First visit and my husband stopped in while running errands. We didn't realize there is a limited Take Out Menu. After selecting a couple of dishes, Spaghetti and Garlic Bread, and Korean Fried Chicken, we tried a little of each. Spaghetti was average flavor, but had a good serving size and garlic bread was toasted nicely with lots of garlic. Zippy's was a favorite place to go back in the day in Oahu. This is the 2nd time for me to visit a Zippy's in Vegas. I've been to the one on Rainbow and this visit, in Henderson. The Rainbow location was SUPER busy and maybe because it was Memorial holiday. I preferred our visit in Henderson since it was mellow and laid back. There were a couple of big families dining. The dining area itself is spacious, bright and clean. Their bathrooms were also clean. Staff were friendly and quick. My Korean fried chicken was soooo good. We also had dessert. We tried the zip pac deluxe, Portuguese sausage, saimin (filipino influences), and chili moco. All delicious, but I really liked the clear clean broth soup of the saimin! Perfect with the Chinese veggies, egg, onions & char siu pork. Even on a hot day, it was so good! The refillable lilikoi drink & orange bang were refreshing & addictingly just the right amount of sweet. The DESSERTS & PASTRIES! OMGG. Loved the dobash cake! Chocolate pudding cake, to me was not that sweet. I liked it a lot! Hubby loved their food too. The ones I took home were so sooo good even the next day. It was very unexpected. We checked out Zippy's when they first came to town, but now we have this location right down the street from us. It's a big new build restaurant with a modern design that is bright & clean inside. We arrived around 10pm on a Wednesday and The service was definitely a bit slow. Once we ordered the food came out in a timely manner and it was hot & fresh. My wife specifically asked me to stop here and pick up dessert, and based on my past experiences with Zippy's, I was fine making the trip. I drove out of my way to visit this location because it is close to where we live. When my daughters and I walked in, the host asked whether we were dining in or ordering takeout. I told her we were there for takeout from the bakery. There was no greeting, no welcome, and no "someone will be right with you." We waited about five minutes and received no help. One employee was off to the side with his face buried in his phone instead of attending the takeout register. Another employee in the kitchen looked directly at us, then looked away without saying anything. The dining area only had about three occupied tables, so it did not appear busy enough to justify the lack of service or acknowledgment. Eventually, my daughters and I walked out. Full disclosure, I had no idea what zippies was. I made up a story in my head that it was pretty much a different kind of Denny's. I was absolutely wrong. Think of this place as a high-end Hawaiian barbecue place. Looking at the menu they have great items to eat. Pretty much the same thing that you would find on a wine barbecue menu, except upscale. I opted for the Korean fried Chicken which came on a plate with two scoop rice and one scoop. Mac salad. Okay, I got to tell you, the Mac salad is absolutely off the chart! I don't normally go from Mac salad but when I'm at a Hawaiian barbecue place I absolutely am all about it. My girlfriend had the chicken katsu which also came with two scoop rice, one scoop, Mac salad. And a really great katsie sauce. It too was very delicious, crunchy and hot as it should be. The service was okay, it wasn't spectacular. It was just okay. On the way out, you have to stop at the bakery section. Just looking through the glass of those cakes. I probably gained 30 lb. But I'll tell you what. We couldn't help but take a few of the pastries home with us. Everything there is amazing. They have a good loyalty club which gives you points for every dollar you spend and you get a free chili and rice just for signing up. Zippy's and you like one barbecue food in an upscale fashion. We have ordered from Zippy's for delivery before, but we finally decided to try an in person visit when we were near Henderson. I know it can be very busy, but it was quiet when we visited on this Monday evening. We were seated right away, and they have a large dining room with booth and table seating. Everything looked clean and well-kept. Our server was quite friendly and attentive, and soft drinks were frequently refilled. I had the "chili moco" which is basically the loco moco with some of their famous chili (with beans or sans beans - your choice). This features two eggs cooked how you want them, chili, two hamburger patties, and gravy all atop rice. It also includes macaroni salad on the side. It is a very hearty (and tasty!) meal. The patties were hot and tasty and not greasy. The sauce and chili were both delicious. I could finish all the rice as I filled up on the other items. The macaroni salad was tasty as well if a bit on the salty side. I opted for the "complete meal" upgrade for about $11 extra which includes soup or salad, soft drink, Hawaiian dinner roll, and dessert of your choice. The salad was very basic but tasted fresh. The roll was basically a warm King's Hawaiian roll which was fresh and tasty. It was warmed in a microwave, however, so it really didn't have any crispiness or crunchiness. They only had a few different cakes and pies to choose from - I had hoped for a chocolate choice but none were available. We finally got a chance to try Zippy's and were excited that the Eastern location is now open because we live closer to that location. Zippy's has always been talked up as the best Hawaiian food in town, so I was excited to try their garlic chicken. I compared it to Lefty J's since that's our usual Hawaiian food spot, and sadly it did not compare in my opinion. We opted for the takeout since it had been a long day, and it was raining. We ordered the chicken trio, the Korean fried chicken and chili, the chili with rice, an extra mac salad, and we ordered some pastries since those were also raved about. After waiting for our order, we ran to the car to get away from the rain and headed home. A HUGE letdown to find out that our napple and glazed mochizada did not make it into our order, a letdown for the restaurant and for us since we did not check our bag before leaving. I wasn't expecting perfection, especially since the food was sitting in covered containers, so we expected some of the food to lose its structure, crunch, etc. However, our chicken tasted like it had been sitting in the warmer, and the glaze wasn't really on the chicken, it was bland. The fried chicken was also not tasty- and was oily. The macaroni salad was salty, and I could not finish it, so we could not finish our food and could not tell you about the pastries since we did not get them. The chili was decent, but if you order the chili rice, you get about a 4-6-ounce scoop of white rice, and a heaping serving of chili- but the rice portion is more than the chili you get in the bowl. Not sure if this location was just having an off day, or maybe they were having issues since they're fairly new to the area; and they might need more training for their plates- but unfortunately for me, I am not looking or thinking of revisiting. My husband called them and let them know we were missing the pastries, but it still took a while for the manager to call back since they were busy for us to get a refund. The manager did apologize and offered the refund and said they'd mail some coupons for us to try again. In my personal opinion, I will stick with my Lefty J's. Maybe their other Zippy's location is better since that's where our friends go, but if I'm in the area and I have a choice between the eastern's Zippy's or Lefty's, Zippy's wouldn't be my first choice. read more

The left side of the restaurant is pick up to go or order and eat at a first come first serve seating. The service was quick and it was pretty crowded and lively the day we went since it just opened. How lucky are we to have a third ZIPPY'S location in Las Vegas?? Thrilled to have Zippy's in our neighborhood: Silverado Ranch (Henderson). It's located just off of the I-215 & Eastern Ave and it's open until midnight 7 days a week!! Sweet!! Our party of 4 visited one day after Grand Opening Day, Wednesday, Sept 10th. We checked in at 6:30pm and the wait time was ~25 minutes. The menu is vibrant and has all the good stuff listed like Zip Pacs, Monthly & Daily specials, noodles, chili, burgers, and desserts! We noticed the Korean Fried Chicken & Chili Mixed Plate was on Special for $11.99 from Sept 8 - Oct 4th, so we ordered three plates! Hehe! I am a huge fan of their Vegetarian Chili and enjoy eating it with their grilled cornbread. My nephew decided to be different and ordered the Zip Min, which had an absolute wonderful aroma that took be back to my days in Honolulu. Ahhhh!! Add the Lilikoi drink and we were happy campers!! We did take out for a couple of birthday people - just cakes; chocolate haupia and the dobash cake. So ono and filled with fillings. When you order cakes on the app you have to pick it up right away. I thought that we needed to give advance time but instead your order will spoil and they will have to toss it. So be mindful or call the restaurant so that they know your intentions. Normally the cake goes into a locker and you're given a code to open it. It's always a pleasure to come in and see all the local people from Hawaii. read more
