Their strawberry cake is beyond delicious. Light, fluffy, just the right amount of sweet. My favorite!!!!

Yummy House made our wedding cake in September of 2015. They put together a lovely three-tiered square cake for us with a delicious and not-too-sweet whipped cream frosting, blueberry cream filling, and well-executed decorative finishing. Trust me I grew up in Boston and NYC Chinatown, I know things most seattlites don't. I'm an ABC and my uncle also knows how to make this stuff the right way. I don't know what kind of bakeries these people have been to but the chinese pastries sucks here. The coconut bun is coarsely chopped, it's suppose to be finely done and baked with a creamy center. not to mention the bubble tea. I was once in a rush and thought I could get both here. I m so sorry that i dont know why so many people think this Yummy house is good. In my opinion, it is not yummy at all. i dont like the fruit cakes there. the fruit is not fresh and it tastes sour. the fruit on the top is so small and stingy. i dont like the slices of cakes there either, because they are way too dry ! the breads (or buns) taste so bad too .... and the price seems fair but with tax, it is just as same as other bakeries . For example, the BBQ bun is 1.75 per one ! after taxed, it is like 2.00. almost 2 bucks for a bun? no way ! the only thing i recommend is the sponge cake. but they only taste good when they are fresh. read more

Excellent! My girlfriend was down in the dumps the other day so I ordered some (lots of) pastries to cheer her up. We ended up sharing an egg tart, sweet sugar doughnut, coconut bun, fresh strawberry cake, matcha mousse cake, and custard cream puff. The pastries tasted very fresh even though I ordered in the evening and were delicious, very clean flavors and just sweet enough to be extremely well balanced. Favorites were definitely the egg tart and fresh strawberry cake, but again, everything was wonderful. We can't wait to visit the shop in person and admire the beautiful pastries and order some of their specialty drinks! read more

Ooo, don't bother here. I got a bun and it was dry and stale and tasted of that unexplainable fridge odor. A slice of black forest cake was even worse, the delicate whipped cream like frosting they use reeked of it, and it was also dry and stale though the gal swore up and down it was made today. You can tell my tastebuds and nose that, but I don't think they will believe you. Clean your fridge people, cleanliness is key in bakeries. Waste of money. read more

Definitely not recommended this forever! I will give 0 star, if yelp allowed. My husband spent $145 to buy a double layer wedding cake. There is no decorations on the cake. Yes, she told me before, the pics that she showed us, the decoration is purchased by the buyer and is them to put on the cake. Somehow, I can still take it. But there is no cap/ lid for the cake box. All dinner is on the night, how can we put the cake in the refrigerator like this, without a lid! He said they do not have a big box like this so he does not give us a lid. And told my husband to put the cake in the back of the car. How stupid! If we made a U turn, or emergency stop, the cake gonna be destroy very easy. I have to sit back and watch the cake. We ordered this cake 2weeks before, I can't understand why they did Not buy a lid for the cake! They gave us the cake just like this pic! Really really angry and do not come back again! I like to come earlier in the day where they have a larger selection of fresh pastries. By the end of the night (which they close at 8PM, much later than other bakeries in the area), not much is left and I definitely question it's freshness. I still decided to get a cake since I didn't want boba across the street (it was too cold for that!). So I opted for the green tea mousse cake. I like the flavor, rich green tea flavors but the mousse itself was really gelatinous for me and not soft and creamy. One thing I appreciated was the honesty of the man behind the counter when I asked about the sweetness level of their cakes. He said it's not that sweet-- something that I have grown to appreciate, too. Most places make their pastries super sweet and Yummy House Bakery does not! Yay! But same with the pastries I think. I had gotten a red bean bun and I wish the bread was a tad bit sweeter though! That was another time I came into this bakery. It was midday and they actually had just run out of red bean buns but the lady working behind the counter was sweet enough to give me one of her ten buns that was just baked that she was going to give to her mom. This place had it's master grand re-opening and it still looks the same to me, or maybe it's been too long that I've been here, so I forgot how small this place is. Anyways their bakeries are pretty good and are baked fresh, however, sometimes they sit in the bin for quite a while, so it can be cold. I like how they have so many different deserts options to try and they have great customer service even early in the morning when I don't feel like grinding. The place is very clean for Chinatown and I found out they have wi-fi that they don't like to share :( read more

it really is yummy. i would suggest their coconut buns they are my personal favorite. however the bean cakes are also hard to resist. they also have some of the best elcairs ever which is weird becuase somehow i wouldn't expect eclair in an asia bakery but it works! read more

This review is based off of my experience buying a birhday cake at Yummy Bakery. I called at 2:30pm the day prior to needing a cake by 10:30am, afraid I was way too late. The nice woman taking my call didn't even hesitate - no problem, they'd have it ready in the morning. She asked what kind of cake I wanted ("Uh...chocolate?" to which she suggested Black Forest), and whether I wanted anything written on it. I arrived at the bakery the next morning at 9:55am, and at 10am on the dot they had it ready. The gal showed me the cake, boxed it up nicely and included a cake cutter and a couple birthday candles. The cake was very fresh and moist with cherry filling, whipped cream icing (not too sweet, yay!), chocolate shavings on the sides, and had a decorative chocolate "Happy Birthday" disc on top. I couldn't help but ogle all the delicious looking items in the display cases while I waited - different cakes, tarts, and buns which I'll have to come back to try. I highly reccommend Yummy House Bakery for their cakes and excellent customer service. read more

I LOVE their sponge cakes. I buy them by the dozen! They are moist and fluffy and come in 3 different flavors -- plain, mocha and green tea. My favorite is the mocha. I bring them as gifts to my family in Oregon. One time I ordered their whole custard cake, which was pretty good. The ladies behind the counter are also very nice. Not my money's worth. I've tried the mixed fruit cake and it's basically a mixed melon fruit salad. There was loads of cream and melon and that was it. NO CAKE and 3 pieces of strawberries, 4 slices of peach and about 5 pieces of blueberries. I would have asked for a refund but it was a friend's birthday. read more

I'm a super big fan here!! The best bakery store in Chinatown. You can custom your birthday cake on your own. I like ice cream inside with green tea or red bean flavor outside. It's very tasty. I stopped by here with a few friends for a quick and light lunch. They had a good selection of buns and cakes to choose from, and a small bubble tea menu too. I went with the staple BBQ pork bun and sweet bun. The BBQ pork bun was good, while the sweet bun was a little on the dry side. The place was clean and had a few tables, but we took our food with us and ate while we walked and enjoyed the sunshine. This won't be my last time stopping by here, that's for sure. read more

I've order many items over the years and have never been disappointed. Even when I show up right when they open they provide the necessary amount tarts I desire. They are always friendly and have what I'm looking for. I have used them for parties and will use them for my wedding. The prices are good. BBQ pork buns. Ahhhh. Theirs are addictive. Fluffy, slightly sweet, with pork on the inside that is carmelized with sweet-savory goodness. You cannot beat this place for the value. I love it because it is what it is--they didn't consult any "branding" consultant. They are a family-owned bakery that takes pride in producing delicious, more than fairly priced food every day.
