AWESOME. So we were big regulars over at Bamboo Garden when Tony and Lisa owned it. When the ownership changed, I just didn't find it had the same touches, and those small changes made a HUGE difference. We have been straying, or well, not really getting Chinese because I have such a hard time trusting reviews or places in the area and I'm sick of paying for food I'm not satisfied with. Then I came across this place, so close to my house, rated 5 stars but two trusty Yelpers, I knew I had to try it. So after months of seeking out a new gem of a Chinese restaurant, I told my counterpart that this place needed a try. We didn't have a menu, so I called and winged it. I knew that any respectable Chinese restaurant would have our usual; potstickers, Chicken fried rice, sweet and sour chicken, and one of the soups. I was right, there were no problems ordering sans menu. We skipped out on the soup, but the other stuff was fantastic. It wasn't greasy and had no taste of MSG or that nasty film that tends to coat your mouth after a bad Chinese meal. The chicken was huge and crunchy and tasted so fresh and the sauce to accompany it was amazing as well. That's one of my tests of good Chinese food; if the sweet and sour sauce is good, I am a happy camper. The soups will be the next test. The potstickers left my companion smiling and saying "YOU HAVE TO TRY THESE!" So glad I did. Now I am excited to try the eggrolls! I cannot WAIT to go back here and scope out the menu more. I didn't go to pick it up, my counterpart did, but he said it was clean and that you can see into the kitchen, which is always a huge plus for me. Worst Chinese food I have ever had!!! I tried this place twice hoping the second time would be better. I ordered chicken lo mein with extra mushrooms. The serving was huge. However, it was almost all noodles, and not the normal thick brownish noodles one is used too. These noodles looked and tastes like Ramen Noodles when someone forgets to put the seasoning packet in. The mushrooms were straight from a can along with the water chestnuts and other veggies. I told my wife that I will NEVER ear there again!!!! read more

In Oak Forest and the surrounding area, I don't really feel any of the other Chinese restaurants compare. Even after the 10 minute drive back home with the takeout the food is still so hot (temperature) that you can't eat it until it has been on your plate for 5 minutes. It's not really a dine in type of place, and the seating makes McDonalds look like a lazyboy. But the food is phenomenal. read more

One of the best aspects of any dining establishment is a consistently good product. Number 1 delivers time and time again. I don't think there is anything on the menu that we don't like. I have been coming to this place since they open. Never had a problem until this last time. I found a roach in my food, made me sick to my stomach. Bad enough to find something like that in your food but to have the owner tell you that he would refund only what wasn't eaten. Unfortunately my family was already eating for 10 minutes before I finally sat down to eat and find a roach in my dish. After arguing with them they finally refunded our whole order.
