resolve this. It shouldn't have to. They then immediately offer another two boxes of baos or a refund. It's not about the money. We got and gifted their moldy products. Then got disregarded in the dumbest way. I don't know who told us "it's just black dough" but management did step out to try to make it right. I'll give them that. I'll still probably pick up orders for the fam. in the future. Just watch out, check the food, and don't take any bad excuses. Update: the Banh Bo (steamed rice cake) is sour. My Vietnamese sucks so I had my mom place an order of 25 egg rolls for me for pickup the next day at 1pm. I showed up at 1:05pm on the day of to a very empty shop. A lady came out of the back and I told her I was there to pick up an order. The look she gave me told me they did not have my order ready.
