If you eat outside it is like being in a secret garden. The atmosphere is lovely. A great place to sip a cold beer or cocktail. The bartender is very good. We went for lunch on a slow day, and they were delivered personally by the bartender. Service was extremely friendly. Food was good too, just high prices and very small portions. The menu changes regularly and the ingredients are always fresh for this reason. But back to the portions, honestly they were so small my friend and I were talking about where we were going to eat next as we were finishing lunch here. read more

Some of the worst customer service we have ever experienced. We made reservations for 730. When we arrived, there was no one available to seat us. One guy with a beard, who was extremely rude and dismissive, didn't really seem to care much. After arguing with him for a minute, he said they have tables inside. We went inside, only to find ourselves standing in the middle of the place while this rude guy kept walking past us and telling us to get out of his way. We were staring at three empty tables and the time was approaching 8 pm. The guy didn't seem to care. There was no one else available to seat us. Meanwhile, this guy continued to be rude. We decided to leave and made it them know their service was awful. The guy , who is apparently the manager, said "thank you!" Won't even try to go back. read more

This place is very quaint and the atmosphere is nice for a summer night. The food was good but I do think that it was overpriced. As a person native to that area and an enjoyer/eater of good food - I have got to say that some of the entrees were not worth $35 that the place is asking for. I might pay that for a nice cut of steak, or for some really fantastic-not-normally-served special, but not for a crab cake or a simple filet of white fish. Knock some of those entrees down in the $25-$28 dollar range and it would make more sense. Overall, a nice experience but way over the top prices. It ended up being a $600 something bill (with tip) split between 7 people. My white fish plate and 2 glasses of wine was not worth the hundred-ish dollars. Just an FYI. read more

I have worked in the restaurant industry for years. What I experienced at this place is something I have a hard time wrapping my brain around. My friends and I had taken a daytrip to New Hope and were checking out restaurant menus before deciding on where to have dinner. The MD intercepted us as we were heading down the walkway toward the front door. After sizing us up, he asked if he could help us. We told him we'd like to see a menu. He told us that "this place is expensive" and that there were other places to eat nearby. We were dressed presentably, but apparently, this man did not wish to serve the likes of us. I could not believe his audactiy. Apparently, our money is not as good as others, and as angry as his statement made me, I'm glad he turned us away because it prevented us from supporting him. read more

Went for restaurant week and food was amazing. The coconut cake was out of this world.

We stopped here for drinks and appetizers on a gorgeous summer evening in New Hope. I loved the fresh fruit infused martinis and while they looked a bit "girly" my boyfriend ordered a Watermelon and then a Mango. They were really fresh and bright for summer. For appetizers, we ordered the cheese plate and the tuna tartar. I really liked the tuna, but wasn't anything that blew me away. We LOVED the cheese plate but the waitress never told us what cheese we got. Normally I don't like when waiters auction off the food but its nice to have a short description, especially with a "mixto" course. I would go back again and sit in the garden for dinner next time. read more

They're are some snotty, expectant people on here that think that because they pay for a nice meal, they should be treated like royalty. Shut your face. You're not that special. The only thing I will add... They asked very often how everything was... Not a bad thing. They were very insistent that we be pleased with our meal. Must be all the whining reviewers on here. Food/Price: 4.5 stars. Expensive but to be expected... And I'd pay it again. I had the three course meal starting with the Brie Radicchio appetizer. That was a 3 in my opinion. She's a keeper though so it's okay. Plates were well garnished and appealing to the eye. Their bread was good. 3.5 stars on the bread scale. I am a bread connoisseur so I know what to expect out of top notch bread. Not the best but not bad. On to the main course... My main course. Beef Cheeks Bourguignoise. 5 damn stars. You bet. Off the chain. Off the hook... Off the hook and to the moon! Sooooooooo damn good. Meat was cooked perfectly. Just enough fat to be flavorful and juicy. The potatoes au gratin were delicious, petite, and not too heavy. Asparagus and a carrot as well. Beautiful looking plate. My date had a shrimp risotto dish that looked good. I'll update my review when I get her feedback. Ok. Now on to the dessert... Bread pudding made with Nina's waffles from up the street. 5 stars. I'd give it more stars if that were possible. My date and I were making noise at how good this was. I think my leg was shaking like a dog's leg does when their belly is scratched. Might as well have been convulsing. Portion size on my entree could have been just a tad bigger... Perhaps because I'm such a carnivore. And the meat was really that good. Portion size gets a 4. Drinks: 4 stars. Wine selection was nice. I was feeling good after two glasses and I'm a solid 210lbs. My date popped off two rum and cokes, and she looked like she was holding up better than me. Probably could have used a little more "UMPH!" in those drinks but neither one of us are the type to ever complain unless something is wretched or deplorable. All in all... A solid 4. 4.5 if that were possible on yelp. Definitely would return again... Especially to try the escargot. My date made a face about that one! What can I say? I'm adventurous! To all the snobs and haters: Write a review in this format. Your rants can't be taken seriously without substance! Get off your high horse... It's fine dining. my favorite aspect of this place is the setting. indoors is very intimate, white tablecloths + candles, and outdoors is set up to make you forget you're in the US: candles mounted into stonework walls, lots of vines, tucked away from sidewalk traffic and out of sight of other shops. the menu is heavily seafood- everything from octopus to calamari to jumbo shrimp for appetizers, and bass to a giant crabcake to red snapper for entrees. for non seafoodies, there's ribeye, lamp lollipops, and duckling. pretty high quality food, which it better be b/c entrees start at $30, but for me, the ambiance is what sets this place apart from others. street parking can be difficult; meters run until 9pm. read more

Zoubi's is a little place tucked in the back right off Mechanic street. It is actually pretty quintessential New Hope when you think about it. Small, eclectic, and solid food. They have a wide variety of cocktails on the menu. All of them are really good. Service was really good as well. We split the steak (which by the way is much bigger than it looks) which was fantastic. My only recommendation is to stay away from the cheese plate because it is a bit of a rip off, otherwise you are pretty much good to go on anything else. read more

This was our fifth visit to Zoubi, and probably our last unless we hear management has turned over. Our first time at this restaurant after having lived in Solebury for the past 15 years. Sat outside on a beautiful Friday evening - we didn't have a reservation but they found a great table for us with no wait. Speciality cocktails were refreshing and tasty. For appetizers we had the oysters and seafood salad - both great dishes. Dinner was a delicious seared tuna over Japanese noodles for me and mushroom stuffed ravioli for my husband. Last night my husband and I were able to experience dining at this gem of a spot. It was my birthday and after a long day at work, we decided to go out for dinner to celebrate. We were kid free, so we took a chance to explore the familiar streets of New Hope, hoping to find a romantic spot that was adult friendly. I've been to other places on Mechanic Street, and I knew that's where I wanted to be, in search of a hidden place with a sexy vibe that would offer that "romantic getaway" feel. And that is exactly what we found. The place next door had live music, but it was a bit too loud and hubby wanted something that was more low key so we kept walking and walked right into perfection. Upon entering, what seemed like a secret garden, the music was enchanting and the idea of handcrafted cocktails danced in our heads as we were greeted by the owner. He sat us in a perfect spot, where we had a great view. The decor was inspiring and made us feel relaxed and at home. Our cocktails were delicious and exactly what we were looking for, offering familiar taste with a slight twist. The bar would be a great place to meet up with a friend, or with hubby and have appetizers and cocktails, which I will have to do one day. The food was phenomenal. Tasty and wonderful presentation. I had fish and hubby had lamb. I did not take pictures because I just wanted to be in the moment. A photographer friend of mine once said, some images should be left for memories. Not everything needs to be photographed. I leave this lengthy review in hopes of sharing my experience where someone may come across it and be convinced to come to this place and enjoy it as we have. However, next time I go back, I may just have to take pictures, although I am not sure I will be able to capture its true beauty. read more

I would give Zoubi 3 stars (of 5) rather than 2 but its food disappointed when the atmosphere was charming. We were there August 31st, a Saturday night. Service was good, the food, not so good. The ragout of wild mushrooms was fairly tasteless (perhaps a touch of garlic, certainly not "wild"). The boneless sirloin was, well what should one expect from 16 ounces of sirloin? It was horrible. Not a bite out of the half of it we tried that was not stringy and full of gristle. On first appearance, before taking a bite, when the server delivered it I questioned it. He took it away under the light and returned deeming it "a fine cut of meat." A better steak was not a menu option. But then, like thinking one might order a 16 oz sirloin for $34, what were we thinking having any expectation of good food in New Hope? read more

The two stars are for the quiet little nook we shared with friends on a recent Saturday night. Unfortunately, that was the best part of our meal. The crab cake---you get ONE (for $35)---and the Chilean sea bass were bland, unexceptional, and left us hungry. A side order of mushrooms---at $14---was similarly meager, but tasty. The bread was also just average. Service was friendly but erratic,e.g., the waitress forgot our companion's soup order. We got married on May 7, 2016 in Newtown PA. We found Zoubi Lounge and thought it would be perfect for our rehearsal dinner. We literally walked around New Hope all day looking for a venue that we liked. Zoubi was just so cool. It had a great outdoor patio space, an indoor, outdoor bar and cozy dining room inside. The owner and chef were amazing. They helped us work within our budget and even built a menu based on what seasonal items were available. Come the day of our rehearsal, the weather was not good. Without missing a beat, they moved our event inside. The food was tremendous, the staff was extremely accommodating and the whole night was a success. We have our favorite spot in New Hope. I wanted a lemonade like drink- Jake made me a strawberry basil vodka concoction that was perfect! He also makes an A+ old fashioned, according to my partner. This was the best place we could have picked to have dinner after a socially distanced zoom style wedding in a global pandemic! The atmosphere is romantic, unique and SAFE! They had ample heating between the lamps and fire pit. The service was impeccable. The owner surprised us with champagne and the waitress Jackie was wonderful. The restaurant reminds me of a building that was bombed out during WW2 and forgotten, unless someone came in and found a way to make it beautiful. It has a partial tin looking roof and strings of white lights. On the wall homemade spices are growing in little pots. I had the lamb and my husband had the tuna steak. Both great. The cheese plate was also excellent. The truffle honey had the perfect amount of truffle so as not to overpower the pallet. The cocktails were also good. We felt so safe and it was great to eat out in style for the first time since the pandemic began. Help keep this business going and pay them a visit! read more

The ambiance is really amazing and I think that is really the only reason to go to Zoubi's, since the food was pretty bad. Our entrees were brought out only about 10 minutes after we ordered. Both entrees were cold, unappealing and really overpriced. We shared a side of crab mashed potatoes, which were very good and salvaged the meal. My husband and I were visiting new hope for the evening. We were very excited to try this restaurant as the reviews we read were great. When we walked in we were greeted rather nicely and given an option of two tables. The waitress came over rather quickly to get our drink orders which was nice. She had also told us that one of the dinner entrées was no longer available. I found this rather strange given the limited menu. We started with the tuna tartare which was very good. Although we were missing something crunchy to go along with it. And then for dinner I ordered the braised short ribs and shrimp. The plating was not impressive. The short ribs were tasty however, I couldn't eat the shrimp. I am not sure if it was because it was towards the end of the night, but my shrimp was so overcooked I could not get it out of the shell. So my shrimp ended up staying on my plate. This was pretty disappointing considering they were out of what I was going to order / Chilean sea bass. Needless to say, when we visit new hope again this is not a restaurant we will be going back to. read more

Had a delicious dinner and overall delightful experience at Zoubi. Sat outside overlooking the gorgeous stone patio. Appreciated the outdoor heaters to take away the chill on a cool evening. It was the end of the busy Pride weekend in late May, but the staff was warm and welcoming as if it were opening night. Our server Harris was impressively personable and accommodating with a few special requests by our party of six. I would highly recommend Zoubi, particularly the Brussel sprouts and Key Lime pie! read more

We did not even make it into the door! We were a party of three, well dressed and in our late twenties. We walked through the alleyway that is not well marked as to where to go to enter the restaurant in the wintertime. The eldest of the owners (with the french accent) came into the same alleyway from a door to the left and asked us what we were looking for. When I said we were interested in a menu, he told us to go next door because his restaurant was "expensive for dinner." We all looked at each other then back at him, aghast, and he laughed at us! Obviously, during a recession, any money is not good enough for this elitist restaurant. They would prefer that we riffraff stay out of his already empty restaurant. Also? Upon doing research after returning home...they also own the bar next door! Thankfully, we did not take his advice, and will never return to either establishment, and advise our friends (who frequent New Hope) to do the same. Bad move, old man. read more
