Even though I love their food, they take way to slow. Today I called in to pickup and they said ten minutes but I got there 30 minutes later and they still didn't have my order so I waited another ten minutes and the entire place was empty. If you call to make an order just make sure to do it an hour in advanced. Or then you'll be stuck there through your lunch hour. read more

I have been going to Zankou Chicken for years. This will probably be the last time. I got the chicken and beef skewer combo. The chicken tasted like it is pre-marinated and came in a bag that way from some far-off state to save money. The texture was odd and had a chemical taste. The beef tasted like it was below the lowest grade possible, if it was even USDA graded. Both skewers were inedible and had an odd odor so I threw them. What a waste of money! Thankfully the rice and hummus were good. The service is also good. I don't blame the service because they can only cook the crap that's given to them. I will go to Vakos Kebab two blocks away. It's MUCH better and their garlic sauce is so much better anyway. read more

My husband and I came here to have dinner... we are both so speechless and sad about our experience.. I hate to write a bad review but this is beyond a bad experience... whenever we come to this location most of the employees have a attitude but we kept coming because we love Zankou.. this time was a different story. I got the chicken tarna and after eating a few bites I saw my chicken was raw!!!!! I always threw up sitting there as everyone knows how dangerous it is if you eat raw chicken... I really hope I didn't eat any of the raw ones... I sat there speechless I went up to the girls in the front and told her my chicken is raw she smiled at me said ok hold on then the manager comes and smiled and said oh I heard ur chicken is raw and looked at my food and said yea it is raw I'm sorry can I get u a beef plate? Really if I wanted beef I would of gotten beef.. I said no thanks I don't want anything and she asked if I had my receipt so I went back to my table got it and she took everything off my charge.. but that's not the point... the guy cooking that day ( while I was waiting for the " manager" ) looked at my food and didn't say a word nothinggggg at all... I've been coming to Zankou for 25 years.. both my family our friends... and I'm honestly very sadden by this no one even cares.. it's Raw Chicken!!!! Do you guys know what could happen? Okay so if you enjoy Greek, middle eastern, or Mediterranean food this is the place to go. I work in Burbank and love that I have a great variety of dining options to try, but I always go to Zankou. The amount of food they give is enough for two people so basically I get two lunch's out of it which is very nice on the wallet. I suggest you go check this place out and make sure you get some of their famous garlic sauce!! I'll be picking up a chicken kabob plate (my favorite) for lunch today......my mouth is watering thinking of the food. read more

I want to thank the tall blond woman that works there. She was so very helpful and friendly. I love Zankou becasue its fresh tasty and healthier than most fast food spots. Its all good, I havent had a bad experiance with anything on the menu! My fave is the chicken tarna or the chicken and lule kabob plate. The tahini is so good, and so is the garlic paste. The service is better here than some other locations for some reason. This is the nicest Zankou I have been to, but I love them all. My only fear is that if all Zankou end up looking like this, they are going to raise there prices again... read more

I used to go to zankou Burbank almost twice a week but haven't been going for almost 4 months now for different reasons. Today I decided to give it one more try. I went there and ordered chicken shawarma plate and chicken shawarma a la carte. I had to repeat to the cashier my order 3 times since I felt she is new and made sure she got it correctly repeating that I want chicken. I got my order and l left I had a feeling that the wrong item was given to me so I opened it in my car to check and sure enough I was correct, instead of chicken shawarma they gave me beef so I went in and told the lady that I ordered chicken and the lady named Nour with big attitude and in a very confident and rude way told me that we give chicken shawarma a different name and didn't even apologize. I had clearly mentioned and explained it the cashier that I don't want beef I want chicken. Anyway, I got my chicken and left and came home to see the 2nd plate also was wrong. We don't eat beef so I ended up throwing that 2nd plate. On the side note the chicken was so dry this time. I think the staff of this branch need better training and talk to customers in a nicer way. Previously I had also issues with missing and wrong items. I come home either bread is missing or garlic is missing or some other issues. This was a favorite for us but today at the Burbank facility the manager was so rude. My cc swipe doesn't work, just the chip or you can put in the number. First he says "if it can't swipe we can't take it", then changed to "we can't put in numbers",then "can't do it because of fraud".This all while the woman waiting on me was trying to just put the number in! Went there last night for the first time after reading the great reviews and was and totally DISAPPOINTED. The food was absolutely nasty. We ordered the whole chicken to go which comes with garlic sauce and bread. The chicken was bland and way overcooked - the wings were dry and tough and the meat was falling off the bone. The garlic sauce (which so many people seem to love) was a highly processed paste. The only good thing about the meal was the bread but that was store bought and not made in-house. I've been going to Zankou Chicken for years, and the Burbank restaurant is my favorite. Recently, they handed out a coupon for a whole chicken for $5, but there was a relatively small window of time to cash in on it. Apparently, there was a line out the door to get the deal. I got there about half an hour late, and was told I missed the window. The manager was on hand and saw the look of disappointment on my face. He jumped in and honored the coupon, despite the fact that it was expired. It is service like this that keeps me coming back. read more

Their chicken is so flavorful unlike many of the rotisserie chickens you purchase at supermarkets. I've had a few of their dishes and can't say a negative thing about them. This is one of the most creative restaurant settings I've seen at SoCal. I mean please a tree in the middle of the restaurant! the food is always great there. My two only favorite items are chicken shawurma and falafel. That's it... their good old specialty! I love the food here and the amount you get per plate leaves me left overs for later!!!! It has become my number one craving during my pregnancy. The decor and atmosphere is upgraded here compare to the Glendale one. As far as food quality, it is the same. You cannot go wrong with the chicken and garlic paste/sauce. The food is very good. If you like garlic, you are really in for a treat. Chicken is very tender and moist and flavorful. They're very consistent in the preparation and it is just delicious.
