This was my first time getting food at this restaurant and it is probably my last. Well, I might try a different location, but until they change or train their staff I will not bother with the Burbank location. I arrived at 6:30pm on 4/18/19 and tried to order a half chicken meal. The cashier informed me they were out of chicken and it would be 30 minutes until they had more. Then she said they had one half chicken left. I told her all I wanted was a half chicken, so could I have the one that was left? She said yes and took my order and payment. As I waited I heard a different person call up another customer and tell them that they were mistaken and they had one half chicken left. Then, after a few more minutes I was called up to be told there was no more half chicken and it would be 30 minutes until there was any. She wanted to give me my money back instead of letting me order something else. I told her I was promised the half chicken and that I heard her give it to another customer who had already accepted there wasn't any. She couldn't explain why she disrupted two orders and when I sarcastically thanked her for giving away my food she replied your welcome with a big smile. I went ahead and ordered something else because I had already wasted 20 minutes there, but I will never return. I don't care how good or bad the food is, the staff are a big part of why I go back to a restaurant and this staff needs an overhaul. What chicken restaurant is out of chicken during dinner time? On the date of September 5, 2024, I found myself at a specific venue where, regrettably, I left my mobile phone on a table. In an effort to resolve this issue, I approached the management, specifically engaging with a manager identifiable by her black T-shirt and distinctive curly hair, though her name remains unknown to me. I respectfully requested her assistance in reviewing the surveillance footage to ascertain whether my phone had been taken. Contrary to professional expectations, her response was dismissively unhelpful; she insisted that accessing the camera footage was not within her capacity. When I suggested escalating the matter to the owner, she further claimed that the contact information for the owner was unavailable, a response that struck me as deceptive. Based on her reaction, I considered the legal option of pursuing a claim against the establishment due to what appeared to be dishonest conduct on her part. This incident compels me to strongly advise the management team of this establishment to prioritize the training of their staff. It is imperative that employees exhibit a higher standard of professionalism when interacting with patrons. Failure to address this issue might very well lead to significant repercussions for the business in the future. read more

My only complaint is that they don't sell the Garlic Sauce by the barrel, or bucket, or vat. To their credit the counter guy just smiles and follows through when I ask for a dozen ramiken sized containers. I would eat it with fish. I would eat it with vegs. I would eat it with cereal. My boyfriend says it's coming out of my pores, I said "love me or leave me, 'cause I'm not stoppin' the garlic sauce". The rottisserie chicken is excellent. What's on the plate is always so good that I'm not bothered by the iris melting lighting or the wobbley chairs and tables. The pickled veg side dish is okay -- nothing to bark about. Don't know how to put this into any other way, but the chicken here at Zankou will definitely throw you off guard if it is your first time to visit the place. This place has too much to offer that you literally don't know what to choose once you start seeing their menu. Their chicken is just awesome! Never found anything like it before, the juice is stored inside the meat and you literally taste each bite you make. Garlic chicken, wrap it in pita and your good to go! Garbanzos are also nice and tasty, adds a different flavor to the otherwise bland taste of a normal chicken. Definitely worth trying out read more

I love love love everyone here!!!! It was already 10:57 and saw 2 ladies almost cleaning but i was really hungry at the moment and i surely needed to munch on some food ! Without a doubt, they still accepted even if i chose to eat my kabob plate dine in . When I was almost finished, I was kind of hesitating to ask for extra garlic sauce just for me to take it home but i'm so happy i did not think twice. The guys (i'm assuming cooks) are so generous. I Love Zankou! having said that, the main star here is the garlic sauce, the chicken is good also, but the garlic sauce takes the show. I have a friend that swears by their falafel, but to me it was "ok" at best. The best thing here is the chicken Tarna wraps or the plate that let's you make about 2 good wraps. Don't forget the pickled turnips! Good clean and casual atmosphere, unlike the other locations. The only reason it did not get 5 stars is that the ladies at the front always depress me when I see them - they often just look tired of being there. I feel their pain... read more

This restaurant is as real as it comes, and and lives up to its reputation and beyond. Service and ambience are perfect. One of us had the calamari fritti to start and I had the caprese. We shared a spaghetti with homemade meatballs and the chicken parmesan. Everything tasted of the highest quality. Home cooking style for sure. It was also so cool to see the cooks make our food through the open kitchen. They also have a great and well priced wine list. We dined on the patio. A very pleasant experience all around. This place is the real deal! Absolutely some of the freshest most flavorful food I've tasted. We got a meal deal with a whole roast chicken, two sides and pita bread. The chicken is fall off the bone, the tabouleh was fresh, colorful and well balanced, the hummus was almost whipped it was so smooth and delicious. The meal is served with the crowning glory, vinegar soaked turnips and garlic butter. We ended up going through about ten of the small little cups they serve it in. It's melt in your mouth garlic deliciousness. Highly recommended and a new favorite of ours. read more

I love me some Zankou Chicken, all the flavors and spices are always on point. Usually I get the whole chicken and me and my girls devour it so fast lol, I love the cleanliness of this place for it to be more fast food standard it really stands out, the cashiers Joselin and Arina are always fun to talk to and have the BEST customer service EVER. This location isn't shy on the garlic sauce either I can ask for a second one with no problems lol. I can't see myself stop coming here and definitely will return for the friendly faces and excellent workers here! read more

Oooooh how I Iove dining in at the Burbank location! So relaxing! This place deserves 6 stars! Another funny thing was I had a long conversation with the cashier because she asked me how I was doing and it's very rare for some employees to ask you that! I didn't even notice there were few customers behind me but she never made me feel uncomfortable! And I just enjoyed that short encounter. I wish we have more cashiers like them in the food industry. If I had to choose one food that I can eat for the rest of my life, it would be Zankou Chicken! (a little biased because I love mediterranean food...) Aside from the fat and juicy chicken and the fresh ingredients that make this place one of the best mediterranean restaurant, what really sets this place different is their garlic sauce! I have tried the kabobs and shawerma, but my favorite is the quarter plate. Now when I say FAT, the chicken is literally fat! I get full off the quarter chicken and I do have a big appetite!! read more

For the price you have to pay, I can definitely say that Zankou chicken deserves it. The chicken they have here are so yummy and delicious, you wouldn't want to miss out on all the action until you actually taste it! The portions are large, juicy and the sauce penetrates deep into the meat. The pita chicken combo is also very good. I wanted to try this restaurant after driving past it for a while on the way to and from work. I found some time yesterday for lunch and stopped in and was very happy to have tried there food. I ordered the chicken kabob skewers and it was so fresh and yummy, the texture was good and it was cooked to perfection. It was plenty of food and very filling. The service was very nice as well I was welcomed in with a friendly smile. Will be back again soon to try other things on the menu. 5 stars! read more

I was craving for a good place to get me full off of Mediterranean food. This spot has the best customer service and they give you good food to back it up! I got the mix plate with both chicken and beef and it was delicious . The sauces was also good and complimented all the food I ordered. I will most definitely be back for more food here just because of there excellent customer service. Always a great time visiting Zankou Chicken here in the Valley, I live in AZ & we don't have this restaurant there so whenever I get the chance I gotta make a stop here at this Burbank Zankou. The workers here are friendly and generous. They're far from stingy when it comes to the amenities. The chicken is always fresh and extremely tasty. I've been coming to this place for months now. Last night was the first time I was thoroughly impressed with Poleen (I'm thinking she's the manager) she was working really quickly, getting food out and taking orders over the phone.. just REALLY working ! I always appreciate when the managers just don't sit around. Usually we wait a while to get our food but with her multitasking and everyone's hard work we only waited a very short time. I enjoyed my lunch here today with my friends very much. The experience was much needed after having to drive over four hours this morning. We needed a break and that environment inside of this restaurant was very comfortable. The workers never rushed us and we felt very welcome. I recently ate at Zankou chicken and I so loved it. The customer service was second to none and what I really liked about this restaurant was that it was very clean and the food came out pretty fast. For the past 15 years I have been a regular at Zankou and honestly believe their chicken is truly the best. Crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside. I have tried their kabobs as well but the Chicken is the main attraction when paired with their garlic paste. I have to deduct one star since their prices have shot through the roof in the past 4-5 years to the point where I have cut back from my visits. read more
