You can tell the guy here really enjoys what he does because he's so full of good vibes and made the overall experience feel very welcoming. He even did a few cool magic tricks. Not only is the service good but the food itself is good as well. The stir fried black bean noodles were my favorite because it has more flavor compared to the regular black bean noodles but still good nonetheless. The sweet sour pork was yummy and cripsyyy. I would definitely recommend!

First time eating at Zzamong. I was gonna order something else, that is until I saw they had Sweet and Sour BEEF. Wow, I've never seen anyone anywhere serving beef. Had to order it... for research purposes. I was mind blown. The A1 staff was on it. Food came out super quick. The coating of the beef was completely crispy. There was legit legit meat cuts and it was sooo juicy and tender beef. Portion size was appreciated The sweet and sour sauce was served on the side and get this, it was also served with a little cup of kimchee and a little cup of pickled daikon radish slices. I've had many sweet and sour dishes in my day but this was a completely new experience, and well executed at that. It's a small restaurant and be careful where you park in the lot as this is a small strip mall with a valet. I'll be back with friends to try this dish and others.

Zzamong has been on my list for quite a while, and it's one that's been recommended by my friends for jjajjangmyeon at an affordable price. Quality and affordable it was for jjajangmyeon - easily corrected my initially poor experience trying it in Korea a decade ago (!) Though the parking lot here is small, they have $1 validation, and street parking is plentiful. The gentleman that served us at the time had issues communicating what was in the dish (allergy caution), but all was well. In addition of the amazing jjajangmyeon, we had sweet and sour pork and fried dumplings as part of the combo. The sweet and sour pork were thing and tough, dry even. The fried dumplings were similar, though there was quite a bit of juice on the inside. It erred on the side of a fried wonton exterior and a steamed dumpling interior. Both same with a side of sweet and sour sauce; it was a thick and sweet syrup. Overall, taking price and quality into consideration, this is definitely THE spot for jjajangmyeon - A+!

Zzamong keeps it simple and practical. If you want something hearty, filling, and affordable, it delivers. I got the special jjajangmyeon and it did exactly what I needed it to do. The noodles had that perfect chew, and the black bean sauce was rich but not overwhelming. It felt comforting without being heavy in a bad way--just solid, satisfying food. What stood out to me is how affordable everything is. You can actually eat a full meal here without that "why did I just spend that much" feeling after. The combos and specials make it even more worth it. That said, the extras do add up. It's $2.50 for a fried egg and 50¢ for green onions--and honestly, those feel like they should've come with the meal, especially looking at the combo photos. Just something to keep in mind. Parking around here can be hit or miss, but it's manageable. The lot is $3, and with validation it drops to $1, which is very reasonable for the area. You might also get lucky with street parking--I didn't notice heavy permit restrictions nearby. There's something about this place that feels familiar. It kind of reminds me of what it might feel like eating at someone's home--simple, filling, and made to satisfy. That's really what I like about it here. Overall, good food, fair prices, no stress. I'd come back.

I've been here more times than I could count so I am not sure why I haven't given this place a review or rating. This spot is located in a small plaza with ample parking as well as off-street parking. Most of the time, there is a valet setup outside for $1 if you get it stamped with Zzamong. This place is affordable, always consistent with the taste and quality of their food and customer service is always top notch. My favorite is their Stir-fried Jjajanmyun. It has seafood, noodles are cooked to perfection with the most delicious sauce. I also love their sweet and spicy pork (not pictured) but I love how crunchy and juicy it is. The sauce has the perfect tangy and sweet taste that complements well with the breaded pork. Recently tried their mongolian beef and boiled/steamed pork dumpling which were really good as well. Highly recommend this place!

First time in! We came kind of late and we're going to just order take out but they let us sit down and dine in. The gentleman that greeted us was super friendly and welcoming. He did magic tricks, made jokes and even gave us both little origami things to take. As for food, the portions were very generous and food was great! Loved the crunch of my sweet and sour pork. Inside is small but looks like it can fit a decent amount of people and there's outdoor seating too. My only thing is I wish the sweet and sour sauce was a bit more tangy but that's just my preference. Definitely worth a visit. Especially if you're on a budget. My date and I both ate for like $30 total

Solid spot if you want a filling, cheap fast meal. Decided to check this place out after stumbling upon it on yelp. They have lunch specials with black bean noodles and jjampong. I got the spicy jjampong and my SO got the seafood udon non spicy version. Not bad. Portions are great. I got the combo with the fried pork and dumpling. Didn't really care for those. Just wanted to try it. Probably wouldn't get the combo again, but worth trying. Very filling meal at a cheap and affordable price. Very good value. Service was fine. Bathroom was okay.

It been a min since I last came here but the food always hits and is super yummy! Service is super quick and efficient :)

First time dining here and really enjoyed it. Came here specifically because of the vegan options. The server was very friendly and cracking jokes with us. He was the only server in restaurant and was very efficient moving around to all the tables. The black bean sauce was flavorful and the noodles were perfectly cooked. The fried dumplings and friend pork was a big portion for the combo I got. I ended up taking some of the fried sides home. My partner had the vegan black bean noodles with tofu and was very happy to try this dish for the first time. The total for our meals was less than $30. Definitely give this place a try!

Whenever we find ourselves in the LA area, especially near K-town, and the jjajangmyeon cravings hit, this spot is our go-to. It never disappoints. The staff are always warm and welcoming, with service that's both quick and attentive. There's a cozy, mum&pop charm here that makes every visit feel a bit like coming home, if home served ridiculously good flavours. While jjajangmyeon is the star of the show, the supporting cast holds its own. The jjamppong is bold and comforting, the sweet and sour pork is perfectly crisp and tangy, and there's a shrimp dish (the name escapes me, but the flavor doesn't) that's downright addictive. Whenever friends are visiting from out of town, this is the place we insist on bringing them. Oh, and if you're the daring type, rumour has it they have a spicy challenge that's not for the faint of tongue. Proceed with caution... and maybe a glass of milk.

    Kyle N.

The food was decent, not the greatest jjajangmyeon or tangsuyuk I've had but it scratched the itch and was affordable! Service was also decent but the highlight of the restaurant was that it played a lot of old throwbacks :) would recommend if you wanted something quick!

Solid. What appears to be a bit more run down and hole in the wall has much, much to offer. Friendly service, traditional Chinese Korean food the way you'd expect it, Zzamong really hit the spot when you're craving that jjangmyun or that jjangpong or that tangsuik or whatever else you're craving that falls into that Chinese Korean fusion. While I would say that the jjang may have been a little bit on the saltier side and the jjangpong had good heat to start and could have been a bit spicier, the tangsuik may have been one of the better ones I've had up and down this great state. By the way, our server is a showman, spinning a service tray around and making origami for my little one. Enjoyable. Parking is a validated ($1) valet lot. Zzamong is worth a visit and... repeated visits.

I LOVE ZZAMONG!!!!! The first time I tried the spicy 짜장면 I got a level 6 AND I DIED!!!!! LOL My go to now is level 3. I've ate at the restaurant a couple of times. Once when I went the server did a magic trick and then another time when I went, he made me an origami dog!!!! LOL love that guy he's great I don't think I've tried anything else here besides the 짜장면 but I don't really need anything else. It's the best. Tip when ordering to-go: Get the noodles raw so you have fresh cooked noodles to eat at home later! This is the only place I ever eat the black bean noodles when I eat out.

    R U opening on Thanksgiving day ( 11/24 Thursday )?

Yes we have vegan jjajangmyun. And if you want seafood jjajangmyun but no meat, we can do that as well. Just make sure you let us know ahead of time.

No, they are closed for the 4th.

Are they open on Christmas Day?

Zzamong is not open on Christmas Day as well as New Year's Day

Did something happen to their phone? I can't reach them at all.

From 1 to 10 how good is the jiajangmyun?

South Korea standard wise, it might stand 7~8.5. But LA/US standard, 9.5. This place probably makes the best Jjajang Myun in Koreatown, LA.

What's a good spot to park at for Zzamong for folks that don't valet? The meters around the corner max out at 1 hour.

To be honest I normally go to eat there late since they are open late, closer to 11 pm, because I know the valet is normally gone by then and you can avoid them all together 🙂

Do they have any vegetarian options available?

They have vegetable "dishes" but to know for sure you'd have to talk to the servers or cook. The menu is inconclusive near as I could tell. Dishes that *can* be vegetarian like Mapo Tofu and Jjajangmyun may or may not use meat broths or meat bits.… Read more

Quite large portions, as just about everyone had to take some home. They also have bibimbap if you're craving a rice based meal instead. The restaurant is just down the street from the closest metro station. We were greeted immediately and told to wait while they set up the table. When we got to the table, kimchi and water were already set up! The inside is very bright, with modern light wood furniture and bright tile flooring. The ceilings are pretty high and there is a decent amount of seating. Half of the tables were probably taken around this time and there were a few TVs on playing a live FIFA World Cup game which people were watching. I decided to order the 3 of us: 1. Kalguksu, 17, bibim nengmyun, and 25. Beef bulgogi. Everything was out pretty quickly and everything was delicious. The beef bulgogi was good but nothing too special. Sweet and savory with plenty of onions and served on a hot plate. My dad has been to Korea more than a dozen times and says that this bulgogi isn't close to as good as he's had, but that the noodles were very good. He says this bulgogi could be more Smokey, with a grilled flavor. I've probably had better bulgogi around as well so probably wouldn't come just for it, but it was nice to have a dish with rice in addition to the 2 noodle dishes. The kalguksu was my favorite. Very savory and the broth was so good. The other 2 dishes came with little bowls of extra broth as well. Inside the kalguksu was 3 dumplings (yum), some well seasoned ground meat (yum), and very good al dente noodles (yum). The spicy cold noodles were also good. I typically prefer the cold noodles that come in the slushy broth but my boyfriend prefers this spicy one! It had fresh veggies, a slice of Korean pear, an egg, and a lot of delicious sauce that ended up not being too spicy. The red kimchi was more spicy than the noodles! Overall good food and good service, fast and efficient, no nonsense. Would come again for the noodle dishes which were around $18.

I was worried we'd be stuck waiting for an hour or more for a table but we were seated in less than ten minutes, despite the fact that it was a full house. The menu has an interesting assortment of traditional Italian pastas, Japanese classics, and Japanese-Italian fusion dishes. It's not a huge menu, but is just the right size to have a number of dishes I wish I could've tried all at once. I went with the bacon and mushrooms Japanese style sauce, which was a dashi and soy sauce base with bacon and mushrooms and a garnish of grated radish and nori. This was incredibly delicious, unique, and a true blend of Japanese and Italian flavors. The bacon was phenomenal and there was a generous amount on the plate. My brother got the arrabbiata. He asked them to not make it very spicy, but it still had a good kick (I definitely wouldn't have asked for it to be milder, but to each their own). The flavors were rich. It was not busy at all we got at right away and there was empty tables but our server could not remember a single request we asked for . We asked for Parmesan, the check along with Togo boxes on separate occasions (which I think are quite normal requests to ask for ) he forgot all of them and we had to ask his co-worker. At the end of the meal he apologized for forgetting the items and asked if we wanted a Togo bag for our meals which as you guessed he forgot again. I'm sorry but the restaurant was at like 20% capacity. Also they messed up on part of our order. All and all we will not be returning again Also the gratin we ordered was very hard to eat.
