The food here is so mediocre and the service was slow and subpar. For the price I would have been better off cooking breakfast myself. COFFEE ($3.50) - The coffee comes with a side of creamer and the sugar packets were already available on the table. It would be nice if they actually came by to refill the coffee without us waiving them down for it. BLOODY MARY ($9.25) - The only item that I somewhat enjoyed. The bloody mary itself was savory just with a kick of spice, but the size was definitely small. It needs a celery, two olives and some bacon to be optimal. ZOV's COMBINATION ($13.95) - My friend substituted the two pancakes for a bagel. It also came with 2 farm fresh eggs cooked to your liking, 2 chicken sausages and a crispy hashbrown cake. It was a lot of food, but nothing worth praising. Oh wait, it came with some fruit that was nice... FRITTATA ($11.95) - This open faced omelet was on the bland side. Bell peppers, tomatoes, basil and mozzarella are usually some of my favorite ingredients but somehow they flavors just fails. I sprinkled much pepper onto this frittata to make it less bland. The hashbrown cake was okay... and the fruit was probably the tastiest thing on this dish as well. APPLEWOOD SMOKED BACON ($3.95 for a side order) - Three small pathetic looking pieces of salty disappoint bacon. I love bacon but wowwwwww... I should have just walked over to pavilions and buy myself a whole package of bacon. So basically a 3-star meal where they took forever to take my order, forever to bring me my check, forever to process my payment.... and forever to bring it back... She proceeded to take the couple's order sitting right next to us and the couple that sat down after us down the bar. 3.5 Stars!! My co-worker's birthday was this last week and we all made our way to Zov's for her celebratory lunch. THE MOOD: Zov's is located in a discreet plaza located right next to the Orchard Hills Apartment Community. There is nice shaded patio seating for hot days. The interior also feels clean and bright. My co-workers have been here before and for some reason, the way they always talked about it made me think that Zov's was more appropriate for dinner. However, it is suited more for lunch as it has a more casual sit down feel. THE 'TUDE: The staff and manager were extremely nice and accommodating to our whole group. The manager came by regularly to check on us, brought out a birthday dessert for my co-worker, and walked us all out while thanking us for our visit. The only thing I would have to say is probably more staff training on the menu items. I asked one of our waiters which one out of two dishes tasted better and they informed me that they did not know because they haven't tried any of the items on the menu (yikes!). THE FOOD: Our table shared some appetizers (Nachos and Hummus) and I got the Chicken Kebob. The chicken in the nachos were perfectly grilled and there was a nice cheesy glaze over the pita-like chips. The hummus was also equally as tasty and I liked that the pita bread came out warm and chewy. Although work was paying (yay!), I still felt like my Chicken Kebob was a bit overpriced at $18.95. The chicken was tasty and grilled perfectly; however, for the portion and very laid back vibe of the restaurant, it would have been more justified if it were a few dollars cheaper. I also got a bite of the Mac and Cheese and it was absolutely dreamy, creamy, delicious heaven! Of course not all on the same day :P Breakfast: When I want to splurge on calories I usually get: - Zov's Combination Breakfast it comes with pancakes, eggs, bacon or sausage and my favorite hash brown cake. Ugh, I love it so much! I have also tried the Oatmeal Brulee. I feel like anything that says oatmeal is kinda healthy right?? Well, this taste like a dessert. I absolutely love it! Lunch: - Balsamic Chicken Club Yummy yummy in my tummy!!! Comes with avocado and bacon and anything with bacon on a sandwich tastes amazing to me. Dinner: We dined here last night. :) - Seared Salmon Very tasty and fish prepared very well - Rosemary Turkey Dip Probably my husband's favorite sandwich here at Zov's. The reviews for this restaurant are funny. One fella has complained, and listed his complaints, about a wait time of 45 min for food. That's actually pretty normal. He also wrote that he disliked that the staff forgot about his birthday lol. Seriously, a 50 whatever year old dude didn't like that his birthday wasn't celebrated. Incredible. This got Zov's 1/5 stars from Mr. Birthday. Another person complained that her eggs weren't cooked when they came. Ok, legit complaint. She admitted that she told the waiter who took the food back, got another new dish with cooked eggs, and returned. This earned the entire restaurant 2/5 stars. Come now people, was it that bad of an experience? There's a third weird review about some of the workers at the place mixing up their to-go order. Like this never happens. Hey lady, people mix up bags all the time. It's happened to me a couple times, no big deal. You're in a world where bags move that shouldn't. On a similar note, a fella who was waiting for his to-go order and was informed that he could sit at a table while he waited but was later informed that the table was reserved so he had to move. Here's an idea, rather than give the restaurant 1/5 stars for this very very minor inconvenience, walk yourself two steps over to the other table, get your food, forget this whatever moment, and go enjoy time with your family. Maybe realize how awesome it is to be alive, help a neighbor, negotiate with your feelings of disappointment, and leave. Genius I know. Maybe instead of sinking the reputation of the entire enterprise with a permanent review, you just add a slice of humanity to the mix and see how you feel. The scenery and ambience bring up this location substantially. It's awesome. It is open with big doors to a patio, has live music (!) sometimes, great furniture, is quiet, has a cool looking bar, etc etc. The shopping center it's located in is beautiful. All of these things cost the restaurant money, and it's clearly a priority. They get at least a star for that. The staff are great. They're employees of a business that is trying to make money and labor is a big cost, all businesses are trying to decrease pay to their employees so everyone is under some stress. They do what they're paid to do, they make mistakes, and that's being human. No biggie, waiters, waitresses, baristas, etc are doing great. read more

I went a couple times for happy hour. Their happy hour food menu is pretty good. They have outdoor seating for those who don't feel comfortable sitting indoors. The only down side for sitting out is that flies are inevitable. So you'd have to constantly fly them away from your food. I recommend the eggplant fries, sliders, and skewer. 5 stars - Waitress Hannah asked which seat I would like. I had made this reservation 15 months in advance because it was my first time in America and my uncle's nephew said this was his all time favorite restaurant. There was only 1 table I was interested in. Hannah said I must wait 15 minutes due to a customer currently sitting there. I happily obliged, but after the 15 minutes were up I insisted the table must be mine. I feel like any restaurant with the word bistro in its name has high aspirations, haha. It was my first time at Zov's and we came because my mom's friend had a coupon. This location is fairly large with both inside and outside seating. The decor is modern and very sleek, with large curved wooden beams and various hanging lanterns. Service was solid and attentive, and our waitress Brittany also had a trainee with her today. The menu isn't huge but there is a good selection of dishes, and there was a small supplemental menu with seasonal dishes too. We ended up ordering two entrees and two starters and shared everything. The complimentary bread is nice and warm, and served with a really nice spreadable butter as well. The two starters (brussels sprouts and dirty fries) were very generous in portion size for appetizers. The brussels sprouts was probably our dining party's favorite dish. The dirty fries had a lot of tasty ingredients so we thought we'd love it, but it was WAY too salty and we were unable to eat it all. For entrees, we ordered two seasonal dishes: butternut squash ravioli and the beef bowl. The squash ravioli was tasty but the sauce a bit too heavy/rich/creamy for our tastes. The beef bowl was also tasty but perhaps a tad too tart. We definitely ordered too much food and had leftovers. Couple hrs prior the party the supervisor called and informed us he is splitting our table which was fine then he forced us to have the limited menu options which we already said we didn't want that menu 4 days ago .
