    Super Quesadilla

Greatest quesadillas we've ever had! Delicious, juicy, flavorful carne asada combined with pleasant and fast service. Wish we discovered this place earlier into our trip because we would have come back multiple times. Both the green and red sauce were well balanced and so good. We shared the quesadilla and the waiter also brought out chips and offered us an extra plate because we were sharing the quesadilla. A must stop go to if looking for Mexican in the Castro!

I'd say this is a solid 4/5 based on their burritos and excellent customer service. The team here is always hospitable and friendly, which makes every visit enjoyable. Their indoor dining space is spacious and clean too! Their burrito is my go-to and definitely worth sticking with. Today I tried the red chicken enchiladas, and while they were okay, the sauce leaned more toward a mole-style flavor rather than the tangy, spice-forward enchilada sauce I usually prefer. I'll continue coming here for their steak burritos, but I'll grab my enchiladas elsewhere. Overall, I wish the rice and some of the other dishes had a bit more flavor to push this to five stars, but I love that they always give free chips and salsa, it's a nice touch!

I met up a friend at this place after work, but chose a day that missed the happy hour specials. Darn! But no matter i ordered their popular Plate that the cashier owner told me about and my friend ordered two tacos . It's a nice cozy casual restaurant you can just sit back the relax in to chat and never felt rushed. We ended up talking to the owner who is very nice. This restaurant used to be in the Haight District and later moved here in the Castro. I consider this a hidden gem. My friend and I pass it by every day and never thought of stopping in. Food is excellent family recipes I believe. Yummy in my tummy, as food is excellent and very flavorful and my friend agrees with the tacos. I really have to come back for happy hour.

Finally I found a place with good Mexican food in SF!!! I have been searching for so long. I came for a smog check and was walking around and saw this place. The reviews were great so I decided to try it out. It is soooooooo good. The tacos are huge. Like double the size of a regular street taco and is so stuffed. I ate two chignon and was so full. And then I got a burrito and enchilada to go haha. 10/10. So good.

    Not so happy hour.

I've been here a few times and the food is good. The latest time I was here for an unexpected happy hour. $3 street tacos! Woo hoo! I got 2 carnitas tacos for take out (and a handful of free chips which was nice!) But when I got home and bit into my first savory taco, I see I got the fattiest pieces of meat. I guess this might be wonderful if the fat was soft and melty. But it wasn't. So I had to dissect my food to remove the fatty bits. Bummer.

walking on market and grabbed a quick bite to eat here. The staff is super helpful and the service was great. I got a regular carnitas quesadilla for $11 that came with chips, water, and salsa for free. They brought everything out to me and cleaned up my table. chill vibe, good food for good prices

Jefe Tacos (asada, el pastor) are only $3 apiece on Tuesdays

Having recently headed to the Mission District for tacos I was surprised by some of the prices. A small 2-taco order was easily $10 if not more. This made Zona Rosa a slam dunk. I walked by on Taco Tuesday and noticed that street tacos (what they call "Jefe Tacos"; normally $5 apiece) were a very reasonable $3. Opting for a carne asada and an el pastor Jefe Taco I was easily able to assess how these compared to their counterparts recently enjoyed at the Mission's Taqueria Vallarta: * Both el pastor and carne asada taco (meats and fillings) were equivalent in flavor. Both good and enjoyable. * With the Taco Tuesday deal, Zona Rosa tacos are the far better deal ($6 vs $10 for 2). * The tortillas at Taqueria Vallarta are better. Both places use two tortillas per taco. * Now here's where Zona dosa really shines: Though you order at Zona Rosa's counter you're served at your table. The server, who also manned the register, brought chips (free of charge), salsas (in squirt bottles, but good), and iced water. I felt like I was actually serviced and that's not what I found in the Mission (or,for that matter, at very many other places these days). Chances of a Tuesday return to Zona Rosa (which also offers other Taco Tuesday deals) are strong.

Really wanted to like this place because the service was nice but it's truly just average. Free chips but they were cold and kind of stale. I got the enchilada plate with chicken in mole sauce. The sauce was bland as well as the rice. The refried beans tasted like they came straight out a can. You have to walk through the kitchen if you need to use the restroom which seems a bit unsanitary. Cute little place but subpar food.

Walked into this establishment to find one of the owners Alex who helped me to make an informed decision. He mentioned it's a family owned restaurant with his grandparents still preparing food. How cool. I will return.

The service and employees go above and beyond! They were super sweet, and there were chips and pico for free! There was too much hot sauce on the tacos I got, and they remade 2 of them for me without the sauce. I wanted to love the food equally as much, but I was a little underwhelmed by the Jefe tacos. The meat was quite dry, and I tried both the carnitas and asada. I felt like everything was a bit lacking in flavor, pico included.

Very happy Zona Rosa is back open after a short remodel. The En El Mar burrito is outstanding as are the service and the people.

Normally that's when I question my patience... but when a line is wrapped around the building before lunch even starts you know something serious is happening. Spoiler: it was worth it. We ordered the carne asada tacos and the asada burrito. The tacos were packed with flavor and loaded up. I had a hard time holding my one taco and gracefully eating it. I thought the tacos were good then I tried the asada burrito... I only had a few bites and it stole the show for me. I'm still thinking about it, which feels a little dramatic but honestly, that burrito earned the attention. It was that good. Every staff member I interacted with was also incredibly kind. They managed the flow of people well and I didn't feel rushed at all while dining in. Overall 10/10. The hype is real it. The line is long, but it moves and the food absolutely delivers.

They have limited seating to I recommend taking the burritos to a nearby park and eat. Got 2 super tacos. 1 carne asada/ 1 carnitas, apparently the carnitas was the best in the tacos. I got a super burritos toasted with carne asada. One was spicy and the other was not spicy. It was labeled as spicy but they both had the exact spice level? I'm not sure if they forgot to put hot sauce or if it just isn't too spicy. Either way wish they had spicier hot sauces available either in packets or at the tables since the green salsa isn't too hot. These burritos were very delicious. I loved how you get an option to toast them or not. Because there is no rice, it makes the burrito easy to eat and you dont feel too sick after which is problem I come across burritos often. Definitely a must try!
