The food selections both sweet and savory are above what you would expect at a coffee shop; they are unique and high quality. I like this spot - It opened during the pandemic. I would really like to see it thrive! They keep to covid standards pretty well - There's not seating inside at the moment, but a couple of standard tables outside if you wanna sit down and eat. My g/f met us and grabbed a couple of chai teas. Pretty solid chai, and they had soy milk. The owner was super nice. Really good for meeting up and going for a walk around the park. I recently stopped at this charming coffee shop in Land Park. It was a lovely day and I was riding my bike. The outside patio was completely shaded. I thought I'd sit outside. Then I went inside and found it to be comfy and friendly so I stayed inside. I ordered an avocado toast and a medium iced latte. I have to say - they were both delicious. In fact, I think the avocado toast was the best I've had. Friendly service, too. I'll be back. read more

Healthy food has never tasted so AMAZING. THE LADIES at the counter help me choose what type of wrap I was going to enjoy. I ENDED up ordering a Thai Chicken Wrap. Upon the first edible decadence bite I was hooked. The flavors of the Thai chicken made your taste buds sit up at attention. The flavorful dip accompanying this delightful entree made it all more marvelous. Normally I don't enjoy wraps without Ranch dressing. But this time this place has the most gorgeously combination of meat and ingredients in the wrap. If the wrap is in anyway a hint of what else this little spot has to offer I would highly recommend you all to drop by. read more

This is now my favorite spot. The staff are always friendly and the service is top notch.

Not only is the location lovely and the shop itself immaculate, which is all a big deal, but I got a 20oz FLAVORED coffee that actually tasted good AND a lovely pastry, all for under $10. I don't remember the price exactly but I want to say it ended up at about $8 with a tip. That is pretty much unheard of these days. There was a lot of food available that I didn't try, sandwiches and such, but it looked interesting and I imagine it would be a nice lunch or brunch spot as well. read more

Unfortunately, this little "coffee shop" has deteriorated to a large degree, and the coffee is just Peerless available at Safeway. The college-age girl at the counter did not know what "gluten free" means, and I had to teach her how to read an ingredient list on the bottle of chocolate syrup. Dropped by 5 Sips to sit down and have a coffee with pastries I picked up from Mahoroba down the street. I had a cold brew which was nice and mellow along with a raspberry scone that was perfectly baked and had amazing flavor and texture. Besides the nice atmosphere what really blew me away is the hospitality. Me and my friends met Michael, the owner, who is quite possibly one of the most down to Earth people that I've ever met. He was kind to us right off the bat and we shared good conversation over some of the extra baked goods that I had being the glutton I am. The welcoming experience is enough to bring anyone back time and time again. I saw that they had a decent amount of food options such as bagels and burritos as well that I may try if I'm back in the future! read more

First thing you see is the big "masks required" sign on the door. It even says they'll provide one for free if you need it. I opened the door and saw three customers in a cluster talking to the employee behind the counter, and not ONE of them was wearing a mask. Sorry, that's an automatic failure! Picked this place for our family coffee date and so happy we chose to stop here. Michael made the cutest hot chocolates with sprinkles for the kids, making them feel special. I'm updating this review to reflect the higher quality of the espresso drinks since my earlier review. What hasn't changed since the last review? Well, the friendly neighborhood feel, the great pastry selection, and the fact that it's not a corporate chain are all as they were. What took the previous review down a notch was the poor espresso. I had a latte that was just not very good. So I've been back several times since and have ordered several more lattes. I am very happy to report that although there's been some variability (based on who's running the espresso machine) they were all at least ok and a couple of them were excellent. So this is my new favorite place in the area to grab a coffee. It's not up there with a place like Chocolate Fish or Temple nor should it be. It's a nice place with a great feel and a great pastry selection. The people are really nice and there's pleasant outdoor seating. So head on over one of these mornings and snag a few precious minutes of peace and comfort: grab yourself a latte and one of the Nutella-filled pastry thing, sit in the shade outside, and watch the world go by. Sometimes I forget my haunts, places that really mean a lot to me and I'm glad to say I've reconnected with this awesome place. I've been enjoying delicious coffee and pastries here for what seems to be 30 years. Mind you the owners have changed a few times, and each time, this place just got better. And the most recent change is no exception. The name of this place has changed, but the ambiance and soul have only been enhanced. I had a great time catching up with an old friend today and we enjoyed the amazing burritos - one vegan, the other bean egg and cheese. The coffee is superb, and the owner even gave me a taste of the Ethiopian blend, it was amazing. I really enjoyed the Hawaiian medium roast, and of course, had to enjoy a Danish before I left. Glad to see another local coffee shop nearby! I went a few weeks ago and was happy about the customer service. Michael was welcoming and the barista was friendly. We ordered a latte, coffee, and two breakfast burritos. The drinks were standard. I had one of the vegetarian burritos, which I can't remember what exactly it was called but just know that it wasn't the black bean burrito. We were both pleasantly surprised by how tasty the burritos were after Michael warmed them up for us! I'm glad that there's a local spot with a decent breakfast. There is a grassy park right across the street, so it's a nice place to mill around after grabbing drinks and food. They also have a lot of pastries, some of which are baked in-house and others from elsewhere. We did not try these but might in the future. read more

We stayed in Sacramento (Land Park area) for a few nights. We wanted to find a local coffee shop and stumbled upon 5 Sips. The drinks are well made with quality ingrinets and the food was tasty. The prices are very reasonable as well. The owner was so outgoing and memorable. We came in two days in a row and he remembered us on the second day. He had even started following us back on IG and commented on my husband's art. What a personable and friendly guy! Located on a quiet side street with a nicely treed park across the street. 5 Sips has a very laid-back feel to it with a nice selection of inside and outside seating. I can't think of a better place toast back with friends or a good book and enjoy some of the tasty lunch offerings, pastries, and the all important cup of coffee.
