Ordered the General Tso because it's pretty hard to screw up, but they sure did. Delivery was 50 minutes, so by the time we got the food back to our hotel room and realized how bad it was, it was too late to get another order. The picture on Yelp shows brown sauce with peppers, pretty standard Gen Tso. The reality was light orange bits of chicken, heavily breaded, with peppers and onions, drowning in so much ginger sauce it was inedible. The brown rice was full of something I could not identify, and the chow mein noodles had no sauce to speak of. About the worst Chinese delivery I've ever had. My husband and I love this place. We found it a couple weeks ago and have now gone 3 times in the last couple weeks! I've had the orange chicken, sweet and sour chicken, and general tso's chicken...all are delicious! My husband always gets the kung pao with chow mein and he loves it. Didn't look like much, but the food was really delicious and the service was good. We got the cream cheese won tons, crispy egg rolls, veggie egg rolls, orange chicken with fried rice, cashew chicken with chow mein, and broccoli beef with steamed rice. So my wife has started getting pickup from a new place in the area that took over the old papa johns slot. Whats funny is it's right next to an other Chinese place. I have to say between the two Z's kitchen is the winner. I'll go as far as to say a couple of the negative reviews seem to be from the competitor lol. I have been working my way down the menu and have not had a whammy yet. I have had the cashew chicken( they did it without celery for me, that stuff is nasty!) the sweet and sour chicken and the generals chicken so far. The real indicator for me that I liked it was when I ate leftovers of the sweet and sour chicken the next day and it was still decent for me seeing as I HATE leftovers. Consistently delicious and a perfect example of saucy, umami filled goodness. I love the mushroom chicken and their tofu dishes are very good too for the vegetarians out there. I'm not a fan of their pepper beef but that's a personal thing and not the fault of the restaurant. We always get takeout and the owner and staff are friendly and polite. read more

I enjoyed the braised pork meals, kung pao chicken, and fried rice. I also like their milk teas - tried both Jasmine Milk Tea and the Brown Sugar Milk Tea - and delivered at that! Portions were all decently sized - I would eat half of a dish for lunch and then have leftovers for dinner. Went here for lunch with my friend. I ordered the fatty pork belly lunch plate with fried rice and got the free cucumber soup with it. The fried rice was so-so; I prefer steamed rice anyway. The fatty pork belly was surprisingly flavorful and tender. It did come with a bunch of fat (I love it!) just like the Vietnamese "tht kho" or the Chinese Dongpo pork but it wasn't too fatty that could give you a heart attack right after eating. The cucumber soup was lacking a bit of seasoning, but it was free so I can't complain. The waitress was polite and brought everything out in well so in overall, I'd come back for lunch. read more

The food seemed bland compared to previous times I've ordered from here. The orange chicken seemed to contain nothing but small, overly-breaded pieces and hardly any meat. The shrimp in the Kung Pao was mealy and gross. Then came the deal breaker....I found two very large yellow hairs in the fried rice container upon opening it up. I've enjoyed my food from here enough in the past to come back, but I will not be ordering from here ever again. Not sure if it's new ownership but something is definitely different. This is my go to place in Orange. The food is good quality and the customer service is great. They delivered the wrong order and when I called they offered me a credit or replacement. That makes me want to recommend them to others because I can tell they want to make their customers happy. I usually get the pepper steak which doesn't disappoint. One thing to note, the side portions of fried rice and chow mein aren't smaller portions of the larger dishes but smaller versions with less meat, veggies, etc. So go with the larger portions for a few dollars more. read more

The tofu was good and flavorful, with a nice gravy and a decent level of spice. I could have used a little more variety in the veggies, but it was still good. Chow mein was just fine.
