I had lunch here when I was waiting for my order at Juice It Up! next-door to be completed when I realized I was hungry for real food so I ordered here. I'm glad k did because oh my gosh this was so delicious and so flavorful. I highly recommend it coming on your lunch break or if you're in the area! I made the mistake of driving by this establishment many times without giving it a try, if you're reading this review take the chance and enjoy the food! I ordered the Chicken Shawarma Plate which comes with 3 sides and a base. For my three sides I chose Tabbouleh, Organic Quinoa Salad and Hummus and for the base I got a House Salad. The Zaky sauce has great flavor. I placed my order and waited about 17 minutes, if you're in a rush I recommending ordering ahead online so you can pick up your order and avoid the wait. However if you have the time to spare the wait was well worth it, I'm very satisfied and can't wait to order from here again. The woman working behind the counter was sweet, I got to see her interaction with a regular and it was nice to see they value their customers. Thank you Zaky team, the food was delicious! read more

The man who took my order was wearing a mask, but two men working behind the counter were NOT wearing masks. When I got home, my meal was 1/4 white meat chicken with sides. I called the store and told the manager on duty that my meal was filled incorrectly. Then I asked if masks are required to be worn by staff. The answer is NO. Not at this store, not at any Zaky's. I called the store in Claremont to confirm, and they said that masks are optional for staff. When you go to a pharmacy, the staff all wear masks. Service is adequate, food is good, but way over priced. If I am going to pay this much for food I better get more meat or sides than what was given. I was given 4 small pieces of meat with a ton of rice like a ton. I like rice but not that much to where I don't have anything to go with it. Like the portion to meat to rice to sides like the turnips and tabouleh needs to be adjusted because I ain't paying 16 bucks for rice. I almost gave a 1 but a 2 because the food is good it just isn't right to pay that much just for rice and I'm not gonna go back just to find out by the time I get home I have just a little bit of meat. Worst service ever. Kabobs mediocre. 25 min wait while the clueless kid at the counter continued to answer the phone for orders rather than handle the waiting customers. Handed us someone else's order and after discovering it when we got home and called in, the same clueless kid was dismissive and rather than offer a refund, offered for us to drive back and pick up the food (cold by now) or drive back and talk to the manager. My brother recommended this place. He lives in Fontana, and has a store right down the street from his home, but said, go to the Upland location. I live in Long Beach, I was making the trek to bring lunch for the family festivities for Mother's Day. I called and John picked up the phone. I warned him I had a lot of questions and he was ready. I am not familiar with the quantity of family pack meals, but John was knowledgeable AND patient. I was impressed with how he handled the call and offered menu suggestions. We picked up our order, at the established time. There was a bit of a wait, but I get it's a holiday weekend. When we arrived at my brother's house, we began unpacking the food! OMGoodness, everything was accounted for, the aroma was amazing and the food looked delicious. Fast forward to eating! We needed bigger plates and stomachs! The steak was tender and flavorful. The rice was moist and plentiful. The chicken and kafta were tasty. The dolmas, lord have mercy! I needed a moment with those bad boys. I wish I had ordered more. As my family began slipping into food comas, I kept thanking my brother for the recommendation. Amazing food, generous helping and great customer service. 5 stars for sure. We finally got to celebrate Christmas with our family tonight. I placed an order of $85 dollars worth of food. We picked up the food in Upland and drove it to our moms in San Dimas. When we arrived we started sorting out the food and realized the restaurant left out all the pita bread. Which is our favorite part of the meal. When we called to say the pita was missing they asked if there was anything they could do. I just said we just wanted them to know. Hopefully that doesn't happen to anyone else. Double check your order. With the Covid situation I didn't sit there making sure the entire order was there. Very disappointed. We will not be back. I frequent here at least twice a month to get takeout. Typically a good experience. Unfortunately, the RUDE young lady at the front counter has ruined that. Standing at the counter, I waited about 5 minutes as she talked with a customer on the phone. She provided no greeting or gesture of acknowledgment as I stood at the counter. I finally had to inform her that my food was ready , as it sat behind her in the pick-up area. She rolled her eyes, clearly displaying her annoyance. Next, she made a passive aggressive comment and went to retrieve my order. After which, I advised that although she was on the phone, it is customary to welcome a customer upon entrance. While I had no issue waiting as she took an order, waiting to be acknowledged for over 5 minutes as I stood directly in front of her is unacceptable. I understand that customer service is not always taught to employees, however, to proceed to engage with me in an argumentative manner is where I draw the line. Experiences like these make me believe that customer service is dead. I refuse to support a business that does not value their customers. read more

Oh my gosh I don't understand the low ratings for this place. After years of curiosity I finally ordered from Zaky and I am blown away by how freaking delicious this food was!! I got a plate with a chicken kabob and steak kabob with a rice base, sides of hummus, greek salad and quinoa salad. Every single thing on that plate was amaaaaaazing. This place is full of BS. If you have half an hour to wait for crappy food that's unworthy of the price then by all means, come to Zaky's. Their business hours say they open at 10, so we got there at 10:07 (see our receipt) and our food took half an hour. Only one other gentleman was waiting for food and he was getting impatient as well, he was even there before us. Now the icing on the cake was when the cashier (spanish speaking lady) apologized for the wait and explained to us that they open at 10, and employees don't get there til 10. I couldnt believe what I heard so i asked "so you guys don't prep BEFORE 10?" She says they don't. That the employees get asked by the bosses to show up at 10 because customers don't come right at 10 anyway. My girlfriend and I were very hungry after hiking so we decided to try Zaky's on our way home. After we ordered we sat down and noticed the Christian decor and Christian pop music on the radio. I myself am a Christian, so I was very surprised to see a "Say No To Panhandlers" sign in the middle of the counter....Really Is that what Jesus would do? I was offended. The young lady who served us was very friendly and helpful, and I didn't want to make her feel personally responsible, but the sad irony of this callous sign, underneath a cross on the wall made me feel sick. The management should be ashamed. Shame on Zaky Grill for serving empty ideology instead of quality food. I'll never eat here again. read more

When my daughter requested Mediterranean food for her graduation party we looked at other places but Zaky's prices beat everyone and we know their food was good. They far exceeded our expectations for catering. You get so much food. It's fresh and ready when you pick it up. Everyone at the party said the food was excellent. I followed up 2 weeks later, ordering Zaky's for an office party and everyone loved it and we had so much food left over that I have eaten it for lunch for the last 2 days! I like their Kabobs, hummus, stuffed grape leaves and garlic spread. Note: if you are not a fan of a lot of garlic, don't do the garlic spread; it is overwhelmingly garlic.
