We brought many appetizers, and we can't even allowed to assign the appetizers to the kid who will not order a full portion meal. They will charge 20% gratuities, and with tips you will spend 35% to 40% additional fees and plus $10 for each person who is not ordering a main dish. If charging the $10 sharing fee, at least increase the meal portion size.... For a party of 9, we walked out only paying for the appetizers. read more

I attended a wedding here last Saturday. It's located off of 130, near a hotel. Not too many other buildings nearby. Grounds looked lovely, lots of outdoor seating, and indoor seating. There were 2 entrances to the restaurant. We were in the main dining room. It looked beautiful for an intimate wedding reception. I loved the floral arrangements of the tables. The reception was cocktail style. There was only one vegetarian hors d'oeuvres, but the buffet had a decent selection of nibbles. Food was good, I enjoyed the brushetta, pasta, and spanikopita. Good selection of vinos, not sure if the restaurant provided those, but I enjoyed a glass of rosé. Anytime there is rosé at the wedding, I'm a happy gal. Good service, very nice wait staff. With the tables and amount of people (60-70 ish?), there wasn't much of a dance space, but we were able to get down and boogie! Sound quality wasn't anything amazing, but I suppose you could bring in a deejay. I enjoyed eating here. I think Zinna's would be a nice place to eat dinner or any meal with your family/friends, a great option for an intimate wedding celebration, or just to grab some Italian food. Not impressed with this place. Have been there a number of times during various periods and had difficulties with the boss who basically accused me of lying when I made a reservation during the peak of Covid - I had made a reservation for 12 on their big table outside and apparently that was against the rules so he proceeded to berate me in front of all our guests - likely my wife heard me make the reservation so I was not to blame for screwing up the reservation - not that it was an issue. Then on an other occasion one of our guests ordered a steak rare and it came over cooked. One other time they "bouchered" the cork on an old bottle of wine. That was my out to never go back there. Good and not so good. The 2 star is reflective of the experience we had and not for the food or the waitstaff. The good - nice location, good setup, waitstaff was decent, good bread in the start. Food is good with solid portions. The not so good - we booked a table for an occasion which we discussed with the manager in advance and had reservations for 6:30 pm. We showed up a little late (6:45) due to snow. It was a Saturday. Covid rules were in effect but the restaurant was at full capacity. We had a table in the corner so didn't mind but other tables were not 6 feet apart. The waitstaff followed the Covid guidelines well. The service was quick and we were wrapping up at around 8 pm but as we were still finishing up dinner, I waved to one of the waitstaff that turned out to be the owner (didn't know that) for water. Imagine my surprise when he walked over and rudely told me that we were holding the table for over 2 hours and that we needed to wrap up quickly. Point 1 - we were there for 1:15 mins tops. 2 - At no point during the reservation did they tell us we had to give up the table. 3 - celebration was ruined as they started to clean up the table as we were finishing up. The owners entire agenda at that point was to push us out. And it wasn't a kind request or courteous approach.... just rude. Ridiculous! Never going back there again. read more

I've been coming to Zinna's for years. The food is very good, however their prices have gone up (hasn't it everywhere). They moved to an area within an industrial park - nice location on a man made lake, if they have larger parties no worries about being too loud!! Recent visit, soon after quarantine lifted was not as good as previous visits but would not deter me from going back. Restaurants are trying their best, the staff having to wear hot masks running back/forth is stressful, cooks wearing masks - hot & uncomfortable. They are trying and even though slightly disappointed, keeping in mind how everyone has an off night... will keep going as I know the food is good and they are great people!! read more

Finally got a chance to try out zinna's bistro for Mother's Day. I knew they had a unique menu and it was very good. Amazing homemade mozz sticks. The cherry pepper glaze calamari was awesome and the calamari was nice and crispy. Veal chop Milanese was huge and very tasty. Can't wait to get back and try out some other menu items. Very reasonable pricing as well. The staff is very attentive rive and the owner and his wife are very friendly. read more

Terrible service at this spot - we waited two hours to get our appetizers itself. Other people who came after us got their food before we did, and when asked why the service was late, our server made up as many excuses possible. Good food, decor, and friendly service made this a winner for me. Located close to a client's office we came here for a dinner meeting as it's pretty much the only restaurant around in this sleepy part of town near an industrial park area. Nice joint with an attractive decor and smooth music playing from Sinatra to old standard classics. More like a Euro-Italian bistro setting. Outdoor patio too for al fresco dining during nice weather. They even have a mobile food truck that looks like it can handle large events and parties. More than enough Italian options on the menu and I found the prices to be reasonable overall. I had the Chicken Eduardo - Chicken Breast, Jumbo Lump Crabmeat, & Asparagus Points in a Pink Brandy Sauce over Homemade Penne Pasta. Pretty damn tasty and filling plate of food. They also place a basket of housemade bread and small bowl of oil to dip it in. Mmmmm....... Of course, the gluttonous pig in me used almost the whole basket of bread to sop up the remaining sauce on my plate. Even after I dipped it in the oil. Hope my client didn't notice. read more

We had a wonderful, tasty dinner there last night with two exceptions which I will mention at the end of my review. We were a large party of 12, the service was excellent, friendly and attentive. We loved our appetizers, especially the calamari. Their rolls and the salad were delicious. Great dinner choices, from beef, veal, lamb, fish etc... with wonderful presentation and taste. The decor is quaint. We definitely will return. Our first suggestion please lower the sound of the music, it was lovely but not conducive to conversation. Our only negative comment, the Asian Rib Special some of us ordered was much too salty, but very tender. Our party consisted of mainly Asian Americans. A suggestion from our most senior member who also used to own a couple of restaurants in NYC, mix the soy sauces, one for color (low salt) and one for saltiness, add some sugar to correct the saltiness. A party of 6 dined here tonight. We presented Group-On coupons for 4 & 2 of us. The restaurant was virtually empty, yet we were told by the server, then the owner that we couldn't use both certificates if we were sitting together. The dinner for 2 cert. expired in a few days so it was suggested that we use it vs. the dinner for 4 which would have been our preference. We asked for water from the get-go, yet it took 20 minutes after having reached out to the owner, once again to get us 6 glasses of water. I ordered the seared Pork chop. Upon arrival I could see that the Pork chop looked extremely over-cooked. A few bites confirmed for me what I 1st thought. It was well done & tasteless. When I informed the server of such, he asked if I would want it cooked the way it was ordered (medium). I said no and asked to speak to the owner. She never showed, however, I received my small serving of kale. I asked the server at that point if he communicated to the owner my displeasure re the main course and if she was going to come address it. He said he had. Eventually, our party finished their meal. No sign of the owner. I went to the pizza area where the owner was about to depart from. When asked by the help what I needed, I explained the need to talk to the owner. Instead the manager appeared a few minutes later asking how he could help. I repeated my request to speak with the owner. He left the area and returned soon-after to inform me that the owner was "tied up" and couldn't see me. Needless to say, the evening was tarnished for us all by this sequence of events and the apparent lack of caring by the owner as to her customer's experience. Based on this, I strongly recommend NOT patronizing Zinna's Bistro. Any other respectable restaurant with the owner in-house would ever ignore a customer's dissatisfaction the way this was. PS - I would hope that the fact that we were using GROUP-ON as our payment didn't have anything to do with this experience. PPS - A week or so after, I visited Brio Tuscan Grill at Quakerbridge mall. I came to Zinna's Bistro with a group of colleagues while we were in the area. When we got to the restaurant it was fairly empty and got seated right away. We placed our orders and the food came out about 15 minutes later. The restaurant also has a patio area and would be a great place to eat, weather permitting. As for the food quality, it is good The issue i have with this establishment is the location. It is somewhat difficult to get to. I would recommend this establishment to anyone in the area. We had reservation and when we showed up, the place was empty. We wanted to sit under the tent because it was cold but they insisted we sit outside. We had to push to be seated under the tent. This past weekend I had my wedding at Zinna's Bistro. We were going to do it later this year but due to extenuating circumstances we decided to do it with very short notice (2 weeks!). Lucky for us Zinna's had the date available. We immediately went and met with the extremely friendly and competent manager Nicole. I went to her with no preconceived ideas of what I wanted and let her know I would rely on her expertise to help me plan our special day. Everything was perfect, almost as if she read my mind and knew what we would love. She let us know we could come early the day of the wedding to decorate but Zinna's is so beautiful and intimate inside that truly no decorations are needed. When we arrived at the restaurant the owners and entire staff greeted us. Everyone let us know they were there to make our day as special as possible, and they did not disappoint. My family enjoyed the staff so much they want to invite them to our next family function as guests. When I first walked in the room, I saw a beautifully decorated dessert tower filled with mini pastries. This was completely unexpected and so appreciated. The food was plentiful and delicious. My husband's favorite appetizer is fried calamari and Zinna's was fantastic. The entrées were delicious and were served family style, which all my guests loved. With the abundance of food, I am so glad they sent us home with some of the extra's or I would not have been able to try everything. If I had a year to plan this event, it couldn't have been any better! If you are planning an event, I would highly recommend this restaurant to help plan and execute your special day - They will not disappoint. read more

I had the pleasure of eating at Zinna's Bistro last week on Tuesday after discovering their food truck at Cranbury NJ night out. The waitresses were excellent and friendly the atmosphere was awesome. We watched a thunderstorm come over the lake while my family ate dinner. The food here makes this the best restaurant in this area. We ordered the goat cheese salads which were savory and we had the wings for appetizers. The wings were a little sweet for my taste but overall very good. My wife ordered the salmon which was very good. I ordered the 45 ounce steak which was the special for the day. This slice of heaven was huge and melted in your mouth. Each bite caused me to audibly moan. Every one should try this steak at least once in their life. We will definitely be back. I only had one complaint they were hosting an event so there is very little parking here. But overall an enjoyable night. read more

People were coming and going yelling and screaming while walking in and out of a large party table. We asked our waiter if we could move to a farther table and we witnessed him walk to the manager/possible owner (based on the entitlement look on his face), looked our way and rolled his eyes out of his head and said something along the lines of "F@%#@ off", we did eventually move but we were shocked of how he berated the server and disrespected us. The food was too cold to make it through the entire dining experience. 4. I had the Meatloaf and Mash. The peas were too hard and cold. The potatoes were a bit dry and too cold. The sweet tomato sauce was too scarce to share between the mash and meat. The service was good though. We have given this place three or four chances. The most recent was this past Thursday evening at their monthly "supper club" event which featured a tasting menu centered around figs. The value for what you receive was ridiculous. The portions were minuscule and the quality was fair at best. Previous to this we found the quality of the food to be subpar. So, I've ordered from this place a dozen times. And it's always tasty. The Cuban panini is pretty awesome and I always suggest polenta fries. Because come on, polenta AND fries. Today I and friends were ordering dinner and I had a really bad day and just wanted a Cuban sandwich. I told them we needed ketchup for a small army and to include a doodle because I had a really bad day at work. I work in an auto claims center. Bad days mean someone got hurt very badly, and usually means I was unable to help. This hero, this nameless Hercules, drew a doodle on every single container because I had a bad day. I had high expectations for Zinna's because my bridal shower was hosted here and we had a great time. However, I recently went here for dinner and it was less than stellar. The good: our server was friendly and attentive. We had polenta fries, calamari, and the goat salad as appetizers. All tasted great. The bad: My mother and I ordered the Chicken Eduardo which is advertised as having "jumbo lump crabmeat." This is completely false - there was a sprinkling of crab on top of the dish that we could barely see. I hate to say it but it seems like they describe it this way just so they can raise the price on a chicken dish. My sister had spaghetti carbonara that looked great but was seriously lacking in flavor. It almost seemed as if salt, pepper, and other seasoning was just completely left out. I was very disappointed in this dinner but had a good experience at my bridal shower so I will try the restaurant again and hope that this was a fluke. read more

So I came here today with some clients and was so happy to get a spot so last minute. Before being seated we seen a group of people who wanted to be seated outside and even with it being busy they somehow made it work, great service! As for the meal, our server was Zach (insanely handsome guy) he was really sweet and attentive which was great. We ordered the calamari for a starter which I will admit was a little on the bland side so I'd probably get something else. Then for dinner I had the pesto pasta which again wasn't the most flavourful but was delish! I'm actually eatting the leftovers as a write this XP, and for desert I ordered the pumpkin spice gelato....oh my goodness, if greatness was ever put into a glass, it was then. Sooo friggin good. I wanted to order a gallon for home. So yesss try that! All in all, I think this place is a great spot for dinner. We have been patrons of Zinna's Restaurant for many years with positive experiences until this last occasion. While the food was acceptable, if at a relatively high price, the service was disappointing, if not terrible. The reason for this statement is based on the fact (among other instances), that I had to stand up and go to the front of the restaurant to ask for utensils (removed with the appetizer plates) after trying in vain to get the attention of our server. Moreover, we ordered an additional breadbasket (the first is included as part of the welcome, additional servings cost $3 as explained by the server - Amania) which never arrived. The couple at our neighboring table observed this last fact and offered us some of their "welcome" bread rolls, which we appreciated and later notified the server of this generous action. After the bill arrived and was processed using our credit card (with a 3.5% charge for using a card), I noticed that we were charged for the breadbasket that never arrived. I finally located the waitress (who had changed out of her uniform) just outside the kitchen, who not only refused to correct the bill - noting that "you were charged for your neighbor's bread" - but in a very condescending manner, pulled out a small number of bills, pushed them on the counter and stated, "If you want the $3, here have it and leave me alone". The server walked over immediately to the manager of the restaurant. I refused the cash and asked another server to speak to the manager - whom I believe is the chef/owner's spouse. After conferring with our server, the manager greeted me at the kitchen entrance with a very aggressive "Hello, first of all get out of my kitchen". I moved the front of my foot, to where my heel was located, as my body was outside the kitchen line. The manager stated that if she were to cancel and correct the bill, a pending charge would be levied on my card which would take a long time to resolve - a statement which I took as a threat to mess with my credit card. Since the better part of valor is discretion, further discussion would serve no purpose, we left the establishment vowing never to return. read more

The Staff was very nice and all practicing safe distance and mask protocol. I ordered the pretzel chicken. Very dry. The pretzel coating overwhelmed the Chicken and was just a bit over done. The Ma's meatball appetizer I had to use a knife to cut into my meatballs. Very solid meatballs and a touch to much salt for my taste. My husband and I love this place. The food is always on point and delicious and the outside patio is such a nice place to sit and drink a bottle of wine. This is a great BYOB and I can't say enough great things. The owners are so down to earth and friendly plus the staff is great. We were there last weekend and had Tia.
