61 Hundred has the best bread and pastries. I tried some of their special purple super sourdough and could not have been happier. We took home some of their best bread and it is just great. Their croissants are amazing as are all of their pastries. The place is so clean and cute. The customer service is amazing. They are so nice and will explain all they have. We took some back to our hotel and then went back on our last day just to get bread to take home. The bakery is known its innovation. I have never had their signature heirloom blue-corn masa sourdough. They even have Filipino staples like pandesal and ube-filled cruffins. It is all so good. They are open Thursday through Sunday until all is sold out. You will love this place.

Really good and exceptional bread. I don't think I've had bread this good in my life. We came here on a Saturday after noon so it was getting close to closing time. However, there was still a line out the door and the staff were super nice to give out a lot of samples! We tried the rosemary bread and it was absolutely delicious. It was also straight from the oven, so it was still super warm. We went ahead and ordered the tomato cheese croissant and focaccia dolce. They were both amazing! I would think all the bread would taste good, but everyone was recommending the tomato cheese one. It was pretty nice and clean inside! Also, plenty of seating and restrooms in the outside area!

Zero wait on the weekdays! The staff was so nice and fast. And they were still running out of pastries at 9am. Respect the hustle. Street parking is actually just as crowded on the weekdays but their bread is worth it. Love everything about this bakery.

Came to this area for breakfast at the next-to diner, both having similar hours (only open Th - Sun, early morning to early afternoon). Ordered a sampling of their wares, and all were excellent. My wife looks for articles and stories about businesses with a Filipino angle, and showed me a NBCLA story about 61hundred bakery. Since we were going to be in the area anyway, decided to stop-in on a Friday morning soon after it opened. There was continuously a line snaking outside, with a few people allowed inside at a time. Once inside, it moves fast with a person grabbing each item as you asked for it and putting it on a tray. The cashier then counts the items on the tray, and takes your payment. By the time we tried to buy bakery items, the blue masa sourdough was gone. However, we were able to buy some other items to try: Classic Sourdough ($12) - excellent. Softened European butter seemed to be made just to go with this bread. It wasn't overly sour or too airy. I could see a group of 4 having a very enjoyable dinner with just this bread, a brick of hard cheese, some jambon iberico, and a bottle (or two) of a good red wine. There didn't seem to be an option to have it sliced. Sourdough Focaccia Dolce ($9), Pan de Sal ($8), Pain au Chocolat ($6). All really good, though not as good a value as the above. I've never really been too impressed with Pan de Sal before, but this version was very good: slightly sweet with a bit of pull and chewiness. The chocolate croissant was beautiful, with naturally occurring cross laminated strip clearly indicating the effort to produce the many layers of dough/butter that takes so much time. To top it off, we asked and received a small container of sour dough starter. Not all bakeries are kind enough to provide when asked. Here, they were more than gracious to provide it to us after a brief wait. And it's definitely alive...the starter was practically crawling out of the sealed container as we drove back home.

What can I say...the sourdough bread is amazing! I was introduced to 61hundred even before the storefront opened. Sad that they are no longer in SJC but sooooo happy for them that they are doing so well! Well deserved! My first time at their location in Santa Ana. I was a bit worried about the line but it went fairly quickly (don't forget your sunglasses though because it can get hot on a sunny day!). Of course I got the sourdough bread loaf as well as the Japanese milk bread. I added pastries and wow!!!! The ube croissant definitely lives up to its hype! Sooo delicious. I ordered an ice latte with oat milk and cream top which was absolutely divine. Can't wait to try more goodies soon!

Was so excited to try this place after seeing so many vids on it. Came around 8:10 on thursday, there was a line, prob waited like 10 mins to get in. Parking is street parking, may be a bit difficult to get but we got lucky. We got the blue corn masa cornbread (4), ube cruffin (7), soy scallion gochujang roll (7), and the monkey kouign (6). Total was like ~26. Price wise def expensive. - cornbread: its like a chewier cornbread, nothing special except color - ube cruffin: expensive, very pretty, good amount of filling, didnt taste much ube flavor tho - gochujang roll: also expensive, yummy tho, good combination of flavors, lwk drenched in oil or wtv - monkey kouign: best thing we got, chewy but also had a good crunch, delicious would buy again Overall not bad but not super impressive, im okay with paying expensive if its super delicious. They have cool flavor pairings which is nice. Prob wouldnt go out of my way to come back but if i were i would def get the monkey kouign, and try the croissant cinnamon roll and lwk the blue sourdough lol

Parking is terrible, but that's out of the bakery's control. Service is fast and friendly, set up in an assembly line style. The ambiance is that of a really good bakery, with a line out the door and loud conversation. Finally the baked goods were all pretty good to delicious. We came here to try a thing or two, see what the fuss is about and left spending about $90. Everything looked and sounded amazing. That's the most I've ever spent at a bakery in one visit but it did not disappoint. Everything we tried here was delicious. My favorite was the croissant cinnamon roll, which I had with coffee to cut the sweetness of it. I do have one complaint, I can't stand salt on my sweets, call me old fashioned but I like my foods segregated, keep the salt off my chocolate chip cookie because the cookie itself was amazing but the salt kept messing it up. My kid had a chocolate croissant, which had a dark chocolate tasting center. No complaints from him until he tried the cinnamon roll which he said he did not like due to the frosting. I on the other hand will come back here just for the cinnamon roll. We also got a loaf of sourdough, which we devoured in 2 days with some butter. Even the blue corn muffins and corn cookie were good, which I really didn't think I'd like. Well that's this critic's review, until next time, I'll be eating.

I've had this place bookmarked for a while and am so glad I was able to try it out! There's no designated parking lot but plenty of street parking nearby. There was a wait for us despite coming on a weekday morning, so I can't imagine how long the line gets on the weekends. The bakery is so cute inside and everything is displayed so aesthetically! I wanted to buy them all but we ended up getting the sundried tomato, butter croissant, scallion gochujang, and ube croffle. All of them were so fresh and perfectly crispy. The sun dried tomato one had cheese too and is definitely a great savory option. The gochujang one wasn't as spicy as I expected and was more on the sweeter side, but the scallion flavor was strong and delicious! My favorite was definitely the ube croffle, which was filled with a rich and creamy ube custard. It wasn't overly sweet and was soo good! There were a few things I wanted to try but didn't get a chance to yet, like their blue corn sourdough loaf and their cinnamon roll so I'll definitely be back for more!

Tried 3 items (see attached photo). All delicious, except for the corn cookie. Parking is horrible, horrible, and horrible.. Entrance and exit to the store is congested. service was good. Love seeing happy smiling workers. Price is ....uhhhhh...too expensive, at least it was delicious. An experience I would not repeat due to horrible parking situation.

Located inside a quonset hut in downtown Santa Ana, it's quite the view just walking up to the storefront. 61hundred bread really knows how to make me a liar when I say I don't really eat much bread because I wanted to try everything. No wait upon entry and was greeted with a sample of the rosemary focaccia bread which was so good I ended up having to get it. The selection is good across the board with a mix of baked good and drinks here, so you can grab everything and sit outside to enjoy. There's outdoor seating in front and in between the huts. The seasonal "pandan in the coconut" is a bit sweet but lives up to its name in flavor. By the time I left, the line was out the door and really long so I imagine it all comes down to timing and the wait can be really long. Note all parking is on the street.

Went here on a limb on a random Thursday and was impressed! There was a long line and parking was very busy as it's all street parking and we had to do a few turns. The bakery view is very cute and you can see the rows and trays of bread which I thought was enjoyable to watch. The breads were yummy my personal favorite was the gochujang onion scallion roll, it was both sweet and savory. Also RHINK the croissant is underrated! So crunch buttery and huge. The prices of the bread were a little high though I believe 4 pieces of bread came out to be around 35 dollars... crazy in this economy. Would come back if I was craving

Line is really long and intimidating but it goes fast. I enjoyed the house made chai latte, and my ube pastry rich with natural flavor. While you are waiting in line there is a small air mobile trailer serving up good music and ice cream. We got the sourdough loaf to go, however I was a little bummed that it wasn't "sour" enough. The foodies are spilling out of this place. Believe the hype !

I tried several pastries from 61hundred Bread on this first visit. From sweet to savory ones, they were all really good. For the price, however, I think they are pricey for what they are. I wasn't a huge fan of their cinnamon roll ($8). The cinnamon roll is more of a croissant-type of pastry and while it was good in itself, the caramelized sugary part at the bottom was not good. It was super sticky and it got stuck on my teeth. It was a huge turn off that I had to scrape the bottom portion off just to eat the upper layers of the cinnamon roll. I wouldn't get it again just for that reason, but overall, it was a tasty cinnamon roll on the parts that didn't get stuck to my teeth. While I didn't get any sourdough, I plan to come back and try the blue corn sourdough as well as the focaccia as I've heard great things about those. The line wasn't bad on a weekday morning around 8:30 a.m.!

Is there always a line? When a good day and time to go?

Unfortunately, there’s quite a bit of a wait since they are only open Fri-Sun from 8am-1pm. I would recommend arriving a bit before 8am which is the time they open. If you get there after 9am, the line starts to get backed up. Good luck!!!

Is the blue corn sourdough bread a regular item or just seasonal?

    Regular item, not seasonal.

    Any Vegan options?

Yes they have focaccia which doesn't use milk or butter. But as for the pastries I'm not sure.

What's the parking like? Is it in a busy street?

Street parking. It's not a busy street but lots of traffic for the bakery.

We tried the pork belly and the cubano sandwiches. They were excellent in every way. The cubano was true to spec. Tender ham, mustard pickles on a beautiful roll. Simply delicious. The Pork Belly was spectacular. The pork was tender and flavorful and the cucumbers, cilantro, onions and jalapeños made it a flavor delight. All on a delicious roll. Just writing this makes me want another one! However, there's one thing you do not want to miss. Their newest addition is Salt Bread. These are sold 4 to a package and and are like the yummiest croissant you've ever tasted. I was sitting waiting for my order to be completed when the owner cam out with a bit of one on a fork. I was hooked. They're already baked, but the instructions are to put them in an air fryer (we used a small convection toaster oven) for 2-4 minutes at 350. I also like them split and toasted. They're fantastic! You'll want to put The Sandwich Society on your restaurant list! (And you'll want Salt Bread in your pantry too!).

The toasted buns on the pastrami melt gave a great texture and helped it from getting soggy. In contrast, the bulgogi sandwich was very wet and the bread felt more like a sponge at the end of my meal. The flavors were great but the sandwich itself was messy to eat. The service is great and they even gave us a cookie for each sandwich for free! It's a great place for a casual lunch. I'd definitely come back to try the other sandwiches.

Your flavor preferences will determine which burger is your favorite as they were all really good! The Mushroom Swiss is a classic mushroom burger that is lighter in flavor, but quite tasty. The Bubba was definitely the most flavorful burger and was a perfect example of a BBQ burger. The ABC was a classic burger and it was a little heavy on the sweet pickle flavor, so this burger is not for you if you don't like pickles. They were alllll good.
