I booked my appointment thru yelp and i was told my appointment with Mandy at 3pm was confirmed. I went there exactly 3pm and was greeted by Charlie and told me it seems like there was a miscommunication because Mandy already left for the day. He said Mandy told him she rescheduled her last appointment for the day (which was probably me) and left early. I didn't receive any message nor a call that my appointment was reschedule and i definitely did not agree to it. I was so annoyed and disappointed. Charlie offered me if i can wait atleast 30 mins he can take me in. Since i really needed the haircut that day i agreed. After half an hour of waiting Charlie did my hair, he was very nice and he seemed knowledgeable. He apologized for what happened with Mandy and i just let it slide. I showed him a picture of an A line cut i wanted. My initial reaction after the cut was positive, but after going home and really looking at it I realized it doesn't really match what i wanted. I asked for the front part to be longer (he even asked me if i prefer a steep version so he can make the front longer and i said yes). Now looking at it i can barely see the length difference between the front and the back. My hair was cut too short for my liking and the left side of my hair was layered too much it doesn't look feminine anymore. All in all, though i appreciate Charlie's friendliness, the unprofessionalism i experienced from the booked appointment and the A line that in the end didn't look like and A line cut to me made this experience terrible, i am never going back again. Found this gem on the dream catchers website, and since I just moved to the area gave them a call and was connected to Charlie who I scheduled a consult with the following day. I get there, we chat, he looks over my disaster of a head of hair (I've been treating my hair very poorly for a very long time) and we decide I need a color correction as well as a trim and a new set of 24" Dream catchers. The catch? I wanted it all done prior to Saturday (and it was Wednesday afternoon). Charlie snapped into action, did my color right then and there and it came out AMAZING. He ordered the extensions and I had them in the next day. He even stayed super late to get them done for me. To say that I love Charlie is an understatement. He transformed me and it doesn't hurt that he is super cool, fun to talk to and hang out with. He is my new go to guy for my hair! read more

My husband and I both came in for a haircut. My husband's cut was 45 dollars that lasted for 10 mins. The stylist was in a hurry to get out she was talking about heading to a game or something. She also did not ask my husband if he thought the haircut was ok or if he wanted adjustments. My stylist was very nice but had a hard time understanding what I wanted. I showed her pictures of pixie cuts from online, eventually showed her a picture of myself from my last haircut with another stylist, and told her just make me look like how I did before. The result was not satisfying. My hair was shorter but it retained a lot of volume in the wrong places my hair looks like a triangle shape from the front. This 5 star rating is all because of TRINA!! She truly knows what she is doing and explains how she can achieve what you want the best way possible. I was nervous as ive always been told by people I couldnt achieve what I want because of my hair dye past and dark hair. I knew exactly what I wanted and Trina gave me it even BETTER. I wanted something really natural just to give some extra pop to my hair. She is genuine and honest about what you can and cant achieve in terms of your hair. She also suggests many helpful things that are an option to do for your hair but does not pressure you to feel like you need to spend all your money. She gave me lots of information and we had a nice chat throughout it. I got balyage pieces done in a nice lighter caramel color to suit my darker hair. I also got a slight trim. After the whole session I left with still my length of hair with an even softer touch to it. Still til this day I love my hair and get many compliments on it. So I took an appointment with Mary after reading reviews about her here. I was visiting here for first time. She is very rude. I dyed my hair didn't even wipe extras on my face and was interested in attending other customers. Agreed they are busy but girl you should complete your work first. Also she just kept me moving from one chair to another to make space for others. I found it very rude and discriminating But I loved my haircut and haircolor. Thank goodness for Mary Nguyen! Despite my attempts previously, my hair color was all wrong. Mary does a natural yet enhanced version - I felt sexy after having my hair colored here. I notice Mary's technique makes my hair look like my baby's hair with natural highlights that capture light and yet never look artificial. =) lol. On the side note, I forgot to mention my friend's experience here - she had her blond streaks look horribly on her hair that looks dying out. So we came to Mary as she came up politely to us at this hidden salon near Mission Blvd and was skeptic but I trusted on the Yelpers. She immediately let us seated and figure out what we exactly want for our hair. I adore her, she is so talented and friendly!!!! I never had a friendly colorist/beautician/barber/haircutter (whatever you want to call it) this super friendly before! She is so open and interactive which is a must for good customer service! I feel like she is our best friend now. hehe. After my friend's decision on how her hair want to be, it was more than her expectation that her hair looks more natural than her hair was before. She really loves it. Mary is the first colorist to give me a color that did not make me look "washed out" and the color looks natural. Her prices are great and she is quick and and phenomenal!! I got my hair done, & had to come back twice. STILL not satisfied. I'm not in the mood to write a review, so ill make this brief. first visit: brought in a photo, explained that i wanted an ombre effect with the roots left natural, fading to blonde and my photo showed highlights. monica dyed half of my hair blonde, no ombre effect at all. & quite a bit of my hair was left brown, especially in the back. second visit: told monica i wanted more of the ombre effect, & that i felt it looked too solid and wanted highlights. she gave me two-three highlights & dyed ONLY my top roots light brown. actually, this reddish light brown that Im not even that fond of. and i emphasize on the ONLY. because she literally dyed only the top. i examined it when i got home, & the sides & back were still my natural brown. still no ombre effect. third visit: she dyed the rest of the natural spots the same reddish brown. yet, still no ombre. barely any highlights, & still lots of brown in the back. i asked for her to raise the blonde, because i felt it looked too grown out, & she told me id have to pay. i paid $185 for her to dye half of my shoulder length hair blonde. posting photos. read more

Mary was a last resort before my trip to Hawaii as my usual hair stylist had an emergency and was unavailable. I called her on Sunday and although she was off on Monday, she still made herself available to do my hair. I really appreciated that. I went in Monday morning and the salon was clean, cute and quiet. She got started right away. I was there for 2 to 2.5 hours and had a lot of color done (blonde on top, dark brown underneath, lowlights throughout the top and some pink and purple peek-a-boos) as well as a trim. It looked good, although she curled it without asking and I would have preferred it just blow-dried. The reason I gave her 3 stars is because of the cost. When she told me it would be $250 I just about dropped dead. I understand I have long hair (not quite mid-back, but it is past my shoulders) and had color done, but I have never spent anything near that on my hair - not even half that, and probably wouldn't have had I known that is what it would cost. It IS my fault for not asking her ahead of time (and I'll never do that again), and I still tipped her despite the fact that I was in shock, however I won't be back. I appreciate her making time for me when she was off and she did a good job, but I don't know WHO can afford that for their hair. read more

I mean I just got my color done yesterday..I came here because of the yelp reviews. I booked an appointment for a hair color. First of all they don't even pick up their phones..they do via text which was kind of strange not professional at all to me...I had to push my appointment back 30 minutes because I had a test that day at school and wasn't able to get out early and asked them in the morning and they said it's totally fine which is a star for being flexible. My stylist was Mary . At first her assistant greeted me she was actually a doll , when Mary came over she didn't even say hi all she said was what are we doing today ..umm ok? Kinda awkward whatever .. Anyways I showed them a picture of what I wanted I previously had light colored balayge ombré done at my go to salon but unfortunately he was booked for 4 months and I couldn't wait that long since my hair already grew out and I wanted to go darker so my hair can look healthier. I asked for a all over hair color that was dark on the top but blends with a lighten golden brown color Usually when I get my hair colored they do it in the seat..not where you wash your hair...and she didn't even do it her assistant did it for me. I first thought she's just adding the olpalex, but I was literally getting my color done in the wash bowl lol.. And your suppose to let the color stay in for more than 15 min I think...anyways Mary only did the blow drying didn't even bother to ask me how I wanted it she just did it straight..for spending that much money I think I atleast deserved to get a hi and ask how I wanted my blow out . My appointment literally lasted for 50 minutes. She whisked me away right when her client came in but she was obviously friendly with her..I mean she wasn't horrible with me but I've had way better service except saying my blonde is really brassy ... Umm ok. the results I really liked in the salons lighting but when I got home it looked like I dyed my hair and my hair was growing out it didn't look blended at all. And it cost me a whopping 165 dollars for something I literally could of done at home maybe even better. And the color she did was darker than what I wanted in the picture. The back of my hair has patches of lightly colored hair compared to the front. I mean obviously that would happen if you don't layer the hair by section and color and just dump the whole coloring on a persons hair..I even tipped her 20 bucks thinking it looked really good but I guess their light likes to play a trick with your eyes. My lesson learned is stick to my personal stylist Gary at salon Valenti he knows what he's doing and atleast he gives you a hello. read more

So, I'm really low maintenance with my hair. But if I need to get it trimmed or colored, I won't cheap out. I came here bright and early at 9am with my appointment booked for Mary. I was greeted with smiles by the assistant and was led to get my hair washed promptly. Afterwards, Mary did her magic. Although there wasn't too much of a convo exchange throughout, I was really satisfied with her work. She knows what she's doing and made my hair look more awesome/healthy. She didn't push me into getting any treatments done yet also gave me some helpful advice to care for my hair! For $60, it's a bit steep...but very worth it. -1 star though because overall service wasn't THAT memorable. And I, unfortunately, wasn't offered any drinks (including the oh-so-famous mimosas). read more

Vanessa has been doing my hair forever and she is amazing!! I don't even have to tell her what I want, she already knows and consistently cuts my hair to perfection. I've gotten a Brazilian blowout as well and I'm dying to get another one. If I do nothing to my hair, it tends to be very frizzy. Once I got my blowout it was silky straight for 3 months!!! She is very educated in her field as she is constantly taking classes and doing fashion shows.. Where do I begin? I'm sure that's the same thing Mary asked herself when she saw me walking through the door with my orange/yellow/red/black hair. It was horrid! On Monday, I spent the majority of the day with a stylist getting that balayaged ombré look. When the foils came out, it was anything but that. I about left in tears. Even my 14 month old looked at me strange! Thank goodness it was really late, the world wouldn't have to see my booboo the fool hair. The next morning, I woke up so early, in a panic. I just had to get my hair fixed. There was no way I could let anyone see me this way! My search began & I came across 3Sixty. I called at 9am explaining my situation. Mary assured me they handle these kinds of situations daily. I was able to go in ASAP too. Which was a major plus. When I walked in the salon is so spacious & clean. They have a boutique with the cutest jewelry AND my favorite wispies from Red Cherry! After waiting a few minutes, it was my turn to take the seat. I showed mary what my hair was supposed to look like, and of course my hair was anything but that. Mary examined my hair. Painted it as clear as day the whole procedure that was just about to take place. She jumped right into it and worked quick. You can imagine my complete happiness when I looked on the mirror. I just about could have died, it was amazing! Everything I could have wanted & more. She took my once bobo the clown colored hair (the worst she had ever seen), to the ombré/balayaged look I wanted. I really love the overall feel for this salon. Everything is clean, organized, and the staff is super sweet. I've been here three times now. Mary worked her magic on my hair back in May and I just came back this past month in October for a touch up. I honestly did not even need to come back because my hair still looked pretty good, but my roots were growing out. After the appointment, I was a little uncertain about the color because I was looking for something a bit lighter. Mary was very responsive via email and very willing to let me come back to get the right color.
